After Achieving Invincibility, I Set Out to Destroy Sects

Chapter 63: Bai Yue’s Origin Before Becoming an Orphan

Snapping out of her surprise, Bai Yanfei saw the confusion in Bai Yue’s eyes and knew she had a lot to explain.

Bai Yanfei continued, "After I sealed your cultivation talent, the enemy of our family became unable to find you and grew desperate, knowing you could rise to become very powerful one day. They then attacked the family heavily, and our family was no longer safe to stay at."

Bai Yue asked, "Is that when you sent me down to the mortal world?"

Bai Yanfei replied, "Yes. At that point, if we let you stay in the Immortal world, they would find you soon. Once I sent you down to the mortal realm, I lost track of where you were and couldn’t find you since then."

Bai Yue inquired, "Then what happened next? Why are you able to look for me now despite all the enemies still being around?"

Bai Yanfei replied, "For the past few years, our Bai family has counterattacked heavily and managed to gain some ground. Now we are in a stalemate, so the family is relatively safe again. Not to mention you are old enough now to understand the situation so there’s less to worry about."

Despite all this assurance, Bai Yue had no intention of going with her mother to return to her family.

Bai Yue, still unwilling, replied, "I’m still not going back with you. I can take care of myself if they ever come."

Bai Yanfei asked, "Where does your confidence come from? How could you possibly feel safe at such a nameless sect no one has heard of before? Even if you are relying on the rich Immortal energy, it will be coveted by others in the future and be more dangerous than safe."

Bai Yue answered, "I trust that my sect master can take care of anything that may come. He is the strongest person in existence."

Bai Yanfei, unconvinced, said, "You believe in that man? That man is simply far too ordinary, as there is no energy emanating from him. He might as well be a mortal if it weren’t for the fact he can fly."

Bai Yue replied confidently, "He may seem that way to you, but I still believe him."

Bai Yanfei, seeing she couldn’t convince her daughter this way, tried another tactic.

Bai Yanfei said, "If I can take you away today, what could he do to stop me? If he really is as strong as you say, just get him to stop me from taking you away. I am doing this for your own good, so come quietly."

As Bai Yanfei moved forward to grab Bai Yue, she suddenly felt sluggish before finally coming to a complete halt. This made her wonder what was happening.

While Bai Yanfei tried hard to break free, Jiang Yun floated down from the sky, having watched from above. Bai Yanfei started to wonder if her inability to move was caused by the man in front of her.

Unable to break free, Bai Yanfei asked, "Are you the one forcing me to stay in place, unable to move?"

Jiang Yun replied, "That’s right, I am indeed stopping you from taking Bai Yue just like you requested."

Bai Yanfei was perplexed by how Jiang Yun was so casually stopping her. She, though not the strongest, was still a True Immortal realm powerhouse. Yet here she was, unable to move from such an unassuming man like Jiang Yun.

After struggling more, Bai Yanfei gave up as she realized she simply couldn’t get out of the restriction.

Bai Yanfei replied, "I am somewhat convinced, so can you let me go?"

Jiang Yun didn’t intend to trap Bai Yanfei forever, so he released her after she asked.

Now free, Bai Yanfei stood in confusion at how Jiang Yun was so powerful.

Bai Yanfei, snapping out of a daze, said, "Though you are stronger than me, Bai Yue’s pursuers are those at the Immortal King realm. Are you able to handle such power? If not, you are just putting her in danger by keeping her here."

Jiang Yun replied, "Immortal Kings are but a simple matter for me, so there’s no need to worry. If they truly do come, I don’t mind wiping them out."

Despite Jiang Yun’s confidence, Bai Yanfei was still skeptical, as she still hadn't seen Jiang Yun’s true power. As she was unable to use force or reason, she was out of options.

As she couldn’t think of a solution, Bai Yanfei gave up for the time being and decided to save the problem for later, as there was still some time before enemies found out Bai Yue had appeared again.

Bai Yanfei then turned to Jiang Yun to ask, "Since Bai Yue won’t come back with me, then can I stay here and catch up with my daughter?"

Jiang Yun saw no problems with this, but it wasn’t his decision, so he turned to Bai Yue as this was her matter.

Jiang Yun asked, "What do you think? Do you want to catch up with your mother?"

Bai Yue began thinking about the option, as after receiving an explanation she had no hatred for her mother. What Bai Yanfei did made sense, as there were simply no other options at the time.

Bai Yue also thought about what it would be like to talk with a mother, as she was somewhat curious. After seeing Jiang Yun with his mother, Bai Yue had been curious about her mother too.

Now that her mother had appeared, Bai Yue wanted to try to see what it was like.

Bai Yue replied, "I am fine with her staying to catch up. I’m also curious about what my mother has been up to these years."

Receiving a positive answer, Bai Yanfei began to beam with joy at being able to reconnect with her daughter.

The three then went back to the main hall, as they had stayed in the open air with the sun for long enough and Bai Yanfei wanted a better place to talk.

As Bai Yue and Bai Yanfei began to have some mother and daughter bonding time, Jiang Yun left them to discuss on their own.

After the two talked for half a day, Bai Yanfei went to find Jiang Yun.

Bai Yanfei said gratefully, "Thank you for saving my daughter. If it weren’t for you, I don’t know what I would have done if she had died in the lower realm."

Jiang Yun replied, "It was a simple matter and doesn’t require gratitude."

Bai Yanfei started to bow, trying to show her gratitude in full, before saying, "If you ever need anything in the future, just tell me and I will do whatever you ask. I am eternally grateful to you for taking care of my daughter all this entire time."

Seeing such heavy gratitude, Jiang Yun didn’t know how to reply, as it was quite overbearing.

Bai Yanfei continued, "Since my daughter trusts you so much and doesn’t want to go back, I won’t force her. Please continue to take care of her in the future."

Jiang Yun replied, "That’s only natural, so you don’t even need to ask."

Bai Yanfei started to take out all the treasures that were on her and gave them to Jiang Yun to try to repay him for all that he had done.

Jiang Yun quickly refused, as he didn’t need any of this, nor did he need this repayment for what he did on a whim.

Bai Yanfei was very persistent as she tried to force all her treasures on Jiang Yun. After a long back and forth, Bai Yanfei gave up as Jiang Yun wouldn’t budge.

Bai Yanfei, still frustrated, said, "Since you don’t want this, then fine. I will be sure to repay you through other means in the future, so don’t hesitate to ask. I will now be going back to continue talking with my daughter."

Bai Yanfei then turned and left, as she had finished what she came here for.

Jiang Yun thought about how overbearing of a woman Bai Yanfei was, as it was hard to make her accept no as an answer.

Now that she was gone, Jiang Yun decided not to dwell on it as he went back to the task he had been working on, which was to continue learning array formations.

As the days passed, Bai Yue became much closer with Bai Yanfei as she heard about the struggles of her mother. After speaking everything on each other’s minds, they have become quite close.

Bai Yue now spends her time by her mother’s side to catch up on lost time, as she never had a mother until now since she had been an orphan.

Jiang Yun, who had seen this, was happy for her, as she was quite cheerful now that she had a blood relative in the world.

As several more days passed peacefully, Jiang Yun sensed a hostile presence in the distance that was coming in his direction.

While trying to understand who they were, Bai Yanfei also seemed to sense their presence.

Bai Yanfei said, "The pursuers I was talking about have found us. I have been preoccupied with my daughter these few days and haven’t prepared well. Let’s escape quickly while we still can."

Jiang Yun, still unbothered, replied, "Since they are enemies, then I will go meet them."

With that said, Jiang Yun disappeared, heading towards the invaders.

Bai Yanfei was left behind still fearing for the what’s to come.
