Chapter 62: Bai Yue’s Reunion with Her Mother

Jiang Yun immediately appeared in front of the woman who was heading in the direction of the Invincible Cloud sect. Upon arriving, Jiang Yun was surprised by how familiar the woman looked.

Not knowing who the woman was, Jiang Yun started and asked, "Who are you and why are you heading towards my sect?"

The woman was surprised by how Jiang Yun had appeared out of nowhere. Despite there being nobody around as far as the eye could see, Jiang Yun appearing was quite strange to her.

The woman, snapping out of her shock, replied, "I am here to look for someone."

Jiang Yun inquired, "Who is it that you are looking for?"

The woman, trying to be secretive, answered, "I am here to look for my daughter. I lost her a long time ago but suddenly felt her presence in the direction I was heading. I don’t know if it is your sect I am going to, but she is nearby."

Jiang Yun looked closely at the woman, trying to see if she was lying to get out of the situation.

After seeing the woman was being genuine, Jiang Yun replied, "If your daughter is in the direction you are heading to, then it is the territory of my sect. Since you are looking for your daughter and not making trouble, I will allow you to enter. The condition is that you are under my watchful eye."

The woman, unsure if her daughter was indeed at Jiang Yun’s sect, ultimately decided to give in and do what Jiang Yun asked.

The woman replied, "Alright, I will do as you ask and let you watch over me when I enter your sect."

Seeing how sincere the woman was, Jiang Yun decided it wouldn’t hurt to let her look. Even if the woman later had ill intentions, dealing with her wouldn’t be very hard given Jiang Yun’s current power.

Jiang Yun then led the woman back to the Invincible Cloud sect.

After arriving, the woman was surprised by the fact that there was such a beautiful sect in the middle of nowhere. This place was so secluded that it would be very hard to find unless you got here by accident.

The woman, having arrived, started to look around, trying to continue following the feeling she was receiving as she felt her daughter was nearby. As she looked around, the feeling she had got stronger, and she started to move forward with Jiang Yun following close behind.

Soon, the two arrived outside the main building of the sect where everyone was at currently. The woman then entered the building as she became more frantic as the feeling she was getting became very strong.

Once the woman arrived inside the main hall, she saw a group of girls sitting cheerfully. As she looked at all of them, she suddenly changed her face as she saw Bai Yue.

The woman suddenly rushed up to Bai Yue, which caught her by surprise. Jiang Yun then started to debate whether to act to stop the woman or not. Jiang Yun was hesitating, as the woman didn’t seem hostile.

As the woman reached Bai Yue, she began to tightly hug the girl. This confused Bai Yue greatly, as she didn’t know who the woman was.

As the moments went by with Bai Yue doing nothing as she didn’t know what to do about the situation, the woman finally let go.

Bai Yue curiously asked, "Who are you and why did you suddenly hug me just now?"

The woman replied, "I am your mother, Bai Yanfei. I know you are confused right now but just know that I mean you no harm."

Bai Yue was speechless from what she just heard and questioned, "What do you mean by saying you are my mother? I am an orphan and have never had a mother."

Bai Yanfei replied, "I had to send you down to the mortal world when you were a baby, as the Immortal Realm was dangerous many years ago. As you were a mortal, you weren’t rejected by the lower realm’s rules and could easily descend. As I was already a True Immortal at the time, I couldn’t descend with you."

Bai Yue, still suspicious, asked, "How do I believe you?"

Bai Yanfei replied, "I gave you a crescent-shaped pendant which will never leave your side no matter what. Even if it got lost, it would just go back into your possession. Take it out now, and I’ll prove it to you further."

Bai Yue decided to play along for the time being and took out the crescent-shaped pendant just as the woman said. The woman then did the same and pulled out an identical-shaped pendant.

Bai Yue was surprised by the identical pendant and looked closer at the two. After some short observation, they were exactly identical, which proved the woman wasn’t lying.

Bai Yue was suddenly unsure what to do as a mother suddenly appeared out of nowhere, despite her being an orphan all her life.

If it wasn’t for meeting Jiang Yun, she would still be an orphan living on the streets and would have died by now from the carriage when she met Jiang Yun.

Observing the worry and confusion on Bai Yue’s face, Bai Yanfei explained, "A few days ago, I noticed you had ascended, as I felt your energy since you are my daughter and we have a blood connection. Since the Immortal World is now somewhat safe again, I am here to take you back."

Bai Yue replied, "I’m not going with you. This place is now my home, and I have no connection with you."

Bai Yanfei suddenly felt a pang of heartache from her daughter’s words. She couldn’t deny it, though, as she had never been there for her daughter all this time.

Bai Yanfei, trying to convince Bai Yue, replied, "It is unsafe in the world right now, and you will soon be targeted by certain people. I’m here to take you away so you can be safe."

Bai Yue was unconvinced, as there was no place safer than by Jiang Yun’s side. Though she was slightly curious about her origins, it wasn’t worth it to leave the sect over.

Bai Yue asked, "Who could possibly be coming after me? I have been alone in the mortal world until now and have never made any enemies. Who could possibly go out of their way to chase after me?"

Bai Yanfei started to explain, "You are a descendant of the Bai family, which is a mid-sized power in the Immortal World, with the current head being an Immortal King, which is my father. When you were born, it was found you had a large amount of cultivation talent, and it was noticed by the enemies of the family."

Bai Yanfei then pointed to Bai Yue and suddenly did something as chains started to appear on Bai Yue’s body and were breaking.

Jiang Yun, who had been watching from the side, was surprised by this, as he hadn’t seen anything wrong with Bai Yue before. This was due to him never taking a close look at her prior to the current situation. This kind of restriction was very unnoticeable unless you paid some attention to it.

Jiang Yun never thought of checking, as Bai Yue seemed like a typical orphan in the lower realm, so there was never a need to check. Now seeing the restriction, Jiang Yun felt incompetent, as despite his power, he never saw it before.

The main reason he didn’t notice was due to the restriction not harming Bai Yue in the slightest and instead was mainly for hiding something about her body. As it was not life-threatening, Jiang Yun had even less reason to look for it before.

As all the chains completely broke, Bai Yanfei explained, "I sealed your cultivation talent back then so nobody would notice. Now I can break it, as you are now old enough and can control your talent. You should feel that it is much easier to cultivate now."

As Bai Yanfei was finishing her sentence, Bai Yue suddenly felt a surge of energy rushing inside her. Due to how rich the Immortal energy around Bai Yue was, she suddenly felt her cultivation breaking through quickly.

In the next few moments, Bai Yue directly broke through a major realm and reached the Earth Immortal realm before it finally stopped.

Bai Yanfei, who expected some growth, was expecting Bai Yue to directly breakthrough an entire realm. She suddenly noticed how rich the Immortal energy around her was for the first time.

Bai Yanfei had been preoccupied with trying to find her daughter until now and didn’t pay attention to the surroundings. Now, with Bai Yue’s breakthrough, she finally felt the energy in the surroundings.

She was shocked by how dense the Immortal energy in this place was. This kind of place didn’t exist anywhere else.

Bai Yanfei soon began to question just what a hidden treasure land is doing in such a place. This kind of treasure land should have been occupied by a major sect, and yet it is in the hands of such a nameless sect.

As Bai Yanfei was still amazed by the dense Immortal energy, Bai Yue quickly left to deal with her thunder tribulation from her breakthrough. The thunder clouds soon came, and Bai Yue was undergoing her breakthrough trial.

While Bai Yanfei was still in a daze, she soon noticed Bai Yue was gone and went to look for her. At this point, Bai Yue had finished her tribulation and was officially an Earth Immortal.

As Bai Yanfei came out and saw Bai Yue after her thunder tribulation, she was amazed by how easy it was for her.

Bai Yue, on the other hand, felt it was natural to succeed with Jiang Yun around. Now that she was finished with her breakthrough, she turned her attention back to her so-called mother, as she now had many questions.

Bai Yue then came in front of Bai Yanfei, prepared to start understanding her origin.
