Chapter 293: Chapter 293: I Just Love Watching You Suffer in Prison
After speaking with Evan Shelby, Sienna Everett hung up the phone.
Julian Forrester walked over. It was past three in the morning, and the night air was cold and damp. He touched Sienna Everett’s hand; sure enough, it was cool.
Julian Forrester frowned, taking off his black suit jacket and draping it over her slender shoulders.
The jacket still carried his crisp, clean scent and lingering warmth. As it enveloped her, Sienna Everett’s long lashes fluttered. "I’m not cold."
Julian Forrester squeezed her hand. "Your hands are cold."
...Alright, fine.
Sienna Everett said no more. She pulled the suit jacket tighter around her shoulders and immediately walked toward Isabelle Sutton.
Right now, her biggest worry was Isabelle Sutton.
Isabelle Sutton had nearly been assaulted by that tattooed man in the warehouse. For any young woman, an experience like that could leave deep psychological trauma.
’And Shannon Everett, the real culprit, thinks she can get away scot-free?’
A chill flashed in Sienna Everett’s eyes.
’I will never let Shannon Everett get what she wants.’
’I will absolutely get justice for Isabelle Sutton.’
At that moment, Lucas Everett was hovering in front of Isabelle Sutton. Seeing the fresh tear stains on her face, his hatred for Shannon Everett deepened. "Damn it, she’s the one who should be in prison! She’s just a bad seed!"
Isabelle Sutton, however, only stared in Sienna Everett’s direction, her red-rimmed eyes brimming with emotion. She didn’t know why, but back in the warehouse, she had a steadfast belief that Sienna would come save her. And she had.
Even now, she could still vividly recall the moment the warehouse doors were kicked open. A slender, resolute figure, silhouetted against the light, had instantly dispelled all her fear and driven away the darkness...
Lucas Everett was still cursing Shannon Everett under his breath.
Shannon Everett, however, couldn’t spare Lucas Everett a single thought. Her eyes were locked on Sienna Everett and Julian Forrester in the distance.
Even the other Everett brothers were staring at Sienna Everett and Julian Forrester, completely dumbstruck.
Although they’d heard from Lucas that Julian Forrester was likely pursuing Sienna, possibly with ulterior motives, seeing him tenderly drape his own jacket over Sienna’s shoulders with their own eyes was so shocking it left them speechless.
Given the Everett family’s status, they rarely had the chance to meet Julian Forrester in person. They only ever saw the man—as lofty and unattainable as the moon—in financial magazines or news interviews. Yet now, here he was, at the Everett residence with Sienna Everett...
The strange thing was, this was the Everett residence—their own home. Yet, in the face of this powerful, high-status man, the innate air of authority he exuded with every gesture made them feel stifled and intimidated on their own turf. They wanted to get closer to Sienna, to go over and say a few words, but they didn’t dare...
"Wyatt, what... what exactly is the deal between Sienna and Julian Forrester?" Dustin Everett murmured in disbelief.
"How should I know?" Wyatt Everett was just as clueless. ’You’re asking me? Who am I supposed to ask?’
At this moment, Shannon Everett’s face was ashen. Her venomous gaze was fixed on Sienna Everett, her heart churning with resentment and a frenzied jealousy. ’Why...’
’Why does Sienna Everett always get the best of everything?!’
’She casually restores some artifact and gets showered with praise.’
’She was thrown out of the Everett family, despised by everyone, but now Mason, Miles, and all the rest of them are fawning all over her.’
’Even an immensely powerful man like Julian Forrester is chasing after her...’
’By what right?’
’By what right does Sienna Everett get the best of men, too?!’
’No, that’s not it!’
Shannon Everett staggered back a few steps, a strange, twisted, and manic smile spreading across her face.
’There have never been any public rumors about Julian Forrester having a serious girlfriend or a wife.’
’So what if that bitch Sienna Everett gets involved with Julian Forrester?’
’It must be some sordid affair that can’t be seen in public!’
Shannon Everett seemed to find a sliver of confidence and rationality in this thought. ’Heh. Morgan Everett and Sheila Whitaker are in prison, so everything the Everett family owns is mine now.’
’The only problem is, brothers like Mason and Wyatt can’t stand me. Without Morgan Everett and Sheila Whitaker’s protection, they’ll probably come after me.’
’So, I have to secretly sell off my shares in the Everett Corporation as quickly as possible, pocket all the assets, and get out of here.’
’I already contacted the Starlight Consortium and we agreed to sign the share transfer contract in five days. I wonder if we can move that up...’
’As for Morgan Everett and Sheila Whitaker in prison...’
Heh. Shannon Everett knew, of course, that Morgan Everett had absolved her of blame only because he expected her to get them out.
’Unfortunately for them, I’m not that stupid!’
’I don’t give a damn if Morgan Everett and Sheila Whitaker live or die!’
’It would be best if those two rot in prison for the rest of their lives and never get out!’
As the victim in the kidnapping case, Isabelle Sutton had to go to the police station to give a statement. Sienna Everett, who had filed the report, had to go as well.
Julian Forrester, of course, went with her.
When they arrived at the police station, Morgan Everett, Sheila Whitaker, and the gang of kidnappers were still being interrogated. With the evidence against them being ironclad, prison time was a certainty.
Just as Sienna Everett was finishing her statement and preparing to leave, a police officer stopped her. "Hold on a minute. Morgan Everett and Sheila Whitaker want to see you. They say they have something to say to you. Do you want to meet with them?"
Sienna Everett considered it for a moment, then nodded. "Alright."
She then told Julian Forrester and Isabelle Sutton that she was going and asked them to wait for her outside.
Sienna Everett followed the officer into an adjacent room. Inside was a long table where Morgan Everett and Sheila Whitaker sat in chairs, handcuffed.
Sienna Everett sat down opposite them, savoring their pathetic appearance.
Morgan Everett tried to hide his handcuffs, but it was impossible. "Sienna Everett," he seethed, "do you have to be so heartless? Did you really have to take it this far?!"
Sheila Whitaker chimed in, "That’s right, Sienna. If you just drop the charges, we can handle this privately. Your father and I won’t have to go to prison!"
Sienna Everett leaned back in her chair, a scornful look on her face as she regarded them. "Handle this privately? Unfortunately for you... I’d rather see you in prison."
"You!" Morgan Everett was fuming. He raised his hands as if to strike her, but the cuffs stopped him. Full of resentment, he demanded, "What’s your relationship with Julian Forrester? Is he in love with you? That makes us his future parents-in-law! What would people say if he had a father-in-law and mother-in-law in prison? Just say the word to Julian Forrester! A single sentence from him is all it would take to get us out of here!"
Sienna Everett’s expression turned cold. "Morgan Everett, are you delusional?"
Sheila Whitaker, her eyes swollen from crying, sobbed, "No matter what, I’m the one who went through hell to give birth to you! I even brought you back to the Everett family and raised you for two years. Haven’t I been good enough to you?! Is this how you repay your own mother?!"
"Good to me?" Sienna Everett stood, looking down on them with scorn in her eyes. "Kidnapping my friend to threaten me—is that what you call being good to me?"
"Alright, then. I’ll ’repay’ you in kind. Stop deluding yourselves. As long as I’m here, you will never get out of prison!"
With that, Sienna Everett turned and left without a backward glance.
Morgan Everett slammed his cuffed hands on the table in a rage. He knew it; that wretch was useless!
’But he still had Shannon. Shannon was so filial, so understanding. She would definitely find a way to get him and Sheila out of this mess...’
