Lucas Everett’s expression darkened. "No way! I know you two. You would never think of kidnapping someone. This must have been Shannon’s idea!"

Dustin Everett stepped forward. "Dad, why are you still protecting Shannon! She’s the reason you’re going to jail!"

Morgan Everett roared, "Both of you, shut up! I said it has nothing to do with Shannon, and I meant it! Sheila, tell them, isn’t that right!"

Sheila Whitaker was in a complete daze. Hearing Morgan Everett’s question, her mind descended into chaos. ’I don’t want to go to jail... I don’t want to be imprisoned... Why is Morgan only making excuses for Shannon and not for me?’

’Still, if they could save Shannon, that would be for the best.’

After all, she had raised Shannon for so many years and saw the girl as her own flesh and blood.

Sheila Whitaker nodded numbly. "Yes, this has nothing to do with Shannon. She was completely unaware..."

Because Morgan Everett and Sheila Whitaker insisted that Shannon was unaware of the plot, the police could only take the couple into custody for investigation, to be interrogated along with the gang of kidnappers.

Lucas Everett fumed with indignation as he watched Shannon get off scot-free.

Sienna’s gaze darkened. She deliberately walked a few steps away, took out her phone, and called Evan Shelby. She asked in a low voice, "About Shannon planning to secretly sell her Everett Corporation shares to the Starlight Consortium, how many days until the scheduled contract signing?"

Evan Shelby, roused from sleep in the middle of the night, sounded groggy and drained. "Seriously? You woke me up at this hour just to ask that?"

Sienna: "Just tell me."

Evan Shelby: "In five days. What’s up?"

Sienna: "Have someone from the Starlight Consortium notify Shannon and move the meeting to tomorrow. Tell her that as a token of their apology for the change, they’ll raise the offer and buy her Everett Corporation shares at a higher price."

Evan Shelby was baffled. "Hold on, what’s the big rush? You can’t even wait five days?"

There wasn’t a single trace of emotion on Sienna’s exquisitely beautiful face. "That’s right. I can’t wait to destroy Shannon Everett any longer."
