Chapter 1810 Legendary Flames

Chapter 1810 Legendary Flames

"Little Friend, there's no need to say such words." City Lord Vaughn didn't show any anger, looking at Grey, he apologized, "I'm sorry for trespassing into your Ancestor's resting place."

Looking at Grey's eyes, he placed his hand into his robe and brought out a small wooden box that could perfectly fit into his palm, handing it over to Grey he added, "I hope this will be able to quell Little Friend's anger."

City Lord Vaughn witnessed Grey's actions the last time he entered the City Lord's Manor. Knowing that he liked the tea leaves, he brought out the most precious one. A single leaf in this small box is equal to ten leaves in the other box.

Grey didn't need to open it to confirm what was inside, seeing that the City Lord didn't come to fight with him, he couldn't help but take a quick look at the Old man in blue. To be honest, the reason he acted aggressively from the start was because he thought that the City Lord came here to fight with him, but from how the City Lord seemed to be acting, it was clear to even a blind man that he was trying to build a good relationship between them. How could someone who wanted to build a relationship with him want to attack him?

Unsure of if he should trust the City Lord, he first kept the wooden box. There was nothing harmful inside, well, other than a sliver of the City Lord's spiritual senses. Without hesitation, Grey wiped it off, making the City Lord visibly tremble. Yes, it was only a sliver of spiritual senses, but this sliver was connected to his consciousness. Grey's actions were no different from damaging his consciousness, and also warning him not to underestimate Grey.

City Lord Vaughn was an Eighth stage Sovereign that was close to the Ninth stage of the Sovereign Plane. Just like how the human body can grow stronger, so is the consciousness of each Elementalists. An Elementalist can manipulate elements with the aid of their powerful souls or consciousness. Usually, Elementalists have no reason to check the strength of other Elementalists' consciousness; this is because the strength of an Elementalist's consciousness is directly proportional to his cultivation stage.

In this case, City Lord Vaughn being a peak Eighth stage Sovereign should naturally have the superior soul or consciousness. Having a superior consciousness, he shouldn't have any problems with hiding a sliver of his consciousness in the box. Unexpectedly, Grey, a Sixth stage Sovereign, could sense it. This meant that Grey's consciousness is at least on the same level of a regular peak Seventh stage Sovereign or an Eighth stage Sovereign that just broke through. The thought of this stunned City Lord Vaughn.

Keeping the small wooden box in his storage ring, he turned to the City Lord, "I wonder what made Sir personally take a trip here?"

City Lord Vaughn could tell that Grey knew his identity, and seemed to have misunderstood the reason he came here, knowing that there's a chance to talk, he looked around before saying, "Can we go somewhere private to talk?"

Grey paused, looking at the Old men from the McCall Family, trying to see if they were in any trouble. Sensing only nervousness, he knew that they hadn't been threatened, at least not yet. After giving it some thought, he nodded. He didn't find anything wrong with having a conversation with the City Lord, after all, it's not like he retaliated after Grey's initial attack. That alone showed his sincerity.

City Lord Vaughn looked behind Grey, giving a subtle hint for Grey to invite him into the Hill.

Grey didn't bother with him and looked at the Old man in black, "Senior, can I trouble you to have someone arrange a room for me and this Sir?"

The Old man in black shook his head, not finding it worrisome, he even sent one of the Old men with him to escort Grey and City Lord's Manor's entourage to a secret area.

The current head of the McCall Family, the Old man Grey stopped from self-destructing, was the one who led Grey and the City Lord's Manor's entourage away, leaving the other five Old men standing in front of the Hill.

Looking at the Old man in blue, everyone was curious.

"Was he the one that attacked the City Lord?" The Old man in black asked, unable to believe it. The reason he didn't ask about the clash while the City Lord was still present was in fear of offending him. Given the City Lord's status, being forced into such a state by a kid will naturally make him embarrassed. If the City Lord were to wipe out the McCall Family due to his embarrassment being mentioned by the Old man in black, then the Old man in black will become the McCall Family's biggest enemy since he brought disaster to them.

Hearing that the Old man in blue managed to successfully get to the other side of the array formation, they all sighed in disappointment. They knew that they would've been able to break through in a few days, unfortunately Grey came and snatched that opportunity from them. Their disappointment was soon replaced by disbelief and a look of shock.

"You mean not just blue flames, but the legendary icy blue flames?" The Old man in black could barely keep himself in control as he asked in agitation.

"If I didn't see it myself, I, too, will have difficulty believing it. But I not only saw it, I felt it too. The attack wasn't even directed to me and just the aftershock is enough to almost turn me into a block of ice." The Old man in blue still had fear in his eyes. It couldn't be helped, he was only a mere Peak stage Venerable, in a presence of two experts exerting the strength of Late stage Sovereigns, even the aftershock is enough to end a group of Peak Sovereigns life, much less one that was that close.
