Chapter 1809 I Don't Care Who He Is
"Incredible."
City Lord Vaughn was lost for words at the sight of the mist covered hill. The reason for this was simple: no matter how hard he tried, the second his spiritual senses sank into the mist, he became lost, not knowing his left from his right. It was as if his sense of direction vanished and he didn't even know which way was forward or backward, all he could do was retract his spiritual senses. From his speculations, staying here for too long will bear unimaginable consequences.
He tried to physically enter and see what effects it had, and being the cautious person he is, he attacked a strand of his consciousness to the body of Sir Xavier without the latter's knowledge. After taking fifteen steps into the place, City Lord Vaughn paused, not heading forward. That's because he didn't need to, before him was a figure staring at him with nonchalant eyes, behind the figure was an Old man in blue.
Grey's eyes were sharp as he locked onto the body of City Lord Vaughn. He hadn't seen him before, so he was unaware of his status.
"I don't know who this Sir is, but trespassing into my Ancestor's resting place is a taboo." The second Grey finished his statement, something unbelievable followed suit, he attacked.
City Lord Vaughn wasn't able to recollect himself from the sight of Grey when he was soon covered by scorching flames. The blue flames radiated a cold sensation, giving one the feeling of extreme cold even though they could clearly see that it was flames.
"The legendary icy flames! Impossible!" City Lord Vaughn was caught unaware, he was already shocked at the fact that Grey would attack immediately he saw him, what he didn't expect was that Grey's flames would actually be the legendary icy blue flames.
The Old man in blue's eyes almost bulged out of his face when he saw and felt Grey's icy flames. It was as if he was caught in a volcano, only, instead of burning to death, he was being frozen. A strange contrast when taking into account that he felt like he was standing in a volcano.
City Lord Vaughn didn't dare to take Grey's attack for granted, steadying himself, he took a defensive position and a ring of flames spread out with him in the center. The ring spread out only a meter or so away from his body. As soon as the extreme cold got close, City Lord Vaughn's fire ring gave off a striking glow before blocking it. The chill he was feeling a few seconds ago disappeared into thin air. He heaved a sigh of relief, at the same time, the look he gave Grey changed drastically.
He knew for a fact that Grey's attack just now was him testing the waters, yet a casual attack is already equivalent to a Seventh stage Sovereign. He could sense that Grey was a Sixth stage Sovereign, yet his first casual attack could rival some Seventh stage Sovereigns' attacks. This was a shocking discovery. Even if City Lord Vaughn saw Grey as a powerful individual, he was still a Sixth stage Sovereign in the end. He might be strong, but he didn't think he could exert anything more than a Seventh stage Sovereign. However, from this, he could already tell that he was mistaken, strongly mistaken.
'He might be no weaker than a peak Eighth stage Sovereign.'
City Lord Vaughn's expression turned dark when he thought of this. The reason he came to Grey was because he believed that he could at least keep him in check ensuring he can get the majority of the treasure. However, with the strength Grey just displayed adding to his mysterious ability to disappear and appear whenever he wants, it's impossible for City Lord Vaughn to take advantage of him.
"Little friend, this is a misunderstanding." City Lord Vaughn retreated after blocking the attack, leaving the mist-covered area.
Everyone outside heard City Lord Vaughn's words and also the sound of two forces clashing. Immediately after that, they saw City Lord Vaughn retreating hastily while also trying to appease whoever attacked him.
Lord Harry and Sir Xavier were struck speechless when they saw the City Lord rushing out of the mist, unsure of what to think. They were still lost in thoughts when a familiar figure dressed in black walked out of the mist.
The young face of Grey, coupled with his usual nonchalant expression was a complete contrast to how City Lord Vaughn rushed out of the place.
"I don't know who this Sir is, but I'm sure you know this isn't forbidden ground yet you choose to enter. Do you think my Ancestor's resting place is for the likes of you to enter whenever you wish?" Grey didn't speak with a haughty expression or tone, but his words contained boundless arrogance.
Sir Xavier's face turned cold on hearing the manner with which Grey was speaking to his father. Judging from Grey's bone age, he knew that he was very young, ye5 he was speaking in such a manner to his father who was close to a thousand years if not even older.
"Boy, you might be strong, but do you know who you're speaking to?" Unable to hold in his anger, Sir Xavier questioned.
Grey looked at Sir Xavier, then at Lord Harry, seeing how they positioned themselves behind the man in golden robes, he could already guess his identity.
"I don't care who he is, trespassing into my Ancestor's resting place is a taboo. If not for this being your territory I would've already started killing." Grey didn't show any fear, looking leisurely at Sir Xavier as he spoke, he didn't even see the need to show any coldness as he spoke about killing.
Seeing how he spoke about killing as if he was talking about removing weed from a garden, City Lord Vaughn and Lord Harry knew that although Grey's young age, he was well versed in killing. Remembering how easy it was for him to get the Black Protector dead, City Lord Vaughn motioned for Sir Xavier to keep shut.
