Chapter 553 - 552: The Foolish Prince
Chapter 553: Chapter 552: The Foolish Prince
The three-day period came and went.
Keith walked out of his room, his eyes hazy as the memories of reading so many books made him want to throw up.
But finally...
He understood this world.
At the very least, he could now keep up whenever certain things were mentioned.
"Done?" Kiro asked as he leaned against the wall across from Keith.
"Yeah," Keith replied.
Kiro smiled.
"I knew you had a talent for reading," Kiro teased as Keith’s face twitched.
Soon, the two of them walked toward Rasel’s room.
Knock.
Knock.
They knocked on the door.
"Come in," Rasel said.
The two entered to find Rasel and Devon waiting.
Their luggage was already packed.
All that was left was to leave.
"Are you both ready?" Devon asked.
Keith and Kiro nodded.
Seeing this, Devon stood up.
"Let’s go."
The instant Devon walked out, Keith and Kiro stepped forward and carried Rasel’s large luggage while Rasel herself walked leisurely behind them.
The four of them left the castle.
The maids quickly followed, offering to carry the luggage from Keith’s and Kiro’s hands.
Only...
A single glance from Rasel sent them retreating immediately.
She wanted Keith and Kiro to carry her luggage.
Keith frowned.
What for?
Wouldn’t it be better if their hands were free so they could focus entirely on protecting her?
Although Keith had his thoughts...
He didn’t dare voice them.
Finally, they arrived before a large carriage.
The giant horses pulling it each stood over five meters tall, while the carriage itself was more like a small house than an ordinary carriage.
Keith and Kiro placed the luggage inside before climbing in.
Meanwhile, Devon sat at the front beside the driver.
Around them, numerous guards, each close to breaking through to Rank 0, gathered before the convoy finally began moving.
This large movement naturally alerted everyone inside the castle.
Inside one room that directly overlooked Rasel’s carriage...
A young man with sharp eyebrows frowned.
"What is she doing?" he couldn’t help but ask.
"It won’t matter."
"Even if she reaches her family and gains their support..."
"Nothing will change."
"Our lord is far greater than anyone in this realm."
A deep male voice sounded.
An old man dressed in pristine robes calmly sipped his tea.
The young man closed the curtains before turning toward him with his hands in his pockets.
"You seem rather confident."
"Let me take a wild guess."
"Your lord isn’t from our realm, correct?" the young man asked.
"Correct, Second Prince," the old man replied with a smile.
"Right..."
"Get out."
The young man’s expression turned cold.
The old man looked at him in surprise.
"What... did you say?" he asked.
The young man chuckled.
"Are you already having hearing problems?"
"I mean, you are getting to that age and—"
"Second Prince..."
"Do you know who you’re speaking to?" the old man interrupted.
The young man slowly walked closer as he said.
"Don’t make me repeat myself."
"I am Balog, the leader of the Black Hawk Organ—".., the old man was interrupted before he could even finish.
"And I couldn’t care less," the young man cut him off.
"I am the Second Prince of the Ynvashi Kingdom," he added.
The old man’s expression darkened.
A terrifying aura descended upon the room as he slowly stood up from his seat.
Seeing this, the young man walked even closer.
Even Balog was momentarily stunned by such fearlessness.
Then he smiled.
"Forget it."
"Sorry for disturbing your rest, Your Highness."
Balog turned around and left.
The instant he stepped outside, one of his eyebrows rose.
"It seems he has been pretending all these years."
"He isn’t as dumb and foolish as the rumors claim."
Balog muttered.
---
Meanwhile...
Back inside the room...
"Fuck..."
"Old man, just attack me already."
"Like, won’t you shout about how arrogant I am?"
"Break one of my legs so I won’t disrespect you again."
The Second Prince lamented.
For Leon...
Life was hard.
After all, he had been reincarnated into the royal family after dying on Earth.
At first, he had been overjoyed.
He had been born into a royal family.
Not just any royal family...
But the strongest kingdom in the Mortal Realm.
Only...
That was from the outside.
On the inside...
This place was a jungle.
Everyone was a predator hiding behind masks and camouflage.
You never knew who anyone truly was.
Nor who you could trust.
Everyone wanted to devour everyone else to strengthen themselves.
He had a system.
Unfortunately...
That damned thing had taken more than twenty-five years to activate.
In order to survive this web of schemes and death, Leon had deliberately played the fool.
To everyone else, he spent his days drinking, fooling around with women, and acting completely useless so that no one would see him as a threat.
Yet...
Even then...
Many of the women he had gotten close to had been sent to spy on him or use him.
He endured it over and over again.
It was hard, but the system was worth it.
It had activated a few days ago.
Basically, it was a Counterattack System.
Once he was attacked, as long as he survived, he would gain a level above that of his attacker.
Although it sounded like a dream come true, the condition of having to survive the attack first stopped him from taking any irrational approaches.
After all, if he went around insulting powerhouses and one of them came out and slapped him into a paste...
He would be done for.
That was one of the reasons he had provoked Balog.
Although he was a prince and Balog probably wouldn’t kill him...
Why couldn’t he at least break his legs?
If Balog had done that, Leon would already be at the peak of this realm’s power, and taking the throne would be a piece of cake.
Yes...
Leon was also ambitious.
He wanted the throne...
One competed for by wolves, foxes, and lions.
"Little sister..."
"You are the key piece that will decide who becomes king," Leon muttered as he narrowed his eyes.
"A queen is created by marrying a king..."
"A single princess is merely a prize waiting for someone to claim."
"Changing those rules isn’t something that can be done in a day..."
Leon muttered.
"I want to know what’s giving you that confidence."
"Is your physique really that powerful?"
"Or is that hidden family truly so terrifying?"
As he pondered, Leon instructed his butler to pack everything up before gathering his guards.
They would follow behind his sister.
He knew about her goal.
Part of it had been born from the way her brothers treated her.
Perhaps she had never wanted to become queen.
But being treated as nothing more than a plaything by her brothers...
Only for them to try to kill her once they could not control her...
Who wouldn’t be angry?
Still...
He was the only one who hadn’t taken part in it.
Anyways...
He had ambitions of his own, and he could only achieve them with her help.
But before asking for her support...
He first needed to know exactly who Rasel really was.
Inside his carriage, Leon smiled as he tapped his fingers against the armrest.
His mind was filled with thoughts as his status panel appeared before him.
