Chapter 554: Gift
Whip! Whip! Whip!
Countless astral chains shot through the array formation on the ground, each ending in a sharp hook. They latched onto the edges of the Secret Realm as the chains pulled hard, preparing to shut the realm.
The scene was strangely mesmerizing beneath the midnight sky.
But before the actual process of closing the realm could begin, something strange happened.
A huge amount of energy seemed to be released by the realm as the yellow energy began to dissipate into the surroundings. Gradually, a lighter shade of yellow energy took over and stabilized.
Kid, that's what happens when a realm's tier is lowered. Since many Wyverns died and you killed the Infernal Serpent, the realm's difficulty was reduced. Just wait until that Wyvern named Hidimba comes out. At that time, the realm will degrade to a Purple Tier realm, Gunther spoke in Leo's mind, who was sitting atop Agnivar, who was circling the castle structure and taking in the view of the outside world.
But most people weren't interested in the realm closing because an even more attractive sight was Leo and Agnivar. Most people had already seen realms before, and while opening and closing them was rare, most of those present had witnessed the process at least once.
So, except for newcomers like Leo, most were looking at Agnivar's flying figure in awe.
And Agnivar had currently coated himself in a layer of fire to slowly adjust to the sudden temperature change in the environment; his form looked far more eye-catching against the night sky.
"Wow, it looks so cool..." one of the onlookers muttered in awe.
"You are thinking that?! Think about the person who tamed it while still being below 30!"
"Man, leave that—they are far away... What about these? Damn, they won't eat me, right?" one man said, fearfully looking toward Nyxa, who stood proudly in her 8-to-9-meter form while the elves were seated on her back.
Shyra was, as usual, in stealth, invisible to anyone below Low 4-star, hiding in plain sight beneath the shadow of the huge encirclement walls.
The Lizardmen family sat atop Shyra, patiently observing Zharrissa's expression.
"This environment is good for her. I knew coming out of the realm was the right choice," Thalvyr said, noticing Zharrissa's complexion improve.
She looked exactly as she did during those times when she consumed the Ashveil Essence and became highly resistant to hot environments.
A Wyvern in the sky had become a hot topic. Within moments, high-ranking officials had gathered around the area, and even the City Lord had been informed.
"GET THAT WYVERN!" a wiry man shouted, madness flashing in his eyes.
But at that exact moment, the Wyvern disappeared, and a man came crashing down from the sky.
BAM! Clatter!
Leo landed on the ground with a loud bam, debris scattering in every direction. He landed right beside the man who had shouted.
"You want my beast? Who are you?" Leo asked, looking straight into the official's eyes. The man was merely an ordinary person with strength below Low 1-star.
"Heeek!"
The man staggered backward and collapsed onto his back after Leo suddenly landed beside him from such a height.
Leo didn't want to bother with the man anymore and turned to walk toward Nyxa.
"Wait!" a voice called out.
Leo turned to see a man in a butler's suit flying toward him using wind magic. The man had white hair and looked very old.
"High 3-star..." Leo muttered after gauging the man's strength.
"Kind sir!" The butler stopped directly in front of Leo and extended a letter toward him.
"I am Jubal, Lord Ember's loyal butler," the man introduced himself with a respectful bow.
"I was informed that the top student of Aurelius Beast Academy had taken his noble steps into Ember City—" the butler said as Leo accepted the letter from his hand.
"And it hurt Lord Ember and me very much that we couldn't greet you properly. You already know we were also surprised by a new variable, so I hope you understand," the butler continued, hinting at the dragons.
Leo nodded, signaling him to continue.
"On that account, the City Lord has decided to host a Grand Auction with a top-tier appraiser to determine the true value of any treasure. I suppose Sir Leo managed to secure many high-grade fire-based natural treasures that aren't exactly useful to him. In other words, you require a good place to sell them, and the auction is the best place for it! Not only will the prices be a notch higher than those offered by the academies, but it will also save you the trouble of dealing with unwanted items."
The butler explained.
"The letter in your hand is given only to important figures like you, granting a VIP seat in the auction hall. So please be assured of the best treatment. And..."
The butler leaned forward as though sharing a secret.
"We are terribly sorry for the unpleasant experience you had the night before entering the Secret Realm. Those stupid maids have been given proper punishment, and as compensation, we have arranged a special gift that you might like. Please be assured, if they are unpleasant, you only need to send us a message, and everything will be arranged according to your wishes!" the butler said enthusiastically.
"Actually, you don't nee—" Leo started, only to be cut off by the butler.
"Please sir, let us do something to change the sour taste you had last time. It's only natural that we provide the best service our city is famous for."
With that, the butler bowed, turned, and left, completely refusing to listen to Leo's words.
Young people.
The butler shook his head.
They are always shy about showcasing their desires in public. I bet he is internally over the clouds with the arrangement.
The butler nodded in satisfaction. Throughout his career, he had met far too many hot-blooded youngsters, and this was the best method to appease them.
Huhu, I bet our city's impression in his mind will increase 100-fold after the gift he receives tonight... and 1000 times once the gifts become his permanently.
Leo couldn't even utter a word in response to the butler's enthusiasm. He was left speechless, thinking, is that how young masters are in this world?
He wondered what sort of wild gifts he would receive, though he could already imagine part of it.
The other reason Leo didn't stop the butler was that, from the way the butler spoke, he seemed to be in a hurry.
Probably Zerathra... Leo inferred.
With that, he signalled Nyxa to come toward him and told Shyra to remain in the shadows as they walked toward the place where many other people were turning their captured Kobolts and Lizardmen into slaves.
The slave facility had been constructed inside the circular encirclement because people were bound to capture other races inside the realm and claim them as free slaves according to their capabilities. So this hastened the process and created a positive view of the city.
