Chapter 553: Finally, Out Of The Realm
4 Minutes.
"Phew, on time," Leo sighed in relief.
Though Leo was curious about how the phone had received the message from within a realm.
Was it a planned tactic to check the students' quick thinking? Leo wondered.
Leo couldn't help but turn the phone around a few times, examining it from every angle.
What are the chances that the Empire is using this to spy on us? Leo thought.
Having been in the military in his past life, even though he had only been a foot soldier, he knew some secrets that common people didn't. And that was, there was no such thing as privacy in modern life—even remote tribes weren't safe, so people with smartphones were a lost cause. Where A keypad phone was enough to keep track of a person, a smartphone was a far cry from that.
He immediately shook his head, throwing away the useless thoughts. In his previous life, the common populace could simply not act against the government due to obvious limitations, but this world was different. Leo had the potential—not just potential, but the best of the best potential—to literally grow strong enough to break any attempt to control his life.
He just needed to focus on growing stronger.
With that thought, he headed towards the misty barrier of Realm End. In his 3-day excursion, his one and only regret was not being able to get any XP from the Infernal Serpent's death.
The reason was simple.
>Host didn't land the last hit.
"Fuck, should have danced on top of the serpent's head," Leo muttered regretfully. But that was his only regret, because—
"Well, got a good Kobolt for the experiment." Leo grinned as he leaned over to look at the panicking Kobolt caught in one of Agnivar's talons.
"Lord, what are you going to do with this weak creature? It isn't even fit to be used as a slave." Agnivar looked at the Kobolt.
"Especially this one... it hasn't even acquired any traits of its tribesmen and doesn't show any signs of intelligence."
Kobolt (Low 1-star) - Ordinary Bloodline
Kreeeee....! Krik! Krik!
The Kobolt's cries fell on deaf ears.
It was a plain Kobolt with no distinguishing characteristics at all, and that was exactly what Leo needed. He wanted to raise a bipedal humanoid beast from zero and see where it would go.
There were three other reasons. First, his taming capacity was almost full, and to tame something else, it needed to be extremely weak and unintelligent. This Kobolt was the perfect target.
Second, he had tons to Kobolts cores that he needed to use somewhere.
Third and main thing, Leo felt something from this particular Kobolt that he didn't sense in most others. It wasn't that the many others lacked it; there were others too, but they weren't as 'pure' as this one. Pure in the sense that it hadn't acquired any specific tribe related traits.
It was a feeling he had only started noticing after acquiring Agnivar's draconic traits. Surprisingly, however, Agnivar himself didn't seem to feel anything, or perhaps the sensation was so faint that Agnivar had long since learned to ignore it.
Leo immediately tamed it.
[Tamed Beast Information]

[Darkvision]
- The Kobolt's eyes are naturally adapted to underground life, allowing it to see clearly in complete darkness while remaining highly sensitive to movement within dimly lit environments.
[Keen Smell]
- The Kobolt possesses an exceptionally keen sense of smell, allowing it to track prey, identify familiar individuals, detect hidden creatures, and locate resources across vast tunnel networks.
[Pack Instinct]
- Kobolts naturally excel at coordinated group behaviour. They instinctively synchronise with nearby allies, making hunting parties, ambushes, and defensive formations far more effective without requiring complex communication.
[Faint Draconic Bloodline]
- A trace amount of draconic blood flows through the Kobolt's veins. While its effects are nearly imperceptible, it slightly enhances the body's overall potential and allows the trait to evolve into stronger draconic traits if the bloodline is sufficiently purified or awakened.
Skills:
- None

Leo was immediately overjoyed after seeing the last trait, which simply promised greater potential for growth in the future. Combined with his talent, the Kobolt would become strong in no time.
But the [Pack Instinct] trait was a bit problematic.
Leo wasn't bringing any other Kobolts with him. This simply meant he would need to do some realm explorations in the future to acquire some good subordinates for his tamed beasts.
Kree! Krik! Krik! Kreee!!
The Kobolt cried out once again after getting tamed.
"You know what? Your name will be Krik—No." Leo immediately threw aside the idea of giving it a funny name on a whim. Names were an integral part of beasts... especially one that would likely look human in the future.
But right now, it looked no better than a bipedal, deformed lizard.
"Kazz. That will be your name."
Ding!
Name: ? -> Kazz
Bond: Chain Bond (31% -> 35%)
"Oh? Does being abysmally unintelligent make you unable to recognise your master?" Leo mused upon seeing the low progress on the bond percentage. Then he sent the Kobolt into his spiritual space to deal with it later.
But there was one person who was simply unable to comprehend Leo's thought process.
Is there something wrong with my new lord's head?! Agnivar was left completely baffled after watching Leo tame the Kobolt.
Like a Kobolt. Who does that?
Shouldn't beast tamers have limits on how many beasts they can tame, since it's directly related to the soul? I was already rethinking whether to suggest he tame Ashira, but not only did he tame her, he even tamed a fucking Kobolt?!
"Oi, I can sense your thoughts, and I already told you, I am a special case." Leo calmly reminded him.
Agnivar internally cringed and tried shifting his mind elsewhere. When nothing worked, he immediately started thinking about Ashira and how no one would stop him from having kids with her now.
His mind was successfully diverted.
This time, Leo cringed.
Fuck! Like master, like tamed beast...
1 Minute.
With that, Leo crossed the misty barrier, and the familiar sight of the wide circular enclosure inside the castle welcomed him.
"Which motherfucker takes the last minute to come ou—AAHHHHHH!!"
The guard, who had been getting annoyed by the last participant yet to come out, screamed in horror when Agnivar's long snout suddenly appeared right in front of his face.
The guard collapsed unconscious the very next moment, falling stiff onto his back with his eyes rolled up in pure terror.
The other guards also ran away as the realm's closure procedure automatically began.
