Chapter 519: Behemoth

Chapter 519: Behemoth

The most prominent thing was the tree itself.

[Infernoheart Mango Tree] - Pseudo Yellow-Tier

- The Infernoheart Mango Tree is a rare Fire-element treasure tree that thrives near volcanoes and lava rivers. Its bark resembles cooled obsidian streaked with glowing crimson veins, while its yellowish leaves constantly radiate gentle warmth. The tree absorbs Fire energy from its surroundings and slowly condenses it into every part of its body.

Its wood possesses exceptional heat resistance and is often used to craft staffs, weapon handles, and Fire-attributed artifacts. Even after being cut, the wood naturally conducts Fire energy, making it highly sought after by blacksmiths and craftsmen.

The second thing Leo observed was yellow sap seeping out of the scratch marks on the tree.

[Infernoheart Sap] - Pseudo Purple-Tier

- The Infernoheart Tree produces a thick, yellow, glowing sap saturated with concentrated Fire-element energy. The sap remains warm for years after extraction and is considered highly valuable due to its versatility and potency.

When used in forging, it improves a weapon’s Fire conductivity, durability, and resistance to extreme temperatures. Direct consumption offers a substantial increase in Fire Affinity and cultivation efficiency, but can cause severe internal burns if the user’s body is not strong enough.

The last thing Leo observed was some crystal-like material jutting out of the tree’s bark at various places.

[Emberstone Resin] - Low Green to Pseudo Blue-Tier

- Occasionally, excess sap crystallises beneath the tree’s roots over decades, forming a treasure known as Emberstone Resin. These fiery crystals contain highly condensed Fire energy and are often found embedded within the bark and roots of mature Infernoheart and similar trees.

Emberstone Resin is commonly used as a catalyst in artifact forging and enchantment rituals. Fire-element beasts may consume small pieces to accelerate growth and evolution, while cultivators use it to temporarily increase Fire-element energy density during breakthroughs.

"What the heck?" Leo blurted out in astonishment.

Seeing so many treasures in front of him, he was left dumbfounded.

"Looks like I really need to forgive Dale... but I would still pay a visit to his master."

Saying that, he looked toward the guard protecting these valuable treasures.

Cinderback Behemoth (Pseudo 4-star) — Super Bloodline

It was a huge, almost 8-meter-tall humpback beast that looked like a mixture between a rhinoceros and a boar.

With two crimson molten tusks jutting out from the sides of its mouth and a rhinoceros horn protruding from its forehead, it seemed as if its entire body was made of molten lava crust. In some places, lava-like substances trickled down its back like living vents.

*pic*

Leo started circling the perimeter to formulate a plan of action.

"Hmm, I should be able to bag that whole tree just like the Titanbreath Lotus. In that case, I need to make sure it doesn’t get damaged," Leo muttered as he instructed the Elves and Shyra to move in and distract the beast while he secured the treasure.

As Shyra revealed her presence, the beast was immediately alarmed and rose to its feet.

Its heavy movements made it clear that a single tackle was enough to send any lower-ranked being without proper defenses to the afterlife.

HRRR... HUSH! HUSH!

The beast released a threatening growl and scraped the ground with its hind legs, preparing for a charge.

But Shyra, of course, wasn’t threatened by it and continued her approach, her silent paws padding against the hot rocky terrain.

The beast could sense that Shyra was stronger than itself, and even the two people on top of her were equally powerful. So after scraping its hooves against the ground, it backed away slightly.

But its eyes never left Shyra.

It glanced back toward the treasure tree to make sure it was safe, then sharply turned toward Shyra once again.

HURRR!

All of a sudden, it charged, forcing Naelith and Lyswenna to leap in opposite directions while Shyra herself prepared for the tackle.

Hiss!

Shyra hissed sharply and lunged upward, jumping above the entire height of the charging behemoth and landing smoothly on the opposite side. She then turned gracefully to face the beast, which had just skidded to a halt before turning toward her.

Thwack!

Lyswenna released a precise arrow aimed at the beast’s eyes, but it managed to read the arrow’s trajectory and used its horns to block the attack.

But when Naelith’s arrow struck the beast, it was instantly engulfed in flames.

Hrrraaahhhhh!

It roared and violently shook its body to extinguish the flames. It was relatively unharmed, with only the point of impact showing damage as its outer crust-like armour had punctured and dented at the point of impact. The metallic arrow was already on the verge of melting due to Naelith’s flames coating it

On the other hand, Leo was already standing beneath the [Infernoheart Mango Tree] while in stealth. The behemoth naturally couldn’t sense his presence.

"What’s that?" Leo narrowed his eyes when he spotted several bright orange, mango-shaped objects hanging from the tree.

They were hidden deep within the dense clusters of leaves, making them nearly impossible to notice from afar.

[Infernoheart Mango] - Low Green to Peak Blue-Tier

- The Infernoheart Mango is a golden-red fruit covered in flame-like markings and filled with rich Fire-element essence. Its sweet yet spicy flesh is prized by Fire cultivators.

The fruit naturally accumulates energy throughout its growth, making each harvest highly valuable.

Consuming the mango gradually increases Fire Affinity, improves resistance to heat, and enhances Fire-element energy absorption. Regular consumption can strengthen Fire-based skills and improve compatibility with Fire-attributed beasts, techniques, and treasures.

Leo was immediately delighted after seeing it.

"Hahaha! I forgive you, Dale!" he exclaimed with a hearty laugh.

The mangoes varied in color, with the lowest Low Green-Tier fruits being pale yellow and the highest Peak Blue-Tier fruits being bright red.

It was then that he spotted an unusually bright red fruit. Though it hung at the highest point of the tree, seemingly unreachable by the behemoth’s mouth, it immediately caught his attention.

[Infernoheart Mango] - Low Purple-Tier

"Hoh? It seems the highest this tree can produce must be a Pseudo Yellow-Tier mango... which must be the golden mango this description is talking about," Leo figured.

He also noticed many blunt impact marks and scratches on the tree’s bark, making it clear that the behemoth had been striking the tree whenever a fruit ripened.

Since it was a Pseudo 4-star beast, anything equal to or above Pseudo Purple-Tier would be useful for it.
