Chapter 520: Adjusting The Spiritual Realm
Chapter 520: Adjusting The Spiritual Realm
Ding!
>The Spiritual Realm Environment hasn’t been adjusted to the targeted natural treasure’s habitual preferences. It is advisable to adjust the spiritual realm to suit the environment in which the target treasure is found.
>Not doing so risks the natural treasure of losing its viability eventually.
Leo immediately withdrew his hand from the treasure.
He took out the Jade Slip and immediately contacted Naelith and Lyswenna.
"I will sit down to meditate for a while. Until then, keep the behemoth engaged... or better yet, bring it to its last breath. Remember not to kill it. I need to give the finishing blow."
"Okay!!" both elves responded enthusiastically.
Though they didn’t know why Leo preferred to give the last blow to strong beasts, they didn’t question him, nor were they interested in doing so.
Leo shared the same intent with Shyra, and she immediately started taking a more aggressive approach against the behemoth.
Remaining in stealth, Leo climbed onto the tree for a comparatively safe position and immediately focused on his spiritual space.
He hadn’t interfered with it for a long time and hadn’t even tried forming new islands after his soul was strengthened. Doing something now would be very easy and far less taxing.
He immediately began forming a new island, marking his third island creation. This time, it was a volcanic island with an active volcano rising at its centre.
He focused further and created lava vents that fed a lava river flowing down the mountain, forming a circular ring around it—a ring of molten lava.
That molten lava was then cooled at various points to form a solid crust, while the rest was allowed to freely fall into the empty space of the spiritual realm, where it vanished into oblivion.
The environment around the island became intensely hot, mirroring the conditions of the Secret Realm. However, the heat remained localized to the third lava island, leaving the other two completely unaffected.
This would become the place for flame-type beasts and the storage area for flame treasures such as the Emberheart Mango Tree.
Out of the remaining two islands, the 1st was the Hawaii island used for sightseeing and as a playground for his beasts, while the 2nd served as a storage area for the various items he collected.
Leo purposefully selected all the treasures acquired in the Secret Realm and transferred them to the heated environment of the 3rd island. He did this because even if the system hadn’t said anything about the other treasures, they were still natural treasures that thrived in hot environments. Keeping them in a normal environment would obviously affect their viability, even if it was only slightly within the spiritual realm.
With everything done, Leo finally opened his eyes.
According to his internal clock, around 1 hour 40 minutes had passed.
When he opened his eyes, the first thing he saw was the nearly dead Cinderback Behemoth.
Most of its crusty outer layer had been sliced and diced by Shyra’s sharp claws, while both its eyes had been blinded by metallic arrows shot directly into the sockets. And it seemed that 1 arrow wasn’t enough to blind it, so Lyswenna had actually used more than 5 arrows across both sockets. Her aim was precise, every shot finding its mark as red-hot blood oozed down its face.
And now, instead of molten lava dripping from its humped back, it was real blood.
Many areas were still burning with purple flames, and Naelith had used her fire-resistant reddish vines to bind the beast firmly to the ground.
A truly pitiful state.
Damn, everybody is ruthless around me.
Leo shook his head helplessly.
Though he failed to realize he was also one of them, only a step behind Lily according to the records.
This time, Leo pressed his palm against the tree and tried to take it into his spiritual space.
But—
"What?" He rubbed his forehead as a wave of dizziness washed over him.
It seemed he had used excessive soul power to modify the Spiritual Realm.
At that moment, the system provided the answer.
Ding!
>Host has successfully created volatile materials [hot lava] in his spiritual space. In creating such materials, a higher degree of soul energy is required. Not only that, but to keep them in optimal condition, the host must perpetually consume soul energy at all times, even while asleep.
>It is advised to learn special soul recovery techniques to compensate for the heightened energy use.
"Oh..."
Leo focused inward and discovered that his natural soul energy recovery was only slightly greater than the amount consumed by maintaining the Volcano Island.
This meant it would become much more difficult for him to withdraw and store items in his spiritual space, since doing so also required a certain amount of soul energy.
"Looks like I need to trouble the old man," Leo muttered.
He half-expected Gunther to appear out of thin air and teach him the technique on the spot, because he was damn sure Gunther was following him right now, hidden somewhere in the shadows.
He waited for a few seconds in case Gunther really showed up after sensing his fatigue.
When he didn’t, Leo simply took out an Elasian Bloom flower, plucked 3 petals, and consumed them directly.
3 petals at once, and it didn’t affect him in the slightest.
He had gotten used to it by now.
Curiously, he looked at the remaining 2 petals before glancing toward the elves, who were strengthening the bindings around the behemoth.
"Naelith, Lyswenna, come here," Leo called, and they promptly responded.
He handed them 1 petal each and told them to consume it right there while he stood guard.
"Oh, by the way—"
Leo looked up.
[Emberheart Mango] — Low Purple-Tier
Crack!
The ground beneath Leo’s feet cracked as he jumped upward and plucked the mango.
When he landed, he immediately handed the treasure to Naelith.
"Here, I suppose this should be more than enough for you to break through."
"My L-lord... this is too much..." Naelith muttered, her mouth slightly agape, though her eyes never left the mango.
There was indeed an inherent pull she felt toward the fruit, and she was certain it would help her break through.
"B-but Lord! This was meant to be a reward only after I successfully learn the Fire Tornado skill. I cannot accept it until then."
Even as she said that, she gulped hard.
Her mouth was already watering from the mere sight and aroma of the fruit.
