Chapter 518: Heading Towards The Main Course
Chapter 518: Heading Towards The Main Course
"Full name? Leo is my full name. No surnames," Leo said calmly while still standing atop Ignivorax’s head.
"Really?" Zerathra raised a brow in interest as she gracefully walked toward the spot where Lyswenna had lodged a metallic arrow and threw yet another talisman at it.
"Argh," Igni groaned, but Zerathra didn’t pay any attention to him.
"I really don’t believe you. A human family capable of birthing such a prodigy, and they haven’t been assigned a surname yet?" Zerathra asked.
Since she was inside the realm, she couldn’t gain the benefits of being a higher-realm existence or discern Leo’s thoughts.
As a matter of fact, she couldn’t even use her healing skills or physical actions to dislodge the arrow from Igni’s body, which was the reason she was using the talismans.
The only physical action she could perform was touching things, and she was limited to interacting with foreign materials that came from outside the realm.
Leo noticed it but didn’t say anything. He even refrained from revealing the fact that he didn’t have a family at all.
"That’s really the case. Why would I lie to a noble lady like you?" Leo said.
"Kuku, noble lady, you say? Don’t you hate me for being a dragon like other humans?" she asked, glancing toward Naelith and Lyswenna, who stood guard at the back.
"Interesting, you really seem to treat other races quite well." She looked amused. She had indeed sensed something different inside Leo, and then there was also something guarding him.
"So? I suppose you will let go of my nephews?" she asked.
"Sure, I just wanted to know their names," Leo replied with the same smile.
"Quite courageous, joking in front of me. Well, you’ll know them in the Interacademy Competition anyway." She looked at Leo.
"I thought it would be boring and the dragons would secure a swift victory, but I guess things will be interesting, kukuku. See you later. We have more important matters to attend to inside the realm, and my nephews cannot afford to get any more hurt."
As she spoke, she walked up to Vulcarion and flicked his forehead. Immediately afterward, his body reduced in size and reverted to human form.
Leo noticed that his clothes were of a special kind, perhaps modified spirit clothes, because from the way they appeared on his body, it was clear they would have been destroyed during the transformation otherwise.
Vulcarion sat on the ground, rubbing his forehead and glaring at Leo. He hissed through his teeth, but it only made for a laughable sight with several of his front teeth knocked out.
Leo had already climbed down from Igni’s head, and by now all three dragons had returned to human form. Pyrotrax was in the worst condition. Countless slashes and lacerations covered his body, and several prominent bite marks on his neck continued to bleed profusely.
Leo had already had Shyra deactivate her flames, but the bleeding persisted.
"Alright then, I hope you don’t attack us when we come across each other in the realm again. Because you’ll have all the time you need to settle your scores in the Interacademy Competition. By the way, just so you know, there are many stronger individuals than Vulcarion. Be aware. Kuku."
With those words, Zerathra disappeared from sight, leaving only the three adolescent dragons behind.
Ignivorax and Pyrotrax could only grit their teeth as they unfurled their draconic wings and flew away. But Vulcarion couldn’t hold himself back.
"I will deal with you later, motherfucker. Don’t think I will hold back again when we meet." He snarled, completely convinced that he had misjudged Leo’s strength and been caught off guard.
"I bet you’re using some petty equipment to hide your real strength, like humans are famous for. When the time comes, I will leave nothing of you behind to use any petty equipment."
"Equipment and holding back? Sure. But right now, you should hold back from baring your teeth when some of them are missing," Leo snickered, and Vulcarion instantly covered his mouth.
"Fuck you!"
With that, he immediately flew away.
Leo watched their departing figures.
"Damn, dragons participating in the Interacademy Competition? Looks like they’ll get their asses beat on their debut." Leo chuckled. This year might as well be the first year the dragons would come in human academy competitions, and in their first year itself, they would face Leo.
But internally, he had also made up his mind to make Lily stronger.
Zerathra had said there were stronger individuals than Vulcarion, which meant there were possibly Peak 4-star or even Pseudo 5-star participants.
There was no worry for him since he had just become a Pseudo 5-star, but Lily was still a High 4-star. He needed to get something good for her within these 1 and a half months.
"Maybe the compulsory mission will bear some fruit," Leo muttered before closing his eyes to sense the location Dale had revealed.
"Damn, another 100 kilometers..." Leo muttered before hopping onto Nyxa.
The elves climbed onto Shyra as they began their journey.
Since it wasn’t urgent, Leo didn’t opt to travel on foot this time.
While travelling toward the location, he realised it was pretty deep inside the realm—almost 70 to 80 kilometres in.
"Damn, Dale really pushed himself," Leo muttered, mildly surprised.
This range effectively marked the entry level of Peak 3-star beings, even bordering on Pseudo 4-star and, in rare cases, Low 4-star beasts, such as the Pyroclast Drake Leo had killed.
Dale’s personal strength was barely Low 3-star. This journey must have been extremely difficult for him. Even the air itself was harmful to Dale.
"Maybe his Earth element made him more resistant to such rough environments," Leo concluded, recalling that Dale had mentioned something similar during their second meeting in the trial area.
"Heh, if he’s working so hard, maybe I shouldn’t be too hard on him," Leo said.
As Leo got closer to the location, the environment grew hotter. He even spotted a curved lava river stretching kilometres in length.
"Wait... the location is actually inside the curve," Leo muttered.
If the lava river formed a ’C’ shape, the location was pointing toward its center.
And as he drew nearer, the first thing he spotted was the beast.
Cinderback Behemoth (Pseudo 4-star) — Super Bloodline
But his attention was immediately captured by a 7 to 10-meter-tall tree and three prominent flares shining in his vision.
Which meant there were three types of treasures!
