Chapter 729: Chapter 726: Since You’re Seeking Death, I’ll Grant Your Wish
When Autumn Shelby saw Sierra Sutton suddenly charge out and push Clara Grant aside, she seemed to flinch, as if snapping out of a trance. She wanted to hit the brakes, but it was already too late.
CRASH! The car slammed into Sierra Sutton, who instantly collapsed into a pool of blood.
With a piercing SCREECH of brakes, the car came to a halt. Inside, Autumn Shelby stared blankly ahead, her face deathly pale and her entire body trembling with fear.
Sierra Sutton had pushed Clara Grant with tremendous force. Gritting her teeth, Clara pushed herself up from the ground, never forgetting to shield the small child in her arms.
Seth Quinn and Sarah Shelby, who had been running toward her, heard the sound of the impact and stopped instinctively. 𝑓𝑟ℯℴ𝓂
Only when they saw that Clara Grant had been pushed clear did they break into a run again.
Clara Grant frowned, enduring the stinging pain from the scrapes on her hands and arms, and looked toward the spot where she had been standing.
Her eyes fell upon a large, spreading pool of crimson on the ground, with Sierra Sutton lying in the middle of it!
Clara Grant let out a choked cry, instinctively pressing the baby’s head into her chest to shield him from the horrific scene.
"S-Sierra... Sierra Sutton..." Clara stared at the motionless figure on the ground, calling his name with a voice that trembled with fear.
But Sierra Sutton remained completely still. Tears of fright instantly streamed down Clara Grant’s face. She turned, looking for help, and shouted frantically, "Quick! Call an ambulance! Someone call an ambulance!"
Just then, Seth Quinn and Sarah Shelby reached her side.
"Clara, are you okay?"
"I... I’m fine. Quick, call an ambulance! Sierra Sutton... Sierra Sutton..." Clara Grant shook her head, pointing toward Sierra as tears streamed down her cheeks.
Once she was sure Clara was truly unharmed, Sarah Shelby took the baby from her and cradled him in her own arms. The child was too young; it would be too cruel to let him see such a scene.
At that moment, Rowan Linden also ran over. While not a surgeon, he was a doctor nonetheless. He pulled out his phone to call for an ambulance as he walked over to check on Sierra Sutton’s condition.
Seth Quinn, meanwhile, pulled Clara Grant into a tight embrace, patting her back and murmuring words of comfort. "It’s okay, it’s okay. Don’t worry. Don’t be afraid. I’m here. I’m right here..."
In truth, a chilling fear washed over him. ’I was so close to her, yet when danger struck, I still wasn’t fast enough to get to her and protect her.’
’If... if it hadn’t been for Sierra Sutton just now, she would be the one lying in a pool of blood right now.’
At that thought, Seth Quinn looked toward Autumn Shelby, who was still sitting dazedly in the car. His sharp, hawk-like eyes turned piercingly cold.
He helped Clara Grant to her feet, then strode toward Autumn Shelby.
Reaching the car, he flung open the door and, without an ounce of mercy, yanked Autumn Shelby out.
Autumn Shelby staggered and nearly fell, managing to stay upright only by grabbing the car door.
But before she could regain her balance, Seth Quinn dragged her to the front of the car, to where Sierra Sutton lay on the ground.
With a shove, Autumn Shelby crumpled to the ground.
Seth Quinn crouched down and said coldly, "What’s this, Autumn Shelby? You can feel fear, too? Why weren’t you afraid when you were speeding toward us? Do you have any idea how close you were? A fraction of a second more, and Clara would be the one lying here!
"I don’t care if you were trying to kill Sierra Sutton or run over your own biological son. But what you can’t do is try to harm my woman, time and time again!
"I was going to let you off the hook one more time, to let the Shelby Family off the hook. But you were given a path to heaven and refused to walk it; hell has no gate, yet you insisted on forcing your way in! Fine. Since you’re so intent on courting death, then I’ll be happy to grant your wish."
