When she saw Sierra Sutton walk to the curb to hail a cab while Clara Grant stood by waiting with the baby in her arms, a pang of unease shot through Autumn Shelby.

No matter how she looked at them, they looked just like a family of three.

When she saw the scene of Clara Grant and the baby hugging so intimately—laughing, talking, and trading kisses—that feeling of unease intensified.

’The baby is my own flesh and blood, and Clara Grant is my enemy. Yet he calls Clara "Mama" with every other breath, acting so affectionately with her, while refusing to even spare a glance for me, his own biological mother!’

A rush of blood went to Autumn Shelby’s head, her thoughts turning feverish. She ignored Yvette Zimmerman, who was still trying to reason with her, and turned without thinking toward the driver’s side of the car. Her nerves were stretched taut, and her body was still weak, making her stagger as she walked.

Yvette Zimmerman froze when she saw her get into the car, and Evan Shelby couldn’t help but glance at her as well.

By the time Yvette Zimmerman recovered and looked at her through the window, Autumn Shelby was gripping the steering wheel with both hands, her eyes locked on Clara Grant up ahead.

Confused, Yvette Zimmerman followed her gaze and saw the scene: Clara Grant, holding the baby, laughing happily.

She frowned slightly and looked back at Autumn Shelby in the car. Her lips were pressed into a thin line as she started the engine.

A sudden realization hit Yvette Zimmerman. Her eyes flew wide. She tried to grab the car door to stop her, but it was too late. Autumn Shelby had already slammed her foot on the accelerator and was speeding toward Clara Grant.

Yvette Zimmerman froze. A second later, she screamed with all her might, "Autumn, no, DON’T!... Move! Get out of the way!"

Even Evan Shelby, standing nearby, was stunned into silence. He watched, speechless, as Autumn’s car barreled straight toward Clara.

Just as stunned were the others who happened to be emerging from the Quinn Family home at that exact moment. The crowd watched as the car raced forward, its target unmistakably Clara Grant.

Seth Quinn and Sarah Shelby were the first to react. Shouting Clara’s name, they sprinted toward her in near unison.

When Skylar Hayes realized what was happening, she whispered her daughter’s name, her knees giving out as she nearly fainted from terror.

Marcus Jarvis rushed to catch her, his anxious gaze instantly shifting back to Clara Grant.

Clara Grant seemed to hear someone calling her name. She turned, only to see a car hurtling straight for her. The smile on her face instantly froze.

The car was already terrifyingly close. She wanted to run, but her feet were rooted to the spot. All she could do was instinctively curl her body over, shielding the baby tightly in her embrace.

Sierra Sutton, the closest one to her, was in the middle of hailing a cab. When he heard the shouting, he turned his head, and the sight made him freeze for a split second.

But it only took a second for him to snap out of it. He took off, running faster than he ever had in his life, and sprinted toward Clara Grant and the baby.

Just before the car made impact, he shoved the petrified Clara Grant and the baby in her arms out of the way...
