Chapter 674: Chapter 671: To be honest, I don’t really like him

Seth Quinn’s words left Clara Grant completely stunned. ’Sierra Sutton? Is it the same person, or just someone with the same name?’

As she thought this, she followed his gaze. Amid the bustling crowd, the Sierra Sutton she knew was holding a baby and hurrying diagonally away from them, quickly getting swallowed by the throng of people.

’Seth Quinn actually knows Sierra Sutton?’

The question on her mind slipped out. "You... know him?"

Seth Quinn pulled his gaze back to her and answered, "Yeah. He was brought to the Shelby Family when he was ten. You could say he grew up in their household; he’s basically their adopted son."

Clara was stunned. "The Shelby Family? As in, Autumn Shelby’s family?"

Seth Quinn nodded. "That’s the one. Apparently, he’s the son of a friend of Evan Shelby’s. His parents both died in a car accident, and Evan took pity on the boy and brought him into the Shelby household. So, he’s technically Autumn Shelby’s older brother."

As Seth Quinn spoke, he glanced again in the direction where Sierra Sutton had disappeared, his expression pensive. "However, the word was that he went abroad a year ago. I never heard anything about him coming back. And to think he has a child now."

"A-are you two close?" Clara’s surprise made her stutter.

"Not really. The Shelby Family and my family were quite close back then, but I never paid much attention to any of them. Besides, I don’t know if it was because his parents died so young, but Sierra Sutton was pretty withdrawn and didn’t socialize much."

Seth Quinn shrugged. "To be honest, I don’t really like him."

With that, he took Clara’s hand. "Where else do you want to look around? Let’s go."

Clara’s mind was still reeling from the shock, and she let him lead her forward by the hand.

’Sierra Sutton is a Shelby! He’s Autumn Shelby’s nominal older brother. I can’t believe I spent the entire day with Sarah Shelby’s brother and his child!’

’No, that wasn’t even the point. Autumn Shelby is a terrible person, and so are Evan Shelby and Yvette Zimmerman, but that doesn’t mean everyone in the Shelby Family is.’

’Sarah and Cherie Rhodes are the exceptions!’

’So, even if Sierra Sutton was raised by the Shelby Family, it doesn’t necessarily mean he’s like Autumn and the others.’

’The problem was, Seth Quinn had just stated point-blank that he didn’t like Sierra Sutton!’

’So what will happen if he finds out I just spent a whole day happily hanging out with someone he dislikes? Of course, my intention was to keep the baby company—I felt sorry for him. It was for the baby, not Sierra Sutton.’

’But, even so, would Seth be upset about it?’

’So, should I tell him or not?’

Lost in thought, Clara bit her lip uncertainly and glanced at Seth Quinn beside her.

Seth Quinn felt her gaze and turned to meet her eyes. Seeing her hesitation, he couldn’t help but ask, "Clara, what’s wrong?"

Clara opened her mouth, but in the end, all she said was, "...It’s nothing. I’m just a little tired."

"Tired? Should we head home, then?" Seth Quinn stopped and cupped her face in his hands, his tone questioning.

"Okay," Clara nodded.

...

The next day was Theodore Quinn’s grand birthday banquet. It seemed as if half of Novaria had turned out to wish him a long life.

Those with connections used the opportunity to strengthen them, and those without seized the chance to build them.

Seth Quinn, with Clara Grant at his side, was busy greeting the arriving guests and making polite small talk.

Clara Grant wore the latest floor-length evening gown from a major designer label. Seth Quinn had it custom-tailored to her figure, and it made her look incredibly noble.

Though she rarely wore makeup, today she had a professional, exquisitely done look that accentuated her already pretty face, making her appear even more beautiful and refined.
