Chapter 665: Chapter 662: Went Shopping?

Ignoring the two adults who were still talking, the baby reached out and offered the toy in his hands to Clara Grant. Clara took it, looking at it quizzically. "What’s this, sweetie?" she asked.

The baby was overjoyed when she took it. He pointed at the cake and babbled, "Eee... cakey..."

Sierra Sutton immediately understood his son. He explained to Clara, "That’s his favorite toy. He’s giving it to you so you’ll stay and eat cake with him."

Clara Grant couldn’t help but laugh. "Sweetie, are you sure you’re only one? How does your little head come up with all this? And since you’re being so earnest, how could I possibly say no to your invitation to eat cake?"

With that, she picked up the baby, placed him on the sofa, and started opening the cake box. "Come on, let’s eat some cake and celebrate the birthday boy’s big day."

...

After they finished the cake, the birthday celebration came to a happy conclusion. The little guy, seeming content and joyful, climbed back into Clara’s lap. He first gave her a kiss on the cheek, then reached out a chubby little hand to stroke her face. Opening his tiny mouth, he called out, "Mama..."

Clara froze. Sierra Sutton gave her an apologetic smile and corrected his son. "Sweetie, didn’t Daddy tell you? She’s Auntie, not Mama. Say ’Auntie.’"

But the little guy paid him no mind, still calling out "Mama" with a smile.

After a few more calls, he suddenly opened his tiny mouth in a wide yawn. He then snuggled his little head against Clara’s shoulder and, just like that, fell fast asleep.

Once she was sure he was sound asleep, Clara carried him into the bedroom and gently laid him in his crib.

Clara and Sierra Sutton stepped out of the room, quietly closing the door behind them. Only then did Clara let out a sigh of relief.

"Miss Grant, thank you so much for today," he said. "Even though his mother... couldn’t be here with him, you made up for her absence. I’m truly grateful."

"Mr. Sutton, you’re too kind. I guess the baby and I just clicked," Clara said with a casual smile, waving her hand. "Well, you should stay with the baby. I’ll be going now."

She paused at the door, turning back to Sierra Sutton. "Mr. Sutton, would you mind giving me your phone number? That way, when I miss the baby, I could come visit him sometime, if it’s convenient."

"Of course," Sierra Sutton said, and he quickly recited his cell phone number.

Clara typed the number into her phone and dialed it. "That’s my number calling you," she said. "Mr. Sutton, if you ever need any help, feel free to call me anytime."

Then, she gave him a wave. "Goodbye, Mr. Sutton. I’m off."

With that, she opened the door and walked out.

Sierra Sutton stood in the doorway, watching her leave until her figure rounded the corner and vanished from view.

Sierra Sutton found himself feeling a bit sentimental. ’She’s such a good person,’ he thought. ’Whoever marries her must be the luckiest man in the world.’

...

When Clara returned to Orchidia, the Quinn family residence, she was surprised to find that Seth Quinn still wasn’t home.

She went upstairs, grabbed a change of clothes, and headed into the bathroom for a shower.

The day had been exhausting, and she felt she couldn’t stay awake much longer.

She had just finished her shower and climbed into bed when the bedroom door opened. Seth Quinn was home.

He seemed a little surprised to see her in bed. "You’re back? I thought you’d be out much later."

Clara barely managed to lift her head to look at him, humming in response.

Seth Quinn walked to the edge of the bed and sat down. He stroked her hair and asked casually, "What’s wrong? Worn out? Did you go shopping with Sarah Shelby? Buy anything?"
