Chapter 662: Chapter 659: Grandpa and Grandma Wish Him a Happy Birthday

Before he could finish, his phone started to ring.

Sierra Sutton didn’t look at the screen. He just habitually grabbed his earbuds, put them in, and answered the call. "Hello?"

"Hello, Sierra? It’s me." Yvette Zimmerman’s voice came from the other end.

Sierra Sutton froze for a moment before saying, "Aunt Yvette."

Yvette Zimmerman acknowledged him and asked, "Sierra, where are you and the baby?"

Perhaps still unable to get over Autumn Shelby’s absence today, Sierra Sutton didn’t answer. He just said in a flat but polite tone, "Aunt Yvette, I’m driving right now, so it’s not a good time to talk. If there’s nothing else, I’m going to hang up."

"No, no, no, I have something to talk about," Yvette Zimmerman said hurriedly. "Um, today’s the baby’s birthday, right? Your uncle and I, his grandparents, have just been so swamped we completely forgot. The moment I remembered, I called you right away.

As for Autumn, she really got tied up with something extremely important today, which is why she couldn’t be there for the baby’s birthday. Sierra, please don’t blame her, okay? When she gets back, I’ll have her go find you. I’ll have her explain it to you in person, how about that?"

"Could anything be more important than celebrating her own son’s birthday? Besides, I can’t imagine what could be so ’extremely important’ that she had to do it!"

With Clara Grant still in the car, Sierra Sutton deliberately lowered his voice. It was neither the time nor the place to say more.

"Aunt Yvette, if there’s nothing else, I’m hanging up now."

"Okay, okay. Sierra, don’t forget to tell the baby that his grandpa and grandma wish him a happy birthday. Also, when Autumn gets back, I’ll definitely have her come find you."

Sierra Sutton really didn’t want to respond. But he remembered he had lived with the Shelby Family for ten years. For a decade, he had spent nearly every day with Yvette Zimmerman and Evan Shelby. Before things happened between him and Autumn, they had treated him quite well, so he still maintained his respect for her.

"Thank you. I’ll pass that on to the baby. As for... whether she comes or not, I won’t insist. Goodbye, Aunt Yvette."

Although Sierra Sutton had deliberately lowered his voice, the car was so quiet that Clara Grant still overheard some of it.

She wanted to ask him what was wrong, but then she remembered they weren’t actually that close—at least, not close enough to casually pry into each other’s private lives.

So, she opened her mouth, but then closed it again.

Just then, Sierra Sutton pulled the car to a stop and said to her, "Miss Grant, we’re here."

Clara Grant nodded and got out of the car.

After getting out, she looked up and realized they were in front of a hotel.

She watched Sierra Sutton toss his keys to the valet, tell him to park the car, and then walk over to her. She asked, a little confused, "Mr. Sutton, you and the baby... are staying in a hotel?"

"Yes. Miss Grant, you’ve been holding him for so long, you must be tired. Let me take him." As he spoke, Sierra Sutton reached out to take the baby from her arms.

But as soon as his hands touched the baby’s little body, the little one, who had been sleeping soundly, immediately let out a disgruntled murmur and snuggled even more tightly into Clara Grant’s embrace.

Clara Grant and Sierra Sutton exchanged a helpless look. "I’d better be the one to carry him up," she said.

To be honest, she was a bit tired, but the sight of the adorable baby made her heart melt.

In the elevator, Clara Grant voiced her question. "Mr. Sutton, didn’t you say the baby’s mother is in Novaria? You two... aren’t living together?"
