“Twelve hundred in one go…”

Hearing that pleasant system chime, Rowan’s eyes lit up.

Back when that unlucky old man Titan’s blood pressure had been at its peak, he’d only given about that much.

He never expected that Kagemaru would hand over this much at halftime!

All Rowan could say was that the mastermind behind the Seven Stars incident had earned his reputation. A true veteran dragon among men, mature and steady!

He immediately decided to help draw a nice steep slope on the runway where the old man’s heart monitor was taking off!

“If that Set card on your field can’t stop my next attack, then this Shadow Duel ends here!”

“Relinquished, direct attack! Cerulean Skyfire!”

With a wave of Rowan’s hand and a face full of spring-breeze cheer, the sallow-yellow head of Hamon, Lord of Striking Thunder, in front of the dark green Relinquished on his field was made to open its jaws!

It swiftly released a giant bolt of blue lightning into the black clouds above!

“CRACK!!”

The next second, an even larger blue bolt came crashing down, aimed at the mechanical life-support machine where Kagemaru sat!

“Activate Set card! Trap, Waboku! This turn, all battle damage I would take becomes zero!”

Kagemaru hurriedly called out.

The lone Set card on his field flipped up at once!

It showed a Trap with an image of three women in blue cloaks praying for peace!

“HUMMM!!”

A burst of white energy light rose from the card and formed a protective barrier around the mechanical life-support machine.

It blocked the blue thunderbolt at once, the attack Relinquished had launched using the power of Hamon.

“Blocked it, huh.”

Rowan raised an eyebrow and muttered, not the least bit surprised.

If anything, he hoped the other side would hold out a little longer!

That way, he could farm a few more Emotion Points.

Across the field, Kagemaru let out a slight breath, his face still ugly.

If that lightning from the Sacred Beast Hamon, Lord of Striking Thunder, had landed, his life-support machine would certainly have been smashed to pieces.

And he would have been destroyed along with it, in an instant!

Fortunately, having learned from the precedent of Uria being seized first, he had cautiously Set a defensive Trap ahead of time.

Even so, Kagemaru’s expression remained wretched.

Especially after seeing Rowan use Hamon’s power through Relinquished to turn around and attack its original owner.

The old man’s face turned an even darker shade of green.

“That ends my turn.”

Rowan simply ended his turn.

He didn’t even Summon Kinka-byo again to use the earlier combo with the Mystic Piper in his Graveyard and draw an extra card or two.

After all, he still had a full five cards in hand!

Draw any more, and one careless move would leave him with too many.

“Unforgivable! To seize my Sacred Beasts one after another and ruin my plans!”

Seeing that Rowan had so many cards he wasn’t even bothering to draw more, Kagemaru ground the words out through clenched teeth.

His own miserable state, with no cards in hand and nothing on the field, formed a stark contrast with Rowan’s!

“My turn, draw!”

“Next, I activate the effect of the Field Spell Fallen Paradise! While a Sacred Beast is on the field, I can draw two more cards!”

Inside the life-support machine, Kagemaru controlled the mechanical arm with his brainwaves. After his normal draw, he pulled two more cards from the Deck on his Duel Disk and added them to his hand!

“Doesn’t Chairman Kagemaru look a little older again than he did before?” Alexis Rhodes said suddenly, as though she had just noticed something.

She could faintly hear it in the old man’s aged voice.

After Rowan had seized the second Sacred Beast, Hamon, Lord of Striking Thunder, with his bizarre named moves, the energy in it seemed to have noticeably dropped off.

“He really does look a little older!”

Chancellor Sheppard and Professor Crowler, who were also watching from the sidelines, spotted the change at once and nodded in surprise.

Now that Rowan had taken Hamon under his control with his Golden-Eyes Idol, the Sacred Beasts could no longer absorb the life force of the Duel Spirits throughout the whole real Duel world and feed it back to Kagemaru.

On Kagemaru’s face, which had grown a little younger, one or two obvious wrinkles had reappeared.

Still, part of the life force fed back earlier seemed to remain in his body.

Compared with the state of a man over a hundred years old at the very start, he still looked younger.

But the moment they thought of this, the expressions of Chancellor Sheppard, Zane Truesdale, Bastion, and the others turned strange again.

They couldn’t shake the feeling that if it weren’t for that leftover life force, this misguided old Chairman Kagemaru would very likely have already been sent off by Rowan’s nasty Deck, with his blood pressure blowing past the limit and a brain hemorrhage to finish the job…

“Brat, the power of the Sacred Beasts is far more than what you’ve seen so far. Let me teach you that lesson!”

At the same time, Kagemaru, his face still black, went on speaking.

He immediately had the mechanical arm slap a card from his hand onto the Duel Disk!

“I Special Summon Chaos Summoning Beast in Defense Position!”

“Skree!!”

A faint light flared, and a jet-black, strange demon figure, half man and half fiend, appeared.

It let out an eerie cry as it emerged in a half crouch, in a defensive stance, atop the giant card projection in front of Kagemaru!

[Chaos Summoning Beast] [Level: 1] [Attribute: DARK] [ATK: 0] [DEF: 0]
