Chapter 63 - Practices
Viktor jumped and immediately swung the axe in a horizontal manner so that it struck squarely at the back of the black zombie’s neck.
Splatt!!
It was surprising to see that he managed to instantly decapitate the monster’s head with his new weapon. A second later, the headless body finally dropped to the ground; it died.
The monster, which was supposed to be completely bulletproof, unexpectedly turned out to be so easily handled by the current Viktor, without much effort required on his part.
[Viktor Romanov]
[Strength – 29(33)]
[Agility – 49 ]
[Endurance – 30]
[Battle Power – 36(37)] [Spirit Force – 50]
[Earth realm – middle stage]
He quickly checked his stat and apparently, his initial guess was right. The axe wasn’t only sharp, but it also gave him a boost of strength-.
<There was a magic rune placed on the axe which boosted strength> the Djinn’s voice reverberated in his mind, answering the question he had.
A big smile was etched on his lips as he heard the new piece of information, The new yet full of danger world where he currently lived turned out to become more and more interesting every day.
The extra 4 points of strength the axe contributed made Viktor feel much lighter when he swung the weapon around. In fact, it was like swinging a tree branch in the air. However, unlike a tree branch that would break when it struck something hard, the axe delivered a tremendous amount of damage to his opponent, which honestly felt amazing to him.
Viktor’s excitement started to flare up as he could not wait to try his new weapon further against various different opponents. The look on his face was more than enough to tell everyone that he was more than ready to carry out a mass killing of the undead.
Viktor still had 10 unallocated bonus points, but knowing how instantaneous the upgrade was, he thought it would be a good decision to keep the points for now as a trump and use them later on when the situation needed him to do so.
After confirming his stats numbers were correct, he immediately proceeded to do what he had previously planned: sweep through the city and carry out an operation to clean up the undead roaming around.
It didn’t take too long before every undead in town finally noticed the group’s presence. Not long after, dozens of the undead rushed toward him and the party like a massive zombie wave.
Torri quickly broke away from the group in search of a vantage point for him to utilize. He found a good position on top of the roof of one of the second story houses and started shooting the wave of undead with his assault rifle in high precision.
As his battle skill had increased, his eyesight and accuracy improved as well. The man started shooting in a single fire mode and kept getting headshots like a professional avant-garde sniper in a war. Every time gunshots rang out in the air, the others in the group would inevitably see the zombies knocked down dead as their heads were penetrated by a bullet.
In the meantime, Boris shot forward and clashed against the undead in close quarter combat.
At first, the man was struggling a bit against the dozens of zombies around him, dodging and fighting with his knife; yet gradually his years of experience started to shine and seemed to have paid off as he started to use the surrounding area to his complete advantage.
He jumped in between houses and launched a surprise attack on each corner, killing all the zombies that chased him one by one. The man showed no mercy at all, as he only focused on how to banish all the undeads back to the dead as fast as possible.
Meanwhile, it seemed Barry and the princess were in a completely different dimension with the rest of them. The two camped out in one of the bigger houses, handling any stray zombie that headed in their direction with the blue husky helping them.
After receiving a crash course on swordsmanship from Torri, the kid now had to use what he managed to learn in that short period of time and get used to swinging a sword in real battle.
At the moment, he was busy practicing his sword skill with determination, while the girl learned to shoot. Both of them did the training seriously.
They were struggling against the few zombies coming in their way, but with Torri on top of the roof, Boris and Viktor pulled out crowds outside where less zombies came toward them, the danger was lowered to some extent. They managed to form a good training ground for the two.
Realizing his companion’s capabilities, Viktor gave a sign to the Djinn as he was ready for the next battle to reach the victory soon.
“Now is a good time Djinn!” he shouted.
<Alright, now watch my greatness once again>
Ooowwwwooooo!!!
The blue husky suddenly brought its head high to the air and howled loudly. Then a few seconds later, six mutated wolves could be seen charging towards the incoming undead.
They were faster than the red ones and stronger than the black ones. This quickly turned the tides to their favor, one step closer to the victory.
Boris and Torri started walking on the main street of the town, killing the remaining undead left and right together with the mutated wolves as if they were showered with a massive energy and desire to kill. Then, within minutes, none of the undeads were still left standing by them.
Viktor took the life of the last black zombie, and after that, he finally received a notification.
[You have received one point in endurance]
It was a good ending for today’s raid.
Viktor saw Boris and Torri bumping hands and hugging each other, laughing their hearts out, while the two rookies Eva and Barry were still panting and trembling. It must have been a scary situation for them, yet they couldn’t hide their relief after all the chaos they’ve been through.
Finally, knowing only an hour or two left before the sunset, Viktor chose one of the largest buildings to camp out for a night. There was one nearby, a two storey library slash town hall building.
Viktor quickly told everyone to secure the building and also to not forget picking up all the spirit stones laying around. After all, he himself had other activities to do.
[Metal extraction]
[20 low-level metal essence extracted]
[Metal forged successfully]
[Core of Anvil – Stage 3: 0.03%]
It was such a chore and Viktor hoped he could ask people to do it for him. Unfortunately, he couldn’t.
He walked around for an hour extracting all the metal he had collected; a dozen cars, steel gate things that could fill half of his stage 1, but now that he’s starting his stage three, he only got slightly above 1%.
Oh my God.. is this for real!?”
Viktor almost thought that the hour he spent was not worth it with the return.
He then stumbled on one particular building that interested him.
“That should have lots of thick metals.”
It was a local branch bank, but as the night was already near, his lazy nature also resurfaced.
“I’ll do it tomorrow.”
He returned to a served dinner and some warmth. The group had a little laugh about what happened today. Until all of a sudden, the blue husky roused from its position and barked in an alarming way.
“Woof woof”
<Danger is coming, watch out!>
Before Viktor asked how many, he felt the ground was shaking and the Djinn said,
<Thousands of them>
[Critters – Abyss creature – level 20]
[Battle power 20]
“What the hell is an abyss creature?!”
