Wu dong Qian Kun: I, Lin Langtian, Refuse to be a Supporting Character
Chapter 766: Final Victory
Lin Langtian lifted his head, staring into the dense tide of yellow sand pressing in from all directions, feeling the crushing spiritual pressure contained within it. His gaze grew slightly more solemn.
Song Zang, it seemed, was no easy opponent.
Boom!
Without a hint of hesitation, Song Zang swept out his sleeve.
The vast flood of sand closed in from every side like a pair of giant hands, slowly tightening around the towering Myriad Phenomena Demonic Body.
Under such force, even a Sovereign Avatar might well be crushed to pieces on the spot.
Whoosh, whoosh!
The world-shaking assault roared down.
Lin Langtian’s face remained indifferent as his hands formed seals.
Behind the Myriad Phenomena Demonic Body, two drums pulsing with thunder and flame shot into position.
Sovereign divine art: Thunderfire War Drums.
Dong! Dong! Dong!
The Thunder Drum and Flame Drum boomed like heaven’s own thunder.
Bolts of demonic lightning and torrents of demonic flame poured forth, swirling around the Myriad Phenomena Demonic Body until a hundred-meter radius around it was covered in a storm of thunder and fire.
The yellow sand crashed into that zone.
Bang! Bang!
But the instant the sandstorms entered the thunderfire field, they abruptly detonated, exploding into showers of shattered grains before they could get within reach of the black giant.
The chain of blasts rolled across the sky in an unending wave.
The Thunder Drum and Flame Drum seemed to form an indestructible barrier.
No matter how wildly the sand surged, it could not draw near the Myriad Phenomena Demonic Body.
The heavens boomed with constant explosions, yet only that demon-god-like Avatar remained unmoved, standing calm in the heart of thunder and flame.
No matter how the world burned, it did not bend.
Slowly, all other sounds faded.
The smiles on the faces of the Domain of Chaos leaders stiffened, freezing in place.
Silence fell across the battlefield, broken only by the staccato bursts of sand exploding in midair.
Dong, dong.
Yellow sand hammered down like a storm, yet every grain that crossed into the lightning and flame shattered without exception.
The ferocity of the attack was undeniable—but it simply could not touch the black colossus within.
Hiss.
After a long, stunned quiet, the first sharp intakes of breath spread through both armies.
No one had imagined that Song Zang’s meticulously prepared killing formation would be stopped so completely.
This opponent was far, far deeper than he appeared.
Even Qian Tian’s eyes narrowed slightly.
From his golden throne, the Sect Master regarded the Myriad Phenomena Demonic Body beneath Lin Langtian’s feet, something like contemplation glinting in his gaze.
Bang, bang.
The relentless detonations in the sky gradually weakened and died away.
The raging yellow sea lost its momentum and finally dispersed.
True silence returned at last.
Standing atop the Sandfall Avatar, Song Zang watched the uninjured demonic giant in the distance, his expression growing darker.
He drew in a deep breath, forcing down his frustration. “To emerge from a lower plane and reach this level… you’re worthy of the stories,” he said quietly.
In his heart, he finally marked Lin Langtian as a lifelong enemy.
Hands still folded behind his back, Lin Langtian looked back at him and flicked his sleeve. “Since you’ve come all this way,” he said softly, “it would be rude not to return the courtesy. Take a move from me.”
Roar!
The Myriad Phenomena Demonic Body threw back its head and roared, the Thunder Drum and Flame Drum booming even louder.
Thunder slurry and molten rock-like flame gushed out, flowing over the black Avatar like streams of liquid light.
In moments, the entire giant was encased in a crystalline coat of lightning and fire, every inch of its form flickering with destructive radiance.
Dong!
The colossal body stomped once and shot skyward in a streak of black light, reappearing above Song Zang in the blink of an eye.
Without the slightest hint of restraint, the twin thunderfire drums in its hands crashed down.
Boom!
The torrent of power shattered the sky, leaving spiderwebs of black cracks hanging in the air like broken glass.
Lin Langtian had poured everything into that blow—his own strength, the full force of the Avatar, and the might of thunder and flame combined.
The descending drums filled Song Zang’s sight.
His face twisted at last.
“So you leave me no choice,” he muttered. “I had hoped to keep one ace in reserve… but it seems I’ll have to show you everything.”
Boom!
Spiritual power exploded from him again as his hands flew through another series of seals.
His low shout rang out across the sky.
“Sandfall Guard!”
A fresh surge of power erupted from the Sandfall Avatar, forming an extra shell of densely packed golden sand around it.
The new layer radiated a deep, heavy pressure, hard as reinforced steel.
The thunderfire drums did not falter.
They smashed into the Sandfall Guard with unstoppable force.
Bang!
The sky shuddered as fractures spread across the golden barrier, light streaming through like lightning from beneath ice.
Moments later, the guard shattered layer by layer, and the thunderfire drums forced their way through.
Bang, bang!
The Sandfall Guard crumbled all the way down, but each broken layer was replaced by fresh sand, constantly bleeding off the drums’ power as the two walls ground against each other.
Everyone watching held their breath.
Most had expected this third duel to pale beside the first two.
Now it was clear that this was the deadliest of them all.
The thunderfire drums continued to drive forward, intent on smashing through the defenses and crushing Song Zang outright.
The Sandfall Guard broke eighteen times in succession before the last of its layers cracked apart.
Only then did the Sandfall Avatar’s true body emerge, Song Zang still standing straight upon its crown.
Cold light flashed in Lin Langtian’s eyes as he drove what remained of the drums’ power down toward him.
Song Zang’s head snapped up, dazzling light flooding his pupils.
His seals shifted.
The storm of sand coiling around the Avatar solidified into a forest of long spears, erupting upward to meet the descending drums.
Clang!
Thunder and flame exploded where they struck, forcing Lin Langtian’s eyes to narrow.
This time, the resistance he felt from Song Zang’s power was clearly stronger than before.
The twin drums’ descent ground to a halt.
A hard tremor ran through the spears of yellow sand—and then the drums were forced back.
Lin Langtian recalled them to the Myriad Phenomena Demonic Body’s back, his gaze sharpening on his opponent.
Song Zang’s robes fluttered in the eddies of power.
He lifted his head again, eyes blazing.
His spiritual power surged outward, no longer contained.
Boom!
The world itself seemed to fall silent as his aura climbed higher, pulsing outward in ever-stronger waves.
Gasps tore through the armies in a growing wave.
“That pressure… he’s crossed into Fourth-Grade?!”
“That’s Fourth-Grade Sovereign, no mistake!”
“He was still hiding his strength?!”
“Fourth-Grade at the commander level… That’s almost on par with a King’s might!”
The exclamations piled up one on another as comprehension spread.
“Fourth-Grade Sovereign,” the Third Elder muttered, his brows knitting. “So the Domain of Chaos truly came ready for anything.”
A Fourth-Grade commander in a duel meant for their rank was a blatant breach of the spirit of the wager.
No wonder Song Zang had stayed low-key until now.
This moment was what he’d been saved for.
But the board was already set.
Now everything rested on Lin Langtian alone.
In midair, Lin Langtian’s lips pressed into a thin line as he kept his gaze fixed on Song Zang.
So the man was truly Fourth-Grade.
No wonder there had always been something unfathomable about him.
Song Zang rose slowly into the air above his Avatar, the wind tugging at his sleeves.
He stared at Lin Langtian with the keen focus of a blade.
“In all these years,” he said quietly, “you are the first to force me this far with only half-step Third-Grade strength.”
“So, in return, I’ll defeat you with my strongest hand.”
His palms came together gently.
A subtle tremor passed through his hands.
Threads of blood seeped from his pores, streaming into the waiting sands below.
The grains drank in the crimson fluid, flushing dark red in a matter of heartbeats.
A feral, violent aura rose from the field of bloodstained sand.
Gasps rippled across both sides.
“That’s… the Blood Sandfall Hand, the Domain of Chaos’s top-tier divine art!”
“Using that will cripple his body for a month. He’s going all in.”
“Then that Lin Langtian is in real danger now.”
As the whispers swelled, Song Zang’s face grew paler, pain flickering at the corners of his eyes.
Thick blood energy streamed from his palms, drenching the sky in scarlet mist as the sand above turned a deep, ominous red.
Lin Langtian’s expression hardened.
Even from here, he could sense the danger coiling in that blood-soaked domain.
“So this is your final stroke.”
His tone remained calm.
He had weathered more lethal storms than this before.
A single blood-burning technique, however fearsome, would not shake him.
His hands blurred through a fresh set of seals.
Eight distinct streams of power—ice, lightning, flame, darkness, and more—flared to life within him.
Behind him, his Sovereign Sea surfaced from the void, churning with eight different energies.
Gasps rose fresh from the ranks.
Those with sharp senses could hear it clearly: eight distinct elemental forces thrumming in that sea.
This youth from a lower plane had somehow fused eight attributes into his spiritual power.
No wonder he could face a Fourth-Grade Sovereign head-on.
Above, Song Zang’s section of sky had turned fully scarlet, even his eyes glowing red.
He drew a slow breath of the blood-tinged air, then snapped his hands outward.
Boom!
The blood sand surged together behind him, forming a massive crimson shadow.
A colossal hand, thousands of meters across, emerged from it, radiating a stench of blood so thick it made the skin crawl.
The hand dropped like a falling mountain.
All across the battlefield, people held their breath.
Even veteran Fourth-Grade Sovereigns would not take such an attack lightly.
And now all eyes turned as one toward Lin Langtian’s solitary figure.
What would he do?
Under that crushing weight, his hands flashed through the final sequence of seals.
Boom!
A thunderous roar burst from the Sovereign Sea behind him as it rose into a towering storm.
Bang, bang, bang…
One after another, massive pillars of energy erupted from its surface, wreathed in lightning, flame, darkness, and more.
There were eight in total.
Each was formed from a different attribute, every one radiating terrifying destructive force.
The pillars surged out of the sea and came to a halt above him, hanging in the air like eight dormant beasts.
Their combined aura washed across the battlefield, stripping the sky clear of the stink of blood.
Eyes went wide in shock.
They could all feel it now—this strike would be anything but simple.
To combine eight elements in a single blow… the resulting devastation was unimaginable.
“Can he really stop it…?” someone whispered.
Even the Domain of Chaos leaders leaned forward.
For a heartbeat, the world held its breath.
Hum!
The eight pillars locked into formation, weaving together.
Lightning crackled over roaring flames; darkness coiled around freezing cold.
Eight powers fused as one, forming a single, vast domain of destruction hanging over the battlefield.
The spiritual storm it unleashed tore at space itself as it spun.
Every face below reflected the same realization.
This would decide everything.
