Wrong Love, Final Goodbye: She'll Never Look Back
Chapter 442: Kidnapping
Chapter 442: Chapter 442: Kidnapping
The escort vehicle was traveling on the county road, with four prisoners squatting in the compartment, their hands cuffed backward and bound to the safety bars on both sides.
Shiv huddled in the corner closest to the rear of the vehicle. He hung his head, looking honest, but his eyes gleamed with mischief as he glanced at the two policemen in the front,
one dozing, the other turning his head to look out the window. The deputy sat in the passenger seat, flipping through his phone without signal, cursing a few times.
Shiv secretly kicked the prisoner next to him, giving him a meaningful look.
The man immediately got the hint, discreetly moved to block the view of the police in the front, while Shiv curled his tongue and spat out the thin wire hidden under his gum.
With a slight release of his mouth, the thin wire fell into his hand, he felt for the lock and expertly twisted it twice. There was a click and it was open. He silently flexed his wrist and reached over to unlock the handcuffs of the other three.
They exchanged glances, then Shiv started shouting about a stomachache.
"Officer... my stomach hurts so bad..."
"Officer... my stomach hurts..."
The policeman dozing in the front row was awakened, frowned and looked back at him: "Bear with it."
"I can’t... I’m really going to make a mess... I can’t hold it... then I’ll do it right here in the vehicle!"
The prisoner next to him shouted in distress about the terrible smell.
"Officer! He’s going to let it out! It’s gonna stink! Don’t let him go here!"
The sleepy policeman woke up too, worried that Shiv might actually mess up the vehicle.
After all, they had to travel for several more hours, who could endure the smell along the way?
"Deputy, maybe we should pull over and let him take care of it? If he does it here, the smell for the next few hours..."
The deputy glanced back at Shiv, who was curled up, face covered in cold sweat, lips pale, not looking like he was faking it.
The deputy frowned, put away his phone, and muttered: "Damn it, so many issues. Pull over."
The vehicle pulled over.
The deputy pushed open the car door, jumped out, circled to the back compartment, pulled out the key, and bent down to unlock Shiv’s handcuffs.
Another policeman followed out, instinctively drew out his gun, held it in his hand, standing two steps behind the deputy to guard against any incident.
Just as the deputy’s key was about to reach the lock hole, Shiv suddenly sprang up, thrusting the thin wire directly into the deputy’s throat, his expression fierce and his actions rapid as he snatched the deputy’s gun.
The nearby policeman with the gun realized, shouted: "They’re trying to escape!"
At the same time, he was about to fire, but the other three prisoners rushed him.
Yet, the other two policemen immediately provided support, several gunshots were heard,
Shiv was too busy to care about his accomplices, he fired two random shots and dashed into the wild brush next to the road.
"You’ll never catch me!" He spat fiercely to the side.
He ran madly forward, not daring to stop for a moment, only feeling pain when he stumbled into a ditch in the dark; something scraped his shoulder, glancing down, a layer of blood was seeping through his clothes.
But now wasn’t the time to rest, he had just floored a cop, surely they’d pursue him relentlessly.
Shiv noticed a bridge ahead, its entrance overgrown with weeds, dark inside just suitable for hiding.
He slipped into the bridge and squatted down, took out the gun he had seized from the policeman and checked it, there were still several bullets in the magazine.
Just as he was about to sit down and catch his breath, he suddenly heard a noise next to him.
Shiv quickly turned his head to look, deep in the bridge, under a pile of dead grass, curled a little kid, seven or eight years old, chubby, face covered in tears and snot, staring at him with frightened eyes.
Buddy saw him looking over, shivered in fright, and huddled further back.
Shiv squinted at him for two seconds, then grinned: "Little brat, what are you doing here?"
Buddy was too frightened to speak, lips trembled for a long time before squeezing out a few words: "I’m... I’m looking for my dad..."
Just then a woman’s voice came from outside, getting closer.
"Buddy! Buddy—"
Buddy’s eyes suddenly lit up at the sound.
It’s Ms. Sinclair!
He opened his mouth to shout. Shiv grabbed him and covered his mouth tightly, lifting Buddy right up from the ground with his strength. Buddy struggled a couple of times, Shiv pulled the gun out and pressed it to his head.
"Fatty, move a bit more and you’re dead."
Buddy, being just a child, was scared stiff and dared not move.
Shiv looked through the gaps in the weeds, saw the woman outside, his eyes rolled and suddenly he had an idea. He grinned with a sinister and cold smile.
He leaned close to Buddy’s ear with a menacing threat.
"Fatty, do as I say, or I’ll put a few holes in your head—"
