Chapter 462: You Should Get Your Head Checked

The Blackwood Family Villa.

Anna Nash emerged from her bath, clad in a small slip dress, and sat down to begin her skincare routine.

Despite having given birth, Anna maintained her looks very well. Her skin was as smooth as porcelain, and she was undeniably beautiful. Any other man, upon seeing this, would have been unable to resist pouncing on her.

Behind her, Silas Blackwood’s gaze was glacial. ’He really wished he could just strangle this woman, Anna Nash.’

Anna dressed like this at home every day. He didn’t know if she was trying to seduce him, but he didn’t have the ability anymore.

Silas Blackwood walked over and slapped a document down in front of Anna. "Sign this."

"What is this?" Anna picked it up and saw the words "Divorce Agreement."

She looked up in surprise. "You want to divorce me?"

"This marriage was a product of your scheming in the first place. Don’t think that just because you had my child, you’ve successfully married into a wealthy family. Get the hell out of here now. We’ll go get our divorce certificate tomorrow!"

A cold smile tugged at Anna’s lips. She hadn’t expected Silas Blackwood to be in such a hurry.

’She knew it. Once the baby was born and she was no longer useful, Silas Blackwood would kick her to the curb without a second thought.’

"A divorce is fine. But what about the division of assets?"

After all, Anna had no feelings for Silas Blackwood anyway.

"You still want assets? You must be dreaming! You venomous woman, I knew you were only after my Blackwood family’s money. I’m telling you, you won’t get a single penny!"

He wasn’t afraid of Anna getting a lawyer. After all, he had no money to his name; it was all with his father, so it wouldn’t be considered marital property.

"Silas Blackwood, don’t be so ruthless."

"Who’s the ruthless one here? Anna Nash, if you know what’s good for you, get out."

With that, Silas Blackwood went out to sleep on the bed outside the room.

Anna stared at the divorce agreement, a sinister glint flashing in her eyes.

After finishing her skincare, she saw Silas on the other bed, pulled back the covers, and lay down beside him.

Late that night, the baby in the nursery began to cry again.

The noise must have disturbed the man sleeping nearby, as Silas Blackwood’s impatient voice cut through the air. "Aren’t you going to check on him? All he does is cry, cry, cry all day and night!"

Anna sat up and went out.

Even though it had been a month or two, the swaddled baby was still so small, so ugly.

Anna looked at the child without a trace of affection.

’This is just my stepping stone into a wealthy family. His existence is also a potential threat to me.’

The baby continued to wail. Anna watched him with indifference, then reached out and placed her hand on the child’s neck.

The baby was so small; Anna could encircle his neck with one hand. Viciousness filled her eyes. With just a little pressure, the baby would surely die.

’I’m pregnant with Caleb Blackwood’s child now; this baby is useless. And since Silas Blackwood wants a divorce, I’ll make him regret it for the rest of his life!’

Anna tightened her grip. The baby’s cries grew more frantic. "WAAH WAAH..."

The noise was so loud that Silas, unable to bear it any longer, came out. "Anna Nash, didn’t I tell you to soothe the baby? What on earth are you—"

He stopped when he saw that the baby in Anna’s arms was on the verge of suffocating. Seeing her hand clamped around his neck, Silas rushed over and shoved her away. "What are you doing?!"

Silas quickly picked up the baby, only to find him motionless.

"Doctor! Call a doctor, quickly!"

The baby’s health was already poor, and they had only just brought him home.

In the dead of night, the hospital’s doctor was called over once again to save the child.

The doctor said, "The baby nearly died from suffocation. Thankfully, you brought him in just in time. However, he’s not out of the danger period yet. And because of the asphyxiation, there may be other damage to his body."

Silas Blackwood raised his hand and slapped Anna hard across the face.

"You bitch!"

"You actually tried to strangle my child! Are you trying to end my Blackwood family line?!" Silas’s eyes were bloodshot as he glared viciously at Anna.

"If I hadn’t come out in time, my son might have died. Vicious woman, you’re a lunatic!"

’What a shame the baby didn’t die.’

Silas Blackwood assumed Anna had tried to kill the baby to make him regret asking for a divorce. He would never let Anna near the child again!

Anna spent the night at the hospital before returning to the Blackwood residence.

Mrs. Blackwood had already heard about the incident. The moment Anna returned, another slap landed on her face. "You bitch! If anything happens to my grandson, I won’t be done with you!"

Anna let out a cold laugh. "Oh? If something happens to him, are you going to go with him?"

"Are you cursing me to die?" Mrs. Blackwood was even more livid. She moved to strike Anna again, but Anna gave her a hard shove. Mrs. Blackwood fell to the floor and began to wail and throw a tantrum right there.

Anna watched her coldly. ’Mrs. Blackwood won’t be holding onto her position for much longer.’

...

Quentin Blackwood stayed by Ivy Sherwood’s side for two days before having to temporarily return to Aethelgard for work.

Ivy made another trip to the hospital to pick up some prenatal medication and unexpectedly ran into Silas Blackwood.

"Ivy Sherwood." Silas looked at her, his eyes filled with deep emotion.

This was the face he had adored for so long, the face he had searched for, for so long.

Every time he saw it, he felt his heart race, like a first love. He couldn’t tear his gaze away from her.

"Can I help you?" Ivy was cool and detached, showing no intention of engaging in a long conversation with Silas Blackwood.

"Why are you at the hospital? Are you not feeling well?" Silas asked, looking at Ivy with concern.

"No. If there’s nothing else, I’ll be going now."

"Wait." Silas reached for Ivy, but she dodged his hand.

"Are you and my uncle doing okay?" Silas asked, a thorn twisting in his heart. ’She should have been his woman, his wife.’

He knew, however, that he and Ivy had absolutely no future together.

"We’re fine," Ivy said flatly.

"But I’m not doing well. I’m divorcing Anna Nash. That woman is as cruel as ever; she actually tried to strangle her own child. The baby is still in critical condition. Ivy, I regret it. Do I still have a chance?"

"Silas Blackwood, you have your own child now. You should just focus on living your life."

"But the baby is in a dangerous condition right now. Ivy, if you’re willing to be with me again, I’ll do anything. If you want children, I’m willing to raise them, even if they’re with someone else."

"Silas Blackwood, I think you need to get your head checked."

Ivy still thought Silas Blackwood was seriously disturbed. Who in their right mind would say something like that?

Ivy turned and walked away. Silas tried to follow her. "Ivy..."

"Silas Blackwood, if you dare follow me, I’m calling the police."

At Ivy’s warning, Silas didn’t dare to follow any further.

Just as she left the hospital, Anna Nash stepped out and blocked her path.
