World’s Cutest Alchemist
Chapter 170 ALG Bomber (2)
[DAMN YOU RACCOON!] Rumi shouted as she died for the umpteenth time.
Really, she’s just so unlucky, nearly all of the loot she picks up explodes. I could’ve sworn that the percentages of that happening weren’t that high. Is she really just a bad-luck magnet or something?
- LOLOLOL
- HOW UNLUCKY CAN YOU POSSIBLY GET???
- Rumi 0 - Loot 18
- LMAOOO
- Bin and Mouse are just done LOL
[Rumi…] Luna said quietly.
[No! No! This is not my fault!!] Rumi shouted to try and defend herself.
“Wow, Rumi, you’re really weighing the team down, huh?” I teasingly commented.
[No!!! It’s the stupid Little Bomber’s fault! She’s made everything explosive!!]
Stupid!? Me!? I’ve done nothing wrong! Why am I catching strays?!
Hehe, but, hearing Rumi crash out is hilarious.
“This is really a skill issue if you think about it,” I said, “Neither Mouse nor I have exploded from picking up loot.”
[There’s absolutely no way you just said that!!!]
After ragebaiting Rumi a little more, we started the next match.
[Okay! Okay! I’m done! I’m never looting anything again! Bin, Mouse, you’ll just have to give me everything!] Rumi said.
“Rumi, you just have to not explode when picking up loot, how hard is that?” I said.
[BIN!]
“Hehe!” I giggled.
[Alright, stick behind one of us. We’ll funnel you loot.] Luna said.
[Thank you!] Rumi sounded genuinely grateful, [Bin! I’m sticking to you like glue! Get me the best weapons and armor!]
Though, I wasn’t too sure how good of an idea that was, I didn’t reject it. I mean, sticking to someone who primarily loots materials and plants can’t be good if you’re looking for equipment. But! The counterpoint is, it’d be funny since she doesn’t seem to realize that.
“Stay right behind me, Rumi!” I said, “We’re gonna get all the good loot!”
[Yes, captain!]
Since we had spawned in the Fun Zone a lot already, we generally knew the loot distribution. Luna headed over to a building called ‘Raccoon’s House of Mirrors’ while Rumi and I headed to the greenhouse.
I picked up any and every material I saw.
[Um, Bin,] Rumi said.
“Hold on! Rumi, can you hold these? My backpack’s getting full.” I said, dropping a bunch of stuff on the ground.
[Oh! Sure.] She picked up everything I dropped and I continued to look.
[Wait, Bin.] Rumi started.
“These too!” I dropped some more stuff from my inventory.
[Yeah, I got it.] Rumi said, [Wait, my backpack’s full. Why did you even pick up some of this stuff? Leather? What use is leather to an alchemist?]
“Ah, yeah, you can just drop anything that isn’t a plant.” I said.
[…] Rumi stayed silent for a moment as her character stopped moving, she was probably realizing it now, [Bin…] She said.
“Yeah?” I replied, acting clueless.
[…There’s nothing in my inventory that’s plant-related or could be used in a potion…]
“Ah, then you can just drop everything!”
[BIN!!] She shouted.
- LOL
- Omg, I was wondering why she was picking up all the useless junk she usually skips.
- LMAOOOOO
- Bin 20 bajillion - Rumi 0
After that small hiccup, Rumi quickly started to follow Luna instead. It seemed like she realized that I was never going to be looking in places with actual good weapons or armor.
While they were looting, I decided to try out this new alchemy system. It’s kind of funny, despite having played 20 or so matches already, I haven’t actually had the chance to use the new system.
Rumi’s just been dying so quickly!
I entered a closed room in the greenhouse and locked the door behind me. This was a storage room where they kept the seeds, dirt, and gravel. Metal shelves were scattered around the room, some had fallen over and some had dried materials on them. On the wall, there was a design of a raccoon wearing a gardener’s outfit.

I found myself a nice and clear spot before activating a new skill I had picked up.
[Ghost Cauldron]
This skill was added into the game in the latest update and allowed an alchemist to brew potions anywhere. As the name suggested, it summoned a translucent ‘ghost’ cauldron which was actually usable.
Alright! Let’s see what I can make…
…
The new alchemy system was all I could ever ask for. It reminded me of a lesser version of the alchemy lab. Any material I put in, had to work in conjunction with the others. So, if I threw in a random combination of materials, there was a high likelihood of it ending up as bitter water.
It was still gamified too, so, it didn’t even feel like you were actually working. And, if you didn’t want the complexity, you could always switch to casual mode.
I ended up making over a dozen explosive potions. Unfortunately, none of them were the famed ‘Dynokali’ potions, those, you could only find pre-made.
After making the explosive potions, I moved onto the less important ones. Like buff and health potions. While I was doing so, Rumi and Luna were carefully exploring the area.
[Oh my god, look!] Rumi said, it sounded like she was on the brink of bursting out laughing, [Dead squad and explosion marks! Hahaha! These losers got bombed!]
From those words alone, I got the gist of what was happening. Sounds like they ran into a squad that got obliterated, similarly to how Rumi has these past 20 games.
- LOLOLOL
- Hey, Rumi! Can you relate?
- LMAO Rumi saw someone else suffer her (future) fate and is making fun of them.
- That’ll be you in 5 minutes!
[I am not going to die like that!] Rumi exclaimed, [I already know the strat! Never loot anything and let Mouse hand it all to me! Never again!!]
[Bin,] Luna said, [ETA on potions?] She asked.
“Sir! Health potions are made, sir!” I answered.
[Pfft! Why’re you responding like that?] Rumi laughed.
“I got that vibe, ya know?”
[Trueee, this is how I’d imagine it’d be like to be in a party for a gate or something.] Rumi said.
“What, is Mouse the party leader and we’re just her grunts?”
[Exactly! You get it!]
“Sounds good!” I said.
[Wait,] Luna said, [I hear someone.]
The call immediately quieted down after she said that. I assume the two of them had locked in.
As for me? I don’t have to worry about a thing! Aint no one coming into my building! Hehe!
[Squad of three.] Rumi said, [What’s the plan, captain?]
[Bin, how fast can you get here if you were to stop making potions?] Luna asked.
“Um…” I thought about it for a moment, “I don’t know maybe two minutes or something? Depends if I just full on sprint towards you.”
[Alright, just stay making potions. Rumi and I will handle this.] Luna said.
“Wow, so confident and certain~” I said.
- I feel safer already!
- Yes, captain!
- Captain Mouse!
- Party Leader Mouse!
- Grunt Rumi, Sergeant Bin, Captain Mouse!
[WHAT!? Why am I the lowest rank!?] Rumi complained.
“Grunt Rumi! Are you complaining to your superiors!?” I shouted threateningly(?).
[N-No, sergeant!]
[Shh,] Luna said, [They’re approaching. Rumi, get ready to strike.]
[Yes, captain!] Rumi said energetically.
Pfft. I internally chuckled.
While they had their battle, I continued calmly making potions.
[ATTACK!!!] Rumi screeched a war cry.
I heard the sounds of battle in the distance.
[Come on! Get them!] Rumi shouted, [Mage is one! Mage is one!]
[She’s not one, I just hit her with a thunderbolt.] Luna replied.
[RumiVT has gone down!] That message appeared at the top of my screen.
[NOO! I’M DEAD! THEY’RE ALL ONE!] Rumi shouted.
- ???
- Rumi??
- ??? The grunt is trolling.
- wtf was that???
A few moments later, three messages appeared at the top of my screen.
[ElectricTypeMouse has killed xx!]
[ElectricTypeMouse has killed xx!]
[ElectricTypeMouse has killed xx!]
[Oh my god, Captain Mouse!!! You’re the greatest!!!] Rumi shouted in admiration.
- Mouse!!
- 1v3 ez!
- LET’S GO!!!!
- OMGGGG
- HOLYYY
- MOUSE, MY CAPTAIN!!
- Must be hard carrying Rumi, the grunt!
[I’m not a grunt!] Rumi exclaimed, [Res me! Res me!]
[…Rumi, you do know that all of them were full HP, right?] Luna said after a moment.
[…]
An awkward silence invaded the call.
“Pfft! Bahahaha!” I burst out laughing, “Rumi! You’re so bad! You said they were all one hit!”
- LOLOLOL
- BRO, RUMI DIDN’T HIT A SINGLE SKILL
- Call her out, Bin!
- LMAOOO
[You weren’t even there!] Rumi shouted.
“Hey, hey, at least you did your job as the meat shield—I mean tank.”
[MEAT SHIELD!?!]
[It’s alright,] Luna said, [She absorbed a lot of damage.]
[Exactly-Wait! Captain, you’re not also saying that I’m just a meat shield, right!?]
Luna didn’t reply.
[Captain!?] Rumi said, her voice sounding a little desperate.
[Bin, we’re gonna be heading your way. Healing potions ready?] Luna asked.
“Yep! Potions are complete!” I said.
[Captain!!!]
…
The game continued smoothly. Luna, Rumi, and I explored the new area, commenting on whatever we thought was cool.
We had a run-in with another squad, which, well, let’s just say they ended up going boom! Hehe.
Eventually, only a handful of squads remained. It was really looking like we were finally going to win a match!
“Oh!” I let out, “Look!” I pinged a building.
[Huh? What is…] Rumi started, [Oh! That’s the security building! Let’s loot it!]
As she said, it was the security building—the same one we saw in the intro cinematic.
[Yeah, maybe we can see the other squads on the cams?] Luna said.
“Hehe, well, we’ll find out! Follow me!”
[Yes, sergeant!] Rumi shouted, following directly behind me.
[Haah…] Luna quietly sighed.
- LOLOLOL
- Captain’s taking care of 2 children LMAO
- That exhausted sigh, I feel that, Mouse.
- Sergeant and the grunt are a lot to handle.
We entered the security building and it looked exactly as it did in the cinematic!
[The cams should be up the stairs then?] Rumi said.
“I think so! Look at the fallen statues and paintings! It should be this way!” I said, starting to run.
[Wait,] Luna said, stopping me and Rumi in our tracks, [Let’s walk slowly. The building might be trapped.]
[Yes, captain!]
“Okay! Rumi, stay at the very back! With your bad luck, we’ll end up dying before reaching the cams!”
[My luck’s not that bad!] Rumi shouted.
[Good point, Rumi, stay behind me. I’ll lead.] Luna said.
“Yes, captain!”
[This is bullying!]
We followed Luna up the stairs, walking down the same path the Little Bomber did in the intro cinematic. This was my first time actually seeing this stuff in game, so, it was really cool to see.
Eventually, we found ourselves in front of the door of the main security room.
“What’s the plan, cap?” I asked.
[Hm…What’re the chances that the door is trapped?] Luna asked.
[I doubt it. Surprisingly, I don’t think this place has been looted. We passed by some good-looking equipment on the way here.] Rumi replied.
[Yeah…I did notice that, I’d think this would be a prime looting spot. Why’s it so untouched?] Luna said.
“Well, we did see a lot of bodies on the way here,” I commented, “Probably couldn’t get here without exploding.”
[Good point.] Rumi said.
[Alright, whatever, I’m opening the door.] Luna said.
A few seconds later, she did exactly that. And surprisingly, we didn’t explode! I was half-expecting that to happen. Truly, a shame, it would’ve been hilarious.
[Look! Cameras!] Rumi said, stepping into the room.
On the monitors, we could see three squads walking throughout the park.
All of us approached the security desk.
“They look like ants from here.” I commented.
[…Not really?] Luna said.
[What kind of ants are that big?] Rumi said.
“Yeah, I kind of just wanted to say that, hehe.” I giggled.
- Classic
- Sounds like Bin lmao
- This room is so cool!
- Wait, Rumi, what was that thing on top of the filing cabinet?
[Filing cabinet?] Rumi said, she stepped away from the desk before continuing, [Wait! Look! There’s a briefcase!]
She ran towards the briefcase and immediately opened it.
“Well, what’s in it?” I asked.
[OH MY GOD!] She shouted, [LOOK! LOOK! I’M PUTTING IT ON THE GROUND!]
It was a bouncy potion. The game classified it as a legendary item and looked exactly like the ones I make.
[Oh, can we use it?] Luna asked.
[I think so?] Rumi said, [But, how about we find a bouncy ball first, I remember finding one a few games ago. I want to see if it replicates reality! Oh, yeah, have you two seen it? The whole internet was shouting ‘Damn you Raccoon’!] Rumi laughed.
“Yeah, it was hilarious.” I chuckled.
[I’m a little worried for Raccoon, but, it was funny.] Luna said.
[I’m actually really glad that I didn’t get one. I just know my room would’ve been destroyed if I had.] Rumi said, [Wait, did you two get one?] She asked.
“I did!” I cheerfully said, “I actually got two! Lucky me, right? But, I haven’t used it yet, Mouse and I have been too busy to have the time to use it.”
[Oh, lucky!] Rumi said, [Is it wrong of me to say, I still want to use it on a bouncy ball? I mean, I just want to see what happens to it in person.]
“Not at all! I totally get that.”
[Not to ruin the conversation, but, there’s people approaching our building.] Luna said.
[Ah! Oops! Let’s talk more about it later, Bin!]
“For sure.”
We approached the security desk again and looked at the squad approaching the building on the monitors.
[Say, didn’t the Little Bomber press a button and speak to everyone? Think we can do that too?] Rumi asked.
“Let’s try it!” I encouraged her.
[…] Luna’s character turned to me for some reason. Oddly, I got the feeling she thought I was being suspicious or something.
[Okay, okay, what should I say? I see the prompt.] Rumi said.
“Just say whatever’s funny!”
[Got it.] Rumi pressed the button.
But, just before she could speak…
BOOM!
The entire room exploded and a familiar death screen appeared.
It was completely silent in the call. Not a single word was spoken for over a dozen seconds.
I glanced at the chat and they were spamming laughing emotes, emojis, and text.
Finally, after what felt like ages, I heard Rumi inhale a deep breath,
[DAMN YOU RACCOON!]
