World’s Cutest Alchemist

Chapter 169 ALG Bomber

  • Next Chapter

I sat in silence, glancing at the chat while waiting for Luna and Rumi to react.

- OMG

- ??

- The skin looks so GOOD!!!!

- Pfft, Raccoon is just skipping casually through the theme park like she owns it.

- Well…She kinda does?

- Dude, I can’t be the only one creeped out by this, right? I’m genuinely scared to go to the theme park now.

- Nah, I feel you. I want nothing to do with it either.

- Why’s it giving such a horror vibe!? Wtfff?

- Streamer, I’m scared! Hold me!!

- Did she just blow up the entire theme park with a press of the button?

- Raccoon’s Riptide Rocket? RRR? Can we ride it?

- Is this spoilers for the Little Bomber themed area in Rapturous World?

- I hope so!

Finally, a few moments after the cinematic ended, Rumi remembered she was a streamer and started to speak,

[Oh my goodness!! Did you all see that!?] She exclaimed, [It was simultaneously cool and creepy!]

[Wow…] Luna let out, [Do you think that was the Little Bomber’s real voice? Did ALG just distort it? What do you think, Bin?]

…Okay, yeah, let’s just ask me! Way to make it obvious, Luna! Hehe, it’s fine, I guess she just can’t hold her curiosity back.

And well, to answer her question: Yes! That was me! I had to go into a professional recording studio to record that audio! It was a really interesting experience, mostly because it was way more high tech then I thought it’d be.

But, I obviously couldn’t just be like “Yeah! That was me!”.

So, I had to answer her in a way that only she could tell.

“I have no idea!” I said, “But, whoever voice acted it did an amazing job! I really want to hear what it sounds like undistorted, they probably sound super cool!”

[Pfft!-] Luna barely held back from bursting out laughing, [Yeah, maybe.]

[True!!!] Rumi chimed in, [They did sound really good! Though it was distorted, it really gave off that creepy but childish vibe, ya know?]

“Right, right?” I said.

Hehe, what can I say? I might just be the greatest voice actor of our generation!

[Like Bin said, I wonder if someone can undistort their voice.] Rumi said.

- Someone already did!

- It’s on YouTube!

- I wonder why they distorted it though, it sounded fine undistorted too.

[Wait, what? They did?] Luna said, she sounded slightly concerned. I could tell she had some questions she wanted to ask, but couldn’t since we were on stream right now.

[Oh! They did!? Mods! Link it!] Rumi said.

A few moments later, Rumi’s screen had switched from the lobby to a YouTube video.

Now, this was something I expected to happen! I’m sure it would’ve happened even if it wasn’t the Little Bomber who spoke in the cinematic, someone would’ve undistorted the audio. Because, that’s just what people do.

And, since I, and ALG had already prepared for that. I wasn’t worried whatsoever, but seeing Luna spam message me on discord was both endearing and funny.

[ElectricTypeMouse: Is this okay???]

[ElectricTypeMouse: Hello? Bin? Will this expose you?]

[ElectricTypeMouse: Bin???]

[ElectricTypeMouse: .]

When Rumi played the video, a cutesy, slightly mischievous voice said the same exact lines that appeared in the cinematic, but undistorted.

It didn’t sound like me.

ALG had some audio guy transform my voice to be similar, but, not the same. I don’t know exactly how they did it, but, I do know that if people looked deeper into it for some reason, they would find the true voice—me.

But! I wasn’t expecting that to happen for at least a couple months. Most people will undistort it, realize that it sounds like a normal girl and leave it at that. Only a specific type of person would dig deeper into it.

A copied version appears here without the author's approval; the page where the story is published is the place that supports their work.

[ElectricTypeMouse: …You scared me.]

[ElectricTypeMouse: Are you trying to get flicked? I just know you’re smiling, aren’t you.]

[BinLover: LOLOLOLOL]

“Wow, they sound even better undistorted.” I commented, “Wonder why ALG had her voice like that in the cinematic.”

[Me too,] Rumi said, [But, I’m sure there’s a reason. Maybe a lore reason or something?]

- She sounds oddly familiar, but, I don’t know why??

- I’m not the only one who hears it, right?

- She sounded so good undistorted!

- Should’ve kept it undistorted tbh.

- I feel like I recognize the speaker, but, I know I’ve never heard that voice before?

Hm…These guys are a little more observant than I thought. Like how can they tell!? Even Luna wouldn’t be able to recognize my voice when it’s like that!

[ElectricTypeMouse: Are you sure it’s okay though? It still resembled you.]

“What???” I accidentally let out.

[Huh? Bin? You okay?] Rumi said.

- Bin?

- Everything good?

- Did she recognize the voice too?

“Ah,” I realized my mistake and cleared my throat, “Ahem, yeah, I just read something that baffled me. It’ll be a spoiler if I say it though, so, let’s just play.”

[Sounds good!] Rumi said.

I quickly sent a message to Luna.

[BinLover: ???]

[BinLover: HOW?]

[BinLover: Sounds nothing like me!!!]

[ElectricTypeMouse: The voice is different, but, the tone and inflections are the same. I think if anyone edits that voice a bit, they’ll get to hear yours and it’d be even more obvious.]

I stared at the screen blankly for a moment.

The tone and inflection!?!? Seriously!?

Whatever! If they find out, I don’t care anymore! I thought I was being smart, but, apparently everyone else is a genius or something.

“Alright! Invite me!” I said.

I received an invite from Rumi a few moments later.

Luna joined the lobby shortly after I did.

[So! Where should we spawn?] Rumi asked as if the answer wasn’t obvious.

[The theme park.] Luna replied.

- Theme park!!

- Obviously the new area!

- We wanna see the roller coasters!

- Little Bomber’s Fun Zone!!

“Let’s spawn at cargo!” I said.

For reference, cargo was on the opposite side of the map from the theme park. It was just a few large cargo ships at some docks.

- ????

- CARGO???

- Bin???

- The hell do you mean ‘cargo’???

- She’s trolling, surely.

- Bin hates fun, confirmed.

- Cargo??? Are you in your right mind?

[Um…What? Bin?] Rumi said.

“What?” I responded with a clueless tone.

[Cargo? Seriously?] Luna commented.

“What’s wrong with cargo!?” I exclaimed as if I was being wronged, “You asked where we should spawn, and I’m just spicing things up a bit!”

[No, no, no,] Rumi quickly said, [There is absolutely NO WAY you want to go to cargo! That place hasn’t even changed and you hated that area last season!]

“I’ve changed my mind since then.”

[I am NOT spawning cargo!] Rumi adamantly said.

“Then why did you ask!?” I let out.

- ??

- That is kind of messed up, Rumi.

- If you ask a question with a decision already made, then what’s the point of asking?

[You don’t hate cargo anymore?] Luna asked.

“Nope! It’s one of the best spots to loot!” I said.

[I don’t believe you!!] Rumi said, [Fine! Let’s just have chat decide. Chat! Tell me, where should we go?]

“Psst, chat, choose cargo.”

[Don’t influence them!]

- LOL

- Okay, screw it, let’s go cargo.

- Yeah, who cares about Little Bomber’s Fun Zone anyways.

- She’s convinced me. Rumi! Send us to cargo!

[No!! There’s no way everyone’s picking cargo now!]

“Rumi! You’ve heard the wishes of the masses, now, send us to cargo!”

While we were chatting, I equipped the Little Bomber skin. ALG had also already given me the unique title, but, I wasn’t putting that on just yet. That was staying in the inventory for now, for a more opportune time to put it on.

And, to my surprise, Luna had also bought and equipped the Little Bomber skin.

“Did you buy the bundle, Mouse?” I asked.

[Yeah,] Luna replied, [I like the skin and emote it came with.]

[Wait! You two already have it!?] Rumi said, [Hold on! I need to buy the bundle too!]

Hehehe, yes! Yes! Everyone should buy the bundle! All of these purchases are going into my wallet! Mwahahaha!

A little later, all three of us had the Little Bomber skins equipped.

“Alright! Send us to cargo, Rumi!”

[What? No, I’m not actually sending us to cargo, right?] Rumi said.

- You heard her! Let’s go to cargo!

- Cargo time!

- Woohoo! I love cargo!

[…Please don’t do this to me.] Rumi said, [Everyone’s going to have a fun time in the new area, and we’re really gonna spawn in cargo?]

“Yep!”

- Sounds about right?

- Mhm

- You understand!

[Can you give me host, Rumi?] Luna asked.

[…Sure.] Rumi said, she sounded defeated.

When Luna got host, she immediately sent us into a game. But, it wasn’t at cargo, she had sent us to the new area: Little Bomber’s Fun Zone.

“Gah! You’ve betrayed the masses, Mouse!” I exclaimed.

- ???

- This isn’t cargo!

- Tyranny!

- Dictator!!

[Oh my god, thank you so much, Mouse.] Rumi said, she sounded genuinely grateful.

“I propose a coup! Who’s with me!?” I exclaimed.

- Revolution!

[I want to go to the new area, is that okay, Bin?] Luna asked.

“Oh, of course! I didn’t want to go to cargo anyways.”

- ???

- LEADER??

- What about the revolution!???

- OUR LEADER ABANDONED US??

- She folded under ZERO pressure!

[WHAT!?] Rumi shouted, [WHY DIDN’T YOU PUT UP A FIGHT WITH MOUSE?!]

“Eh? Why would I?”

[Cause you wanted to go cargo!]

“Don’t know what you’re talking about~? Plus, Mouse asked nicely~”

[I also asked nicely!] Rumi said, sounding wronged.

Before I could reply, we spawned in.

“Oh! We’re in! Come on, let’s loot!” I said.

[Wow, this place is way more colorful than I thought. I mean, I knew it’d be vibrant, but, this exceeds expectations.] Rumi commented.

[Agreed,] Luna said, [It looks really nice.]

Though I wasn’t the one who built the map, I still felt a little proud hearing them say that. I do know how hard the developers worked to get it right.

After everyone admired the map for a bit, we finally started to move. But, we didn’t split up. For some reason, both Luna and Rumi were worried about randomly dying. I don’t know why though. This place is completely safe!

The first place we visited was a greenhouse. At least, what used to be one. The glass walls were cracked and mold and vines had grown over it. But! This was exactly what I needed. A greenhouse surely has materials for a potion, right!?

“Please! Please! Please! I want to make explosives!” I said.

[What system are you using?] Rumi asked, [Detailed or casual?]

“Detailed,” I replied, “There’s no way I’m ever using the casual system again.”

Both modes were viable, but, put simply, casual mode made potion making easier but a little less effective. And detailed was more complex and had full effectiveness.

[As expected of an alchemist.] Rumi said, [For me though, I think I’ll just stick with casual mode if I ever play a production class.]

[Same.] Luna said.

“Boring!” I chuckled. We entered the greenhouse and I found several different materials planted in the soil. There were also materials in bags and the fridge, so, this place was like a haven for me.

It didn’t take long for us to loot the greenhouse, I was thoroughly satisfied with the loot, but, the same couldn’t be said for Luna and Rumi. The equipment wasn’t very good; Everything they found was pretty low quality—or, in other words, trash.

So, we made our way towards a colorful building. On the outside, there was a large sign with a raccoon on it. It looked to be one of the more prominent and important looting areas.

“Raccoon’s Starry House” I said, reading the sign.

[What’s this? A restaurant?] Rumi commented.

[Looks like it.] Luna said, [What do you thinks in here?]

“Probably food, no? I can’t imagine there’d be good loot-” As I was replying, Rumi suddenly cut in.

[Legendary weapon!] She shouted, [Oh my god! Legendary shield!]

Since Rumi was a tank class, this was perfect for her. Without second thought, she immediately rushed forward to loot it.

[Wait, Rumi.] As Luna went to speak, Rumi picked up the shield and…

BOOM!

A familiar death screen appeared.

All of us had died instantly.

A silence settled in the call.

I glanced at chat.

- LOL

- LMAOO

- HAHAHAHA

- YES!!! THIS IS WHAT I LIVE FOR!

- LMAOOO, RUMI KILLED EVERYONE

- XDXD

“Hey, Rumi.” I said after several moments of silence, “I think this one was your fault.”

[…Yeah, I think so too.] Luna agreed.

I heard Rumi take a deep breath.

[This isn’t my fault…] She said quietly. She was completely in denial.

“If it’s not your fault, then whose fault is it?” I asked.

[It’s…It’s…It’s the Little Bomber’s fault!] She shouted.

…How am I getting blamed for this!?
