World Evolution: Starting With The Wind Monarch
Chapter 93: Lizardman King (Part 1)
[You have entered the hidden Rank Two Dungeon: Castle of Lizardmen]
[Because of the special entry, you are directly sent to the last floor of the dungeon.]
[Defeat the Lizardman King to obtain a special reward.]
Seeing the notifications, Evan honestly did not feel much surprise. From the way the level of difficulty had increased from the first grass field to the third, he had actually already expected to face a Rank Two magical beast in the fourth one.
The only thing that made him a bit uneasy was that the current situation was actually more dangerous than facing a Rank Two magical beast in a grass field.
At that place, if things turned dangerous, he always had the option to simply run away.
But now that he was inside the dungeon, unless he defeated the magical beast, he had no way to retreat.
’I never thought that door would lead me straight into a dungeon...’ He thought inwardly.
’If I had known I would encounter a situation like this, I would have brought some of those exit stones that Grandma spoke of when I left home.’
Shaking his head, Evan stopped thinking about useless things that were not helpful in his current situation, and his face turned serious.
"At least, I only need to face the final boss, not clear the entire dungeon, or who knows how much time it would have taken me."
He looked at his surroundings and saw that he was standing in a hallway.
At the end of the hallway, he could see a giant golden door, similar to the giant door he had seen when he had entered the final floor of the Skeleton Graveyard Dungeon.
Evan walked towards the door, and as he got closer to it, he saw images of crowns and thrones engraved on the door.
"Lizardman King," Evan muttered the name of the monster he would be facing and took a deep breath.
Before entering, he took out a high-grade Mana Potion and consumed it.
A Mana Potion didn’t immediately recover the consumer’s Mana but slowly recovered it.
Evan took one in advance so that once the fight started, his Mana would recover quickly during that time.
Once everything was ready, he pushed open the door and entered.
As soon as he entered, the door closed behind him with a loud bang, sealing his exit.
Evan didn’t bother with the closed door behind him and looked at his surroundings.
After passing through the door, he found himself in a magnificent hall. The golden walls of the hall were engraved with different images, with the floor made from polished tiles that gave the place a luxurious appearance.
The hall was brightly lit by the crystal chandelier hanging above.
"OH?"
Just as he was looking at his surroundings, a surprised voice reached Evan’s ears.
Evan quickly looked in the direction of the sound and saw a staircase leading to a high platform.
On top of the platform, a golden throne was situated, and on the throne, a lizard-like man was sitting, looking at him with a cold look.
There was a golden crown on the head of the Lizardman King, with multiple gems adorned on it.
"How did a weakling like you enter my throne room?" The Lizardman King asked with a look of confusion on his face.
Evan wasn’t surprised when he heard the Lizardman King could speak, as after reaching Rank Two, some magical beasts gained the ability to speak.
He tried to sense the Lizardman King’s aura to gauge his level, but couldn’t because he was controlling his aura perfectly.
Thinking of the Lizardman King’s earlier question, Evan looked around and spoke in a flat voice,
"There was a sign hanging outside this throne room, saying you can see a dragon if you go in. Don’t tell me you are the one who hung that sign outside and are calling yourself a dragon."
The Lizardman King’s eyes narrowed, and a powerful pressure slowly engulfed the entire room.
"Audacious lowlife, do you know who you are talking to?" The Lizardman King asked as his aura pressed down on Evan.
Evan felt his surroundings becoming heavier, and even the flow of Mana in his body stagnated for a moment.
But instead of feeling fear, Evan couldn’t help but sigh in relief because although the Lizardman King was strong, his aura wasn’t something that made him feel despair.
’Around Level 65... There is hope of defeating him...’ He thought before his lips curled upward and he released his own aura.
BOOOOOOM!
The surrounding air around Evan was pushed back as his aura clashed with the Lizardman King’s aura.
Currently, he was getting a 10% boost from his title, Slayer, because his enemy exceeded his level by more than 15 levels.
But that wasn’t all.
Because he was currently inside a dungeon, his second title, Conqueror, gave him another 10% boost.
On top of that, Evan covered himself in Wind Aura, and his power reached its peak, making him able to clash with the Lizardman King’s aura without falling behind.
The Lizardman King was stunned when he saw this, and his eyes opened wide, finally making him stand up from his throne.
As the Lizardman King stood up, Evan finally saw his full appearance.
The Lizardman King had green-colored skin, was two meters tall with a muscular build, and his face resembled an alligator instead of a lizard. There was a one-meter-long tail coming out from his back, and his yellow reptilian eyes were fixed on him.
Seeing the Lizardman King standing up, a serious look appeared in Evan’s eyes.
Although the pressure of the Lizardman King wasn’t on the level that made him feel despair, it didn’t mean he was weak.
"At least you are not all talk and have a decent level of power," The Lizardman King spoke after a moment. "But if you think this is enough to stand against me, you are nothing more than a fool."
As he spoke, the Lizardman King came down from the throne platform.
Once he was down, his eyes met with Evan’s, and without saying anything—
BOOM! ℯ
BOOM!
The floor beneath their feet shattered, and they shot towards each other.
Evan came before the Lizardman King with lightning speed and punched at him with all his power.
The Lizardman King saw all this, and his muscles bulged out as he also threw a punch to meet Evan’s punch.
BOOOOOOOOOOOOM!
A high end explosion resounded inside the hall as a ring-shaped shockwave erupted in all directions from the point of impact.
The polished floor was ripped open layer by layer, shattering into fragments as the golden walls of the room shook.
Woosh!
At the same time, a figure was sent flying backwards as if it had been hit by a speeding bull.
Bang!
Evan crashed against the distant wall and coughed out a mouthful of blood, feeling the blood in his body churn.
The Lizardman King didn’t attack again and coldly looked at Evan, who was coughing out blood on the ground.
’Maybe it wasn’t such a good idea to test my raw strength against a Rank Two Magical Beast...’ Evan thought as he stood up.
Although his body was aching slightly, he was not injured in any way.
He looked at his trembling hand before shifting his attention back to the Lizardman King, who was looking at him with a condescending look, as if asking if he now understood the difference between them.
Evan did not say anything at the Lizardman King’s look and wiped the blood from the corner of his mouth, a grin appearing on his face.
’He’s stronger than me, but I wonder if he’s faster than me,’ He thought inwardly before Wings of Wind appeared on his back.
He flapped them and, using his Agility to its limit, turned into a green blur.
The Lizardman King’s expression changed slightly, and as soon as Evan reached him, the monster immediately tried to attack him.
However, using his superior Agility, Evan dodged Lizard King’s attack and clenched his fist.
"I am returning the favor..." He said with a grin, and before the Lizardman King could react—
Bang!
His punch landed on the monster’s solar plexus.
All the air was forced out of the Lizardman King’s lungs, and his body bent forward before he was sent flying away like a broken kite.
BOOOOOOM!
The Lizardman King crashed against the wall of the hall, destroying a section of it, and coughed out dark green blood.
But unlike him, Evan didn’t wait for him to stand up.
He created a Wind Spear by using 30% of his total Mana and shot it towards the Lizardman King, who was still trying to stand up.
When the Lizardman King saw the Wind Spear coming towards him, he punched the spear to destroy it.
But Evan sneered and changed the direction of the Wind Spear just before it clashed with the fist of the Lizardman King.
The Lizardman King, who was still half-kneeling, wasn’t able to react in time and was caught off guard.
The Wind Spear evaded his fist and pierced through his left hand.
"Arg!" A painful groan escaped the monster’s mouth as blood spurted out from his left arm.
But Evan didn’t stop there.
"Scatter!" He shouted, and the Wind Spear that had pierced through the left hand of the Lizardman King turned into Wind Blades and destroyed the hard muscles of his left hand.
"Arghhhh!"
This time, a painful scream echoed across the hall as blood continued to spurt from the monster’s left arm.
