World Evolution: Starting With The Wind Monarch
Chapter 163: Wind Valley (Part 1)
Evan walked out of the sparring arena and closed the door behind him.
As soon as the door closed, he looked around and, seeing that no one was there, his serious expression instantly cracked and he scratched the back of his head.
"All the mighty nonsense I spouted in there should be enough to motivate these guys, right?" He muttered in a low voice, wondering if he should have said a few more things.
But remembering the ugly expressions on some of the students’ faces, he shook his head and shrugged.
’Forget it. I think those people would’ve jumped into the ring to beat me up if I’d said anything else.’
The only thing Evan hoped now was that Queen Eleanor would be satisfied with his trash talk.
"Alice and the others were there, too. Although they know I said all those things because Queen Eleanor asked me to, I should probably avoid them for a few hours so they can calm down a bit. Otherwise, they might gang up on me and beat me up."
Just as Evan was planning to run away, he sensed someone approaching him, and the corner of his mouth twitched slightly.
However, he immediately recomposed himself and turned to look to the side with a calm expression.
Alice and the others walked toward Evan and stopped a short distance away from him.
Seeing them stop some distance away, Evan wondered if they were angry because of what he had said earlier.
He looked at them without saying anything and when they remained silent as well, his eyes twitched slightly.
’Maybe I should apologize...’ He thought and was about to speak when Alice suddenly spoke.
"Thanks for what you did earlier."
"Huh?" Evan was taken aback and looked at them with a baffled expression.
"What’s with that look? Are you thinking you actually said too much and we’d be angry with you?" Erza asked with a chuckle when she saw his bewildered expression.
"I did think I’d said too much and that you guys would be angry."
Liam shook his head and spoke seriously.
"I don’t think you said anything unnecessary. Everything you said was correct. Those students really were wasting their time and squandering the academy’s resources."
Evan sighed in relief when he heard this and finally relaxed.
"It’s good that you guys aren’t angry. Actually, I was just spouting whatever came to mind at the time."
Alice smiled slightly and asked teasingly, "You were planning to run away just now, weren’t you?"
Evan’s face stiffened slightly, and he coughed awkwardly.
"I actually forgot to lock the door of my room. I was just going to check it."
Erza rolled her eyes and spoke calmly.
"You don’t have to worry about us. We’re not angry that you called those students trash. We’re actually glad you did. Now, even if not all of them change, at least some of them will start training seriously."
Evan nodded at Erza’s words, as even he knew it was impossible for all those students to change simply because they had heard his speech.
Suddenly, Liam stepped closer to him and asked, "By the way, when you said you were envious because they had such a good training environment, you weren’t joking, were you?"
Evan spread his hands upon hearing Liam’s question.
"Who wouldn’t be envious after seeing so many top-tier training facilities? As you know, I’ll be leaving in two days, and since my planet has only recently started evolving, I’m sure the sub-academy there won’t have facilities like these..." He shook his head.
"That’s also one of the reasons I genuinely felt speechless when I saw so many of them wasting their time watching a pointless sparring match instead of making use of those facilities."
Kevin looked at Evan for a few seconds before shaking his head.
"I don’t know what kind of training facilities you’ll have at your sub-academy, but I don’t think it’ll affect you much..." He paused before letting out a sigh.
"Not to mention that you’re already ridiculously strong, but you also have a recommendation letter. With that, you’ll be able to join the main academy shortly after enrolling in the sub-academy."
Evan merely smiled at Kevin’s words and didn’t respond, as he still wasn’t sure whether he would use the recommendation letter himself or exchange it for something else.
"You want to check out the area where the wind element is most active, right?" Alice suddenly asked.
"Yes." Evan nodded. "Since I have nothing else to do, I might as well train there for the remaining two days."
Alice nodded and asked, "Do you want to go there right now or after getting some rest?"
"Let’s go now." Evan shook his head. "I didn’t expend much energy during the fight earlier."
"All right." Alice didn’t say anything else and led him out of the academy building.

"What kind of monster is this guy?"
Chancellor Flora stared at the green crystal in front of her, astonished by how Evan had defeated Eric without even lifting a finger.
She was sitting in her office, and the green crystal was projecting a recording of the fight between Evan and Eric that had just taken place.
"Why are you so surprised? Didn’t I tell you the match would be over in less than two minutes?"
Flora heard Queen Eleanor’s voice coming from her Communication Crystal.
"You were the one who told him to say those things after the match, weren’t you?" Flora asked, rubbing her temples, as she knew many students were dissatisfied with what Evan had said.
"Don’t slander me! I’m completely innocent. I only told him to say something that would hurt the egos of students who weren’t training. I never expected him to stand in front of hundreds of students and say all those things without the slightest hesitation," Queen Eleanor replied with a laugh.
She had thoroughly enjoyed seeing the expressions on the students’ faces when Evan called them trash.
"I know what he said was true, but now I’ve got more work to do because of him," Flora said with a sigh as she thought about all the extra work she would have to handle.
"From what I heard from Alice, he’s greedy for artifacts. And since he completed his task so well, I’ll have to give him a good reward," Eleanor said, her eye twitching as she remembered what Alice had told her about Evan.
"Be careful, or he might just ask you for a Legendary-Grade treasure," Flora said with a laugh.
Eleanor rolled her eyes and immediately cut off the communication after hearing Flora’s words.
"I don’t even have enough Legendary-Grade treasures for myself. How am I supposed to give one to him?"
