World Evolution: Starting With The Wind Monarch
Chapter 154: Recommendation Letter (Part 1)
The academy’s cafeteria was located near the water creek Evan had seen when he first entered the academy.
The walls of the cafeteria were made of transparent glass, allowing students sitting inside to enjoy the beautiful view of the flowing water, with Thunder Mountain visible in the distance.
Evan looked at the flowing creek and noticed numerous tiny fireflies flying above the flowers and plants growing along its banks.
’This place seems no different from the real world and doesn’t look like something inside a Mythical-Grade artifact...’ He thought to himself before sighing, wondering whether the atmosphere of the sub-academy on Planet Zarth would be the same.
Shaking his head, he stopped thinking about it and followed Liam and Kevin.
Since it was nighttime, many students were present in the cafeteria. When they saw Evan, they couldn’t help talking about him, as he had become somewhat famous throughout the academy after defeating Adam a few days ago.
Soon, they reached a private booth and entered it.
The booth was also made of glass, but no one outside could see what was happening inside. From within, however, they could clearly see the flowing creek outside.
As they entered, Evan noticed that Alice and Erza were already there.
Liam and the others greeted them before taking their seats.
"Did something good happen?" Erza asked curiously when she noticed that Evan looked quite happy.
"Nothing..." Evan shook his head. "The Epic-Grade artifact I received as a reward for clearing the dungeon was really good, so I am in a good mood."
Liam and Kevin rolled their eyes when they heard his answer as they knew the real reason behind Evan’s happiness stemmed from the fact that a Rank Two Evolver would soon come looking for trouble with him, giving him an opportunity to plunder something valuable.
Erza didn’t find anything suspicious about Evan’s reply and nodded.
"My and Alice’s reward was pretty good, too. This trip to the Animal Kingdom Dungeon was really fruitful."
Evan listened to Erza’s words as he tapped the table in front of him.
As soon as he did, a holographic screen appeared before him, displaying various dishes and drinks.
When Evan had first seen this technology, he had been quite surprised, as there was nothing like it on Planet Zarth.
He selected a few dishes for himself and placed his order.
Alice and the others did the same before settling down to wait for their food.
While they were waiting, Alice turned toward Evan and asked, "What do you plan to do next?"
There was still some time before Evan could use his Entrance Authority Token to return, so he would have to remain on Planet Elvador for the time being.
Evan thought for a moment before replying, "I am not sure, but after dinner, I plan to visit the market area to buy a few things for myself."
"You want a Communication Crystal, right?" Alice asked after hearing his answer. "I know someone who can sell you one at a cheap price. I’ll take you there after dinner."
Evan nodded before asking, "How much does an Exit Stone cost?"
Evan knew he would definitely enter many more dungeons in the future, and items like Exit Stones were extremely rare on Planet Zarth.
An Exit Stone could save his life inside a dungeon if something went wrong, so he definitely wanted to buy a few to take back with him.
"Although an Exit Stone can only be used once, and you’ll need to buy another one after that, its price isn’t cheap because of how useful it is..." Liam explained in a low voice. "A single Exit Stone will cost you around fifty Rank One Mana Cores."
"Fifty Rank One Mana Cores..." Evan sighed when he heard the price and decided not to ask anything further.
"By the way, while we were coming here, we heard some students talking about your duel against Adam," Erza suddenly said. "Apparently, Adam’s elder brother, Eric, isn’t happy that he lost to a human whose level was lower than his. I think Eric will challenge you, too."
A faint smile appeared on Evan’s face when he heard this.
"I heard about it on the way here, too. If he wants to challenge me, he can do so anytime."
Alice and Erza recalled how Evan had killed the Rank Two Wyvern and fell silent.
Although Eric was a Rank Two Evolver and quite powerful, they felt that if he challenged Evan, he would undoubtedly lose.
Soon, the food they had ordered arrived.
Evan first tasted the Spirit Juice Liam had recommended while they were placing their orders.
As soon as he took a sip, he felt his perception improve slightly, while his entire body seemed to relax.
"Spirit Juice helps improve your perception, and if you drink it after intense training, it’ll also relieve your fatigue," Liam explained before taking a sip of his own drink.
Evan and the others had ordered the most expensive dishes to celebrate their achievement of conquering a Rank Two dungeon.
After they finished eating, everyone looked at Evan.
Since he was the one who had collected all the Mana Cores, it was only natural that he would pay for their meal.
With a bleeding heart, Evan paid thirty Rank One Mana Cores for dinner and silently vowed never to eat here again.
’This place is a den of robbers!’
In his opinion, Thirty Rank One Mana Cores for a single meal was simply too much.
To obtain that many cores, he would have to kill more than a hundred monsters, even inside the Animal Kingdom Dungeon.
Sighing inwardly, Evan paid the bill and left with Alice and the others.
"So, where’s the shop of the person who’s going to sell me a Communication Crystal at a cheap price?" Evan asked Alice as they stepped out of the booth. "Is it here in the academy or somewhere in the outside world?"
"His shop is in the academy market," Alice explained. "Most students sell or exchange the treasures they obtain during missions or dungeon exploration there. You can find all kinds of things in that market."
"Other than Communication Crystals and Exit Stones, do you want to buy anything else?" Liam suddenly asked.
Evan didn’t know much about the academy market, so he wasn’t sure what kinds of things he could buy there. Rather than blindly deciding what to purchase, he simply asked Liam.
"What else can I buy there?"
"Everything!" Kevin said proudly. "You can buy all kinds of things in the academy market, including artifacts and skill scrolls. If you’re lucky, you might even find an Epic-Grade artifact there."
"Even an Epic-Grade artifact?" Evan’s eyes widened, and a look of anticipation appeared on his face.
Following Alice, Evan headed toward the back of the academy building.
Just as they were walking, he noticed a Winged Elf approaching them with a smile on his face.
"I think you are in luck, Evan," Liam said with a grin when he saw the Winged Elf.
"What do you mean?" Evan asked in confusion.
"See that guy coming toward us?" Liam pointed at the Winged Elf and chuckled. "He is Eric. Looks like he is ready to donate something valuable to you."
