"Volcanic Eruption!"

As soon as Alice’s voice fell—

BOOOOOOOOOOOOM!

A loud explosion reverberated throughout the entire floor.

Rumble!

The ground began to tremble violently, making Liam and the others stagger.

Before they could recover, the rumbling intensified even further, and the next second—

BOOM!!!! BOOM!!! BOOM!!! BOOM!!! BOOM!!! BOOM!!! — — — —

Fountains of flames erupted from all the holes around the forest, each reaching ten meters into the sky.

Evan couldn’t help but suck in a breath of cold air as he watched everything from the sky, his eyes filled with disbelief.

From every single hole in the ground, a pillar of flame shot upward, creating a scene that looked extremely beautiful yet dangerous at the same time.

All the spiders inside those holes turned to ashes in an instant, dying without being able to do anything.

"Damn it! Is she trying to kill us?" Kevin couldn’t help but curse as he looked at a pillar of flame erupting barely a meter away from them, breaking out in a cold sweat.

Erza and Liam also had pale faces, their eyes twitching violently.

Rumble!

The ground continued to shake for a few more seconds, and many holes collapsed under the force of the explosions.

The ground was scorched black, and the strong, nauseating smell of burnt spiders spread everywhere.

Evan looked around and saw that a large area of the forest had been completely destroyed, with many trees already burning.

If he used his Wind Monarch skill to control the wind, he could even spread the fire throughout the entire forest.

"It seems the Spider Mother isn’t hiding inside these holes," Alice’s voice suddenly reached Evan’s ears.

Evan was taken aback by her words and only then realized that they hadn’t received the notification about clearing the floor.

"It must be hiding somewhere else in the forest, then," Evan said, nodding before turning toward her.

"Are you all right?" He asked when he saw her pale face. She even had to lean against him just to maintain her balance.

"I am fine. Just out of Mana," Alice replied with a nod and looking at the power of her attack, she felt incredibly satisfied.

Evan was about to carry her down from the sky when he suddenly noticed something in the distance, causing his eyes to narrow.

With the help of the Eagle’s Eye skill of his Arch Eagle Crossbow, he looked far ahead, and a faint smile appeared on his face.

"Hey, Alice, I don’t think we need to search for the Spider Mother anymore," He said in a low voice.

"Hmm?" Hearing Evan’s words, Alice came back to her senses and finally stopped admiring her handiwork.

At the same time, she realized that she was leaning against him and immediately straightened up, looking somewhat awkward.

Evan noticed her action but didn’t say anything. He was afraid that these people would once again call him a pervert for no reason simply because of his human identity if he said anything.

Pointing into the distance, he calmly told her, "I think I know where that spider is hiding."

Alice looked in the direction he was pointing, but her eyesight was far inferior to his, so she couldn’t see anything.

"What is there?" She asked curiously.

"Let’s go down first," Evan replied without explaining further before carrying her down.

As soon as they landed, Alice immediately sat down and took out a Mana Potion.

Evan felt a bit puzzled when he saw her sitting down and rubbed his chin.

’Isn’t her backside burning? This ground is literally smoking hot.’

Though confused, he didn’t voice his thoughts and attributed the phenomenon to the armor she was wearing.

"You were trying to kill us, weren’t you?" Liam asked in a trembling voice.

Alice rolled her eyes when she heard his words.

"You wouldn’t be speaking right now if I’d wanted to kill you."

Liam was left speechless by Alice’s response, and his mouth twitched.

"Still, couldn’t you have at least warned us before pulling out such a big move?"

"Have you forgotten? I did tell you it was going to be dangerous..." Alice replied with a smile.

Kevin shook his head at their conversation and sighed.

"It’s a pity the Spider Mother wasn’t hiding in those holes."

Evan chuckled slightly when he heard Kevin’s words.

"I think I know where that Spider Mother is hiding."

Liam and the others were taken aback and looked at him in surprise.

"Where?" Erza asked.

"When I was in the sky, I saw a giant pit about a hundred meters in diameter not too far from here. There were quite a lot of spiders around that pit. If I am not mistaken, the Spider Mother might be hiding inside it, protected by the other spiders."

"A giant pit?" Kevin raised an eyebrow. "Since we already have a guess about its location, let’s go and kill that production factory quickly."

Evan glanced at Alice and spoke calmly.

"Let’s go after Alice recovers her Mana. Also..." He looked at the scorched ground around them, and his eyes gleamed. "We still have to collect Mana Cores from those dead spiders."

Alice’s earlier attack had killed thousands of spiders, and there was no shortage of Rank One Spiders among them.

After collecting the cores from these spiders, Evan was certain he would become a rich young master himself.

Kevin and the others looked at one another and nodded.

"All right. Let’s collect the cores first."

Everyone except Alice began collecting the Mana Cores.

Because of the large area they had to cover, it took them nearly two hours to collect all the cores. They found more than a thousand unranked cores, which Evan simply ignored.

What interested him most were the Rank One Cores as they found around 850 of them.

Evan looked at the pile of cores inside his Storage Ring with sparkling eyes, his heart dancing with joy.

After the cores had been collected, Erza immediately said, "All right, let’s head to the Spider Mother’s den."

Alice had also recovered during that time and was already in perfect condition.

Evan led everyone toward the giant pit he had spotted from the sky earlier.

After walking for twenty minutes, they arrived before a massive pit roughly a hundred meters in diameter.

What surprised Evan and the others was that, when they looked inside, all they could see were spiders clinging to the sides of the walls, extending as far down as their eyes could see.

The pit looked as though it had no end.

"I can see about fifteen kilometers with my eyesight, but I still can’t see the bottom of this hole. Don’t tell me this isn’t the Spider Mother’s den but a gateway to hell?" Evan muttered, his face filled with shock.

Alice and the others were equally stunned and began to wonder whether this was actually the Spider Mother’s den.

"Should we search other areas of the forest first?" Erza asked after a moment.

"We can search other areas, but if this really is the spider’s den, we will just be wasting our time," Liam replied.

"Then do you have a better suggestion?" Erza asked.

Liam opened his mouth but couldn’t think of anything to say.

Looking at the endless darkness and the spiders clinging to the sides, even he didn’t want to enter the pit.

Evan stared into the bottomless pit for a minute before finally speaking.

"You guys, step back. Since we can’t go inside, why don’t we just blow it up from the outside?"

"Blow it up?" Kevin asked in confusion.

Evan didn’t say anything and took out his crossbow.

When Kevin and the others saw the crossbow, they remembered how Evan had destroyed the entire Chaos Alliance base and immediately understood what he was planning.

"That’s the only thing we can do for now," Alice said with a nod before backing away along with Liam and the others.

Evan flew into the sky and positioned himself directly above the giant pit.

He aimed his crossbow at the hole and began creating a Wind Bolt.

While using his Wind Monarch skill to create the bolt, he activated his Touch of Thunder skill to increase its power by an additional thirty percent.

Evan used nearly seventy percent of his Mana, far more than he had used the previous time.

As his Mana was consumed, a deep-green bolt crackling with lightning formed inside the crossbow.

Once the bolt was ready, Evan pointed his crossbow toward the pit and narrowed his eyes.

Purple lightning crackled around the Wind Bolt, and a terrifying aura spread throughout the surrounding area, far more powerful than the one Alice and the others had felt at the Chaos Alliance base.

Evan stared at the pit for a second before releasing the bolt.

Swish!

The bolt transformed into a streak of green light flickering with lightning and instantly disappeared into the pit.
