World Evolution Apocalypse: I Possess The Extraction Ability
Chapter 356: Crushed
The bone sword shattered, and the greatsword slammed into the Zombie King’s head.
Bang!
It was forced to crash into a building, bringing down the place upon itself. Leon grinned.
"How does that feel, bitch?"
Without allowing it to rest, he leaped into the air and struck downward with his blade. The Zombie King quickly moved out of the way, wary.
BAAANNNGGG!
The ground quaked, and several buildings collapsed from the impact. Several zombies fell to the ground, unable to stand properly.
Leon glared at them, then sneered.
"Sneaky bastard."
The Zombie King stood a few meters away from him, holding its bleeding head.
"What... is that cursed weapon?"
Leon slowly turned to it, raising the weapon idly. "Cursed? You know what? Stop talking. It irritates me."
Before the zombie could react, he shot at it again. Having learnt its lesson, it didn’t dare to block. Instead, it shot bone spikes at him, aiming to stall him.
Leon’s eyes flashed as several dark tendrils emerged from his shadow and grabbed the bones, pulling them out of his path.
The Zombie King blinked in disbelief. Realizing that the projectiles couldn’t stop him, it pivoted.
Leon narrowly missed, but immediately turned around and slammed the hilt of the weapon into its chest.
Crack!
The Zombie King’s bone breastplates cracked, and it was launched into another building, demolishing it.
Just as he took a step toward the zombie, a bone whip snapped toward his head. Having expected it, he dodged the attack and shot at the petite zombie.
Just like the Bone-Armored Zombie King, she had become Tier Three.
Leon couldn’t help but wonder the relationship between them. Father and daughter? He wasn’t sure.
"Human, retreat."
It said coldly as he approached it. Leon paused, his eyes wide as he fell into an illusion. The world around him changed, and he found himself in hell.
At least, he believed it was hell. His body was chained to the ground, and lava burned his skin.
He hissed in terrible pain, then activated Mental Dominion. As he did, the illusion was shattered, and he stumbled back.
A bone sword narrowly missed his heart, digging into his ribs instead. He cursed, then swung his sword at the Bone-Armored Zombie King. Fearing the weight of the blade, it pulled back, glaring at him.
Leon ignored its glare and focused on the young Zombie King.
"Now that was revolting."
He had almost been killed, just like that. Raising the sword, he coated it in its shadow and activated Shadow Mantle while his wound healed.
Perhaps, he wasn’t taking them seriously enough.
’Or should I nuke them?’
Even with Selene nowhere near him, he could imagine her shouting "NO" and shooting him a glare.
’Sigh.’
As he exhaled, he vanished in a flash of light. He reappeared behind the Bone-Armored Zombie King, swinging his sword straight at its back. Knowing it couldn’t turn around fast enough, the zombie decided to mount a full defense.
Layer after layer of bone armor grew on its back, ready to receive the impact. At the same time, the female Zombie King wrapped the whip around its arm and punched at his stomach.
If he didn’t pull back, the spiked arm would dig into his midsection.
Leon sneered. He abruptly changed the trajectory of his attack, bringing the blade upon the female Zombie King instead.
As he did, he kicked the back of the Bone-Armored Zombie King, launching it several meters away.
The young Zombie King’s expression changed. It hurriedly pulled back, raising its thin but powerful arms to block.
Leon almost felt pity for it.
"Human, r—"
Before it could use any strange ability on him, he used Mental Dominion on it, cutting off its concentration. The zombie faltered and received the full force of his attack.
BANG!
The entire district shook as the zombie was forced to the ground, crushed. Its limbs were broken into pieces, and it could no longer stand up. A mutant zombie from the horde rushed forward and stretched its tentacle arms to pick the injured zombie up, but a shadow spear killed it immediately.
The Bone-Armored Zombie King turned toward Leon and saw him raise his blade again.
"No!!! That’s my daughter!!!"
Leon sneered. Without even replying, he brought down the weapon.
BANG!
[You have slain a Level 78 Zombie King!]
[You cannot level up!]
[Progress has been stored!]
Leon sighed, then picked up the green soul crystal before turning to the Bone-Armored Zombie King. It stared at him with fury, as though it couldn’t wait to crush him and feed on his flesh.
Leon clicked his tongue. "One down, one to go."
To his surprise, the Zombie King turned around and ran. Leon blinked, astonished.
"You think you can run?"
He took a step forward, eager to play the cat and mouse game when the realization hit him. It wasn’t just running away from him. It was running toward Selene.
Without hesitation, he activated Minor Teleportation and disappeared in a flash. He reappeared before Selene, who was still busy killing zombies, and felt relieved that he had gotten here first.
She stared at him in surprise, but didn’t have time to ask questions.
The Bone-Armored Zombie King killed its way through its own horde, reaching them less than two seconds after Leon appeared.
Prepared, he swung his sword at its head.
As if anticipating this, the zombie slid under his attack, passing beside him and reaching the silver-haired lady’s side. It all happened in an instant.
Selene stared with wide eyes as a bone sword fell upon her head. She didn’t even have time to react before the attack connected.
Just as the blade touched her scalp, she dissolved into shadows, reappearing beside Leon with her back to him.
He sighed in relief, glad that Shadow Attachment had worked properly. Grabbing the young lady’s arm, he pulled them into the shadows.
They reappeared somewhere far from the battlefield. Leon glanced at her, then turned around.
"Don’t leave this place."
The next moment, he was gone. Selene stared at the ground, then slowly placed a hand over her heart.
’Did I... almost just die?’
Meanwhile, Leon reappeared before the confused Zombie King. It stared at him in shock, taking a few steps back.
Leon gave it a dead-calm gaze, then tightened his grip on the sword.
"You’re dying today."
