Chapter 1084 The Birth Of A Star

The view from the balcony of the Royal Palace of Atlantis overlooked the city. Narissa, the purple-haired Chieftain of the Fomorians, stood completely still, admiring the scenery before her.

As a Fomorian, she had heard stories about the ancient City of Atlantis.

Not too long ago, this same city had fought against their army under the command of Ethan, who was now their ally.

After seeing the Progenitor, Leviathan, in the flesh, the beautiful woman could only thank the Gods that she and the remaining Chieftains were not bull-headed enough to continue the war against the people of the Shire Continent.

“Narissa, do you know the difference between the strong and the weak?” an adorable voice asked, breaking her out of her trance.

As usual, Ethan’s Golden Egg was snuggly perched in her bosom, where it stayed most of the time.

“The strong can do what they want and order the weak to do what they want,” Narissa replied. “Only the strong can survive in this world, after all.”

“While there is some truth in what you said, it isn’t necessarily the truth,” the Golden Egg commented. “Sometimes, being too strong is also a bad thing. When you become too strong, you start to underestimate those who are weaker than you.

“The Fomorians are stronger than humans. This is also true for the other races like the Beastkins, Elves, Dwarves, and other races in this world. And yet, among all the races living on land, humans have the highest population. Do you know why?”

“Isn’t it because of their ridiculous fertility rate?” Narissa asked. “Fomorians are lucky if they can give birth to one child every century. For the Elves, giving birth every two hundred to five hundred years is already a good thing.”

The Golden Egg chuckled. “The real reason is because humans are short-lived. Unlike the other races who could live for hundreds or even thousands of years, the average human life only lasts about 80 years, which is already considered a good thing.

“That said, humans are always on the move, doing as many things as they can—whether it’s innovating and inventing, or improving their crafts. They are simply aware that there’s only so much they can do with their limited lifespan.

“More than anything, humans are able to build kingdoms and expand faster than the other races mainly thanks to their ability to adapt to change.

“They are quite weak, surprisingly so. However, every now and then, exceptional individuals rise within their ranks, giving birth to new ideas and inventions, as well as new means to make their lives better.

“The elves only worry about their Forests, the Dwarves their ale and mountains. As for the Fomorians? They worry constantly about not being able to rise up after their defeat hundreds of years ago.

“The main reason all of you desperately searched for a King is because all of you understood that being strong isn’t everything. The same can be said to this battle that is about to start.”

The Golden Egg shone faintly as if seeing beyond the sea waters, beyond the sky, and beyond the realm of Midgard.

“Stupid Progenitors,” the Golden Egg said in ridicule. “They touched something they shouldn’t have, and now… they have hastened the birth of a Monster.”

At that exact moment, a faint cracking sound reached Narissa’s ears.

A small crack had appeared on the surface of the Golden Egg, but she failed to notice this as she was distracted by the shaking of the City of Atlantis.

“An earthquake?!” Narissa planted her feet firmly onto the ground in order to steady herself.

“Not an earthquake,” the Golden Egg said softly. “It’s an awakening.”

“An awakening?” Narissa asked. “What kind of awakening?”

“Ethan’s.”

“W-What?!”

The buildings of Atlantis lit up one by one, as if they suddenly received power from an energy source that could power the entire city.

Leviathan glanced at the Royal Palace before shifting his direction above the waters, narrowing his eyes.

Atlantis was currently submerged in the deepest part of the sea, and yet, it shone in the darkness like a star whose light couldn’t be hidden.

Inside Ethan’s bedroom, three beautiful ladies, who had just finished making love with their lover, looked at him in a daze.

Ethan’s naked body was floating above the bed, shining with various colors.

In the center of his chest, a purple light shone brighter than the others.

Soon, a purple Origin Magic Crystal manifested, making Nicole, Emma, and Lilith feel like their breaths were taken away by its beauty.

This Origin Magic Crystal then merged with Ethan’s body.

A faint spark appeared at the center of his Origin Magic Crystal before it started to transmit Magical Energy within Ethan’s Magic Circuit.

Countless light tendrils started to grow out of his back, which seemed to move in a wave-like pattern like an aurora borealis.

‘Are those wings?’ Emma thought as she gazed at the tendrils that were coming out of Ethan’s back with awe.

Although she wasn’t certain if her guess was true or not, for her, they looked like wings that seemed to flap faintly, illuminating the room that they were in.

A minute later, Ethan opened his eyes.

Golden pupils that contained great power shone faintly, mesmerizing his lovers who saw it.

Ethan, who had just unlocked his true powers, raised his head to gaze at the ceiling of his room with an expression of defiance.

He wasn’t really looking at the ceiling but at the beings who had started to extend their Divine Senses in his direction.

Just like Atlantis which was shining brightly in the darkness of the deep, Ethan was like a star in the multiverse that had just been born.

His brilliance had caught the attention of countless beings, including those who were fighting in the Lands of Saraqael.

Ashmedai, who was fighting in the front lines, glanced in Ethan’s direction and smirked.

“You sure know how to make an entrance, Ethan,” Ashmedai chuckled. “But are you really ready for what is about to happen next?”

Truth be told, Ethan’s move was very dangerous for the Defenders of Midgard.

In order to reach him, the armies of the Otherworlders must first overcome the staunch Defenders who had been protecting middle-earth for hundreds of years.

However, there were those who had found a loophole in the Weave that protected the Nine Realms.

The best example were the powerful beings from the Plague Faction, who were responsible for kidnapping Lily, forcing Ethan to unlock his true powers.

“Ethan, I just hope you know what you’re doing,” Ashemdai said before shifting his attention back to the Progenitor who had temporarily backed away to glance in the direction where that bright star was shining.

The Progenitor of Magic narrowed her eyes because she had sensed what kind of power revolved around that newly born star.

‘So this is why Ashmedai is overprotective of him,’ Lady Hecate thought. ‘If only I knew about his abilities, I would have definitely kept him back at World’s End.’

As someone who pursued magic and its infinite possibilities, Lady Hecate now saw Ethan as a priceless treasure.

‘The ability to absorb, copy, and bestow powers and Legacies to others… tsk. This boy is really something.’ The King of Fairies, Oberon, couldn’t help but look at Ethan, who once tapped into his power and authority when he was still weak and needed the power of Fairies to use magic.

The members of the Plague Faction, who were all waiting for Ashmedai to come to the negotiation table, all gazed at Ethan in disbelief.

Even Zorathul, whose world had been taken away by Ethan, couldn’t help but look at the young man in a new light.

After the initial surprise faded, the countless Progenitors in the multiverse locked onto the location where the newly birthed star was located.

While all of this was happening, Maple and Cinnamon, who were busy eating gummy bears, glanced at each other before nodding their heads at the same time.

“It’s time,” Maple said.

“Cinnamon thinks this as well.” Cinnamon nodded.

They didn’t act earlier because it wasn’t the right time to act.

But now that their father-in-law had managed to draw everyone’s attention to him, the two little gluttons deemed that the time had come to execute their plan.

“Mother-in-law, excuse me for a bit,” Maple said. “Things might get a bit dark for a short while, but please bear with it.”

“Cinnamon will do her best to be gentle, Mother-in-law,” Cinnamon stated before hugging the capsule where Lily was trapped.

A moment later, the little glutton opened her lips, and sucked up the whole capsule.

Tiruru, who had a strong connection with the capsule, immediately snapped out of her daze and hurried to the location where they had imprisoned Lily.

However, when she arrived at the scene, all she saw was a dug out portion of the floor, where the capsule that imprisoned their captive originally stood.
