Chapter 424: Chapter 312: Olisti: Oh, Just Enslaving a Deity? I Thought You Were Trading with an Outer God.

At the sight, though he had witnessed it before, Isaac couldn’t help but marvel. As expected of a Great Creation, it imitated the Real World with such perfection.

Generally, the interior of a Little World either has no spatial fluctuations, or it has a connection to the outside—which would mean the Little World itself is damaged.

This was true even for the Dimension Worlds of Dimensional Demon Gods.

Only a Material Realm like the Real World possessed such perfect rules. At least, Isaac had never before encountered such a situation anywhere else.

After a moment of wonder, the jagged Void reappeared behind him and swallowed him whole. He had chosen a location for the ritual, but he still needed to prepare the materials.

When Isaac reappeared, he was just outside a Magic Capital.

"Hm? Isaac?" Isaac’s figure had just materialized when a Grey-robed Mage, holding a crucible ladle, appeared nearby. He watched Isaac warily. "What are you doing here?"

"Er... I need to buy some ritual materials. I was wondering if you..."

"Don’t have any!"

"..." Isaac was speechless. "I haven’t even said what I need yet."

"Oh. Then tell me."

"Starlight and Time Shards, and also..."

"Don’t have them!"

Isaac: "..."

Looking at the Grey-robed Mage’s vigilant expression, Isaac felt a headache coming on. He sighed and explained, "I’m not using them to trade with an Outer God. This is for a normal experiment."

"I know, but I really don’t have them!"

Olisti—a representative of the Astrology School’s middle generation, a master who had developed numerous Tier Four Time Magic spells, and holder of the titles Star Great Mage and Time Mage—shook his head with finality.

"Then can you tell me where I might be able to gather them in this world?"

"I don’t know."

"...Then do you know anyone who might have them?"

"I don’t know."

Isaac: "..."

Faced with Olisti, who had become the very incarnation of "I don’t know," Isaac was completely stumped. Other materials were one thing; he had the ability to find substitutes. But the caliber of these two was simply too high. With his current power, there was no way for him to extract their underlying Concepts from other substances.

’I have to find a way to convince this master...’

Isaac’s eyes darted, and a plan came to mind.

"Sigh..." Isaac let out a long sigh and said with feigned helplessness, "Well, Master, since you’ve put it that way, I suppose I have no choice but to go see what the Outer Gods have to offer. Such rotten luck, isn’t it?"

With that, Isaac turned as if to leave.

"Wait!" Just as Isaac had predicted, Olisti called out to him, his face a mask of conflict. "Actually, I just remembered... I have a refinement spell. Hold on, let me find it for you."

Hearing this, Isaac, whose back was still turned, allowed a slight smile to play on his lips. ’It’s just as the rumors said.’ This Master Olisti truly despised Mad Witches, and not in the way others did—a simple aversion, like trying to avoid stepping in something foul.

No, Olisti’s hatred ran deeper. He believed the current Path of Wizardry was already vast and accommodating. Thanks to the efforts of the Great Wizards and Wizard Organizations, the new generation of Wizards—be they Legendary Mages or Arcanists—enjoyed an exceptionally privileged environment for growth.

Besides, with various Life Extension Magic spells readily available, longevity was hardly an issue. Even a common Grand Wizard could live for three or four hundred years. With so much time and so many resources, young Wizards had absolutely no need to follow the path of the old masters and trade with Outer Gods, ruining their own bright futures in the process.

That was why he detested Mad Witches.

And it was why he had spoken up to stop Isaac upon hearing he was prepared to trade with an Outer God.

This was also why Isaac, despite knowing two other people possessed these items, had sought out Olisti instead.

Of course, he wasn’t pinning all his hopes on the master. If he truly couldn’t obtain the materials here, Isaac really would go and trade with an Outer God!

Unlike when he had first become a Wizard, Isaac now had a profound understanding of a Mad Witch’s plight. Unless it was at a mid-tier or larger trade gathering, a Mad Witch couldn’t hope to trade for anything from anyone, not even at smaller events.

And that included their own kind!

That’s what reputation gets you.

In a way, this was one of the reasons the legacy of the Mad Witches had persisted to this day.

There was no helping it. Compared to their overly cautious peers, the Outer Gods were far more amicable in the eyes of many a High-Tier Mad Witch.

This was especially true for Isaac.

If Isaac hadn’t been determined to completely change his ways, he’d have already finished his "scavenging" by now...

While Isaac was lost in thought, Olisti flew out of the Magic Capital and casually tossed him a Magic Book. "These are my early manuscripts," he said. "They detail some of the theoretical structures of the Astrological and Time Factions’ Magic. You’ll find what you need in there."

After a moment of silence, Olisti added, "Study them well. And stop being a gambler."

Looking at the manuscripts in his hand and hearing Olisti’s words, Isaac was stunned for a moment. Then he nodded earnestly. "Don’t worry, Master. I’m really not trading with an Outer God this time!"

Although Olisti was a Legendary Mage, he acted more like an Arcanist. He held little regard for factional divides and greatly enjoyed academic exchange, believing that Magic could only advance through open dialogue.

His casual toss of the manuscripts to Isaac was a perfect example. Those were priceless magical manuscripts from the Astrology and Time Systems!

It was no exaggeration to say that if such a thing were to appear in the world, it would cause a bloodbath!

Since the master himself was so open, Isaac certainly wasn’t going to be stingy with his own meager secrets.

As Olisti looked it over, he nodded repeatedly. ’Indeed,’ he thought, ’the "flavor" is authentic and pure!’

Not only was this not a ritual for trading with an Outer God, but its contents lacked their filthy stench. It had the pure, authentic hallmark of an Old Miracle Wizard!

This was a rare thing to see.

Many Mad Witches, after gaining Knowledge from Outer Gods, would use it recklessly, relying on the protection of the Gate of Legends. They would continue until they inevitably brought disaster upon themselves, burning to ash and cinder!

But Isaac’s work was clean. He ’only’ wanted to control and enslave a Deity. While that might not sound pleasant, the methods he employed were undoubtedly legitimate. ’Now *this* is what a Wizard should be like!’

"Excellent! Truly excellent!" Olisti was extremely satisfied, nodding his head repeatedly. "There’s hardly anything that needs modification. To achieve this at your age is truly remarkable. It seems you haven’t neglected your pursuit of Knowledge."

A faint smile touched Isaac’s lips. ’The master’s praise is more gratifying than looting a hundred Outer Gods!’

’As expected. Those common fools who only know how to cower don’t know a damn thing!’

"Hmm..." Olisti mused. "Although I can’t spot any flaws, I feel there must be room for improvement. Since you plan on using the Day of the Divine Star... come. Let me show you something. You might gain a new insight."

With that, Olisti turned, transformed into a streak of light, and flew into the Magic Capital.

Isaac froze for a second, then his face broke into a wide grin as he hurried to follow.
