Chapter 419: Chapter 307: Divine Servant Demon, Elf Bow, Trist

In the underground laboratory of the Underground Palace City, Isaac watched the Mother Goddess Maxu Kant—who had come to deliver a Divine Fragment, her face radiant with a motherly glow—and his brow furrowed slightly. ’This one... isn’t the Erosion from her Divinity happening a little too fast?’

Barely half a year had passed, yet Isaac could already see very little Human Nature left in her. By the end of the year, at the latest, she would lose her Human Nature completely!

’This isn’t good...’

Isaac did need Divine Servant Demons, but Maxu Kant was clearly not someone he was considering for that role. After all, the Mother Goddess’s combat abilities were quite average; she was basically a super-sized support character.

’Looks like the experiments to suppress Divinity will have to be moved up...’

For the Underground Palace City, Maxu Kant’s existence was both special and important. It wasn’t that she couldn’t lose her Human Nature—under normal circumstances, it was only a matter of time before they all did, so it wasn’t actually that important to them.

At least, that was the case for Virtual Deities.

But no matter how unimportant it was, she couldn’t lose her Human Nature too early. Otherwise, things would be fine while Isaac was here, but as soon as he left the Endless Tower, a Maxu Kant controlled by her Divinity would immediately leave the Underground Palace City. Obeying her divine instincts, she would spread her Divine Power throughout the entire Wilderness Dungeon, and even try to break out beyond it!

This wouldn’t be a good thing for either the Underground Palace City or Maxu Kant herself.

Because she was too weak. Forget leaving the world of the Wilderness Dungeon; she would be torn apart by the other Tier Four Demons within it. At the same time, the Underground Palace City would be severely weakened from losing Maxu Kant.

She was their creator, after all. Naturally, Isaac didn’t want to see that happen.

With a wave of his hand, he dismissed Maxu Kant, telling her to take the Evil Eye with her. The creation of Divine Fragments had to continue, and among the Three Gods of the Underground Palace City, she was the one with the most free time. Naturally, she needed to keep working hard.

After Maxu Kant left, Isaac began to weave a new Virtual Divinity. This time, the Divine Powers he chose came from the Elf God, the Tree Shepherd, and the Forest Archer—all Deities of the Elf Race.

Since this Virtual Divinity was meant for an Elf, he naturally wanted to ensure high compatibility.

Soon, a green Crystal Stone engraved with the image of a Long-eared Elf Archer appeared in Isaac’s hand.

Divine Name: Elf Bow

Divine Power: Summoning Tree Man, Marksmanship, Elf

Divine Authority: Hunting

The faint light dissipated. Isaac, now aware of the Virtual Divinity’s information, nodded in satisfaction. The result was about what he had calculated beforehand. All three Divine Powers were quite practical. At full power, the Summoning Tree Man ability could call forth a powerful Tier Four Tree Man!

Furthermore, due to the Deity’s Power Traits, its own strength wouldn’t decrease at all. It could summon a Tree Man to act as a front-line tank and shield, while it seized the opportunity to draw its bow and fire. This would be excellent for fighting alongside Isaac or battling alone.

As for the Divine Power, Elf, it had almost no direct impact on combat. Generally speaking, this type of racial Divine Power had two functions. The first was to help the Deity spread their Faith, which was especially true for a Racial God.

The second function was providing considerable buffs to its Followers and Believers. These buffs could be either active or passive. The passive ones were all-around boosts to base stats—it could even increase the mysterious luck stat, though not by much.

The active buffs, on the other hand, were powerful. They could drastically increase stats in a very short time—what’s commonly known as a Burst Seed!

Of course, neither of these two functions was useful to Isaac. The upper limit of a Virtual Deity’s power was already locked. Developing Faith was not only useless but would also attract the hostility of the Church, making it a losing proposition.

’As for Followers...’

’What does a Servant Demon need Followers for?’

Isaac’s needs were different from those of the Underground Palace City. Back in the Real World, he had no shortage of Tier One or Tier Two combatants. Besides, even if he did, Isaac was far more proficient at creating low-level Transcendants than any God.

However, while the Divine Power of Elf was useless for the Virtual Deity, it was somewhat useful for Isaac. He had prepared it for himself. He planned to use this Divine Power to refine a Divine Artifact and see if he could, like with the Divine Artifact Blood Pool, grant the Elf Bow some capacity for growth.

Of course, not all the results were within Isaac’s control. The Divine Authority, for example, wasn’t the Elf he had expected. He had been aiming for a Racial God, which was why he had used Divine Powers from Deities of the Elf Race.

’Who knew it would turn out to be Hunting...’

’That’s a pretty big deviation.’

"Is it because there’s already an Elf God? But that’s not right. I’ve never heard of Racial Gods being unique." Isaac stroked his chin, studying the Virtual Divinity with some confusion.

The Racial Gods of this world weren’t unique, or at least most of them weren’t. Take the Elf Race, for example. Just counting the broad-Concept Elf Racial Gods, they had four of them!

And if you further subdivided the Elf Race to include Tree Elves, Wind Elves, High Elves, Dark Night Elves, and even Half-Elves, the number would break into the double digits!

In fact, if you included the ones among the Outer Gods, the number would almost break into the triple digits!

So it was unlikely that the number was restricted in some way. After studying it for a moment, Isaac couldn’t see anything different. Shaking his head, he tossed the Virtual Divinity onto the sleeping Elf lying on the operating table.

A dazzling radiance of Divine Power flared, and a tide of Divine Power surged. Waves of Miracle energy transformed into invisible ripples, merging into the Elf’s body along with the illusory ritual of Becoming a God.

Soon, the fusion was complete. The Elf on the operating table slowly opened its eyes. Its golden-green eyes were devoid of any emotion. It rose, a suit of emerald-green Leather Armor clinging to its slender frame, and bowed expressionlessly to Isaac.

"Elf Bow Trist, at your service, Divine Master."

After a respectful bow, Trist stood to the side, head lowered, awaiting Isaac’s orders.

Isaac looked Trist up and down, a satisfied smile spreading across his face. It was just as he’d thought. If he activated Miracle Domination during the Divinity fusion stage, he could have Divinity directly replace Human Nature, unlike with the Master of Blood, which required a certain buffer period.

’However, it’s not yet clear what drawbacks this method might have. I’ll need to do more Observation.’

While making a mental note of this, Isaac casually set up an Evil God Summoning ritual, took a sliver of the Evil God’s Divine Power, wove it into a Virtual Divinity, and tossed it to the Elf.

"Take this into the Underground Palace to devour Demon Flesh. Once it has finished coalescing, you will join Maxu Kant in creating Divine Fragments."

"As you command, Divine Master." Trist accepted the illusory Virtual Divinity, nodded, and transformed into a streak of divine light, flying out of the underground laboratory.

"Alright, now I can start creating the Divine Spirit Book!" Isaac cracked his knuckles, looking at the pile of materials before him with great anticipation, the corners of his mouth turning up slightly.
