Chapter 412: Chapter 300: The Wizard’s Version: To Revive the Lost Teachings, to Establish the People’s Destiny, and to Open an Age of Peace

Isaac sat in his laboratory, lost in thought. His fingers tapped lightly on a sheet of paper outlining his next three primary research directions.

The first, of course, was analyzing Miracle·Divine Sealing. The goal remained to automate the creation of a Virtual Divinity by means of a Miracle Ceremony. If he could truly complete this research, the day the ceremony was actualized would be the day Isaac became a Great Wizard!

The second was the creation of the Divine Spirit Book.

The Divine Spirit Book was another product of Miracle·Divine Sealing, besides the Virtual Divinity. It could be used to form contracts with Deities, allowing one to unconditionally wield their power—and even borrow the power of a contracted Deity to bind and enslave other Deities!

It was the epitome of using gods to control gods!

Though, with the advent of Miracle Domination, the Divine Spirit Book’s abilities seemed less crucial.

After all, the Virtual Deities bound by Miracle Domination were indistinguishable from regular Deities of the same tier—though rare species like Tier Four Deities basically didn’t exist in this world...

This wasn’t a major issue, however. The Divine Spirit Book couldn’t be used to control Deities of a higher tier anyway. The risks of contracting a Deity whose tier was higher than Isaac’s were enormous—unless the one contracting with you was a True God.

But given Isaac’s reputation as a Mad Witch—loathed by man and beast—a True God merely responding to his ritual would be considered an act of immense divine grace. A contract?

Utterly impossible!

Isaac was self-aware enough to know that much.

That was why he had focused his efforts on Virtual Deities all this time. Despite being a Mad Witch, he actually preferred more stable methods. Safety was more important than anything else.

But things were different now. The Virtual Divinity, a product of Miracle Magic·God Sealing, had already given Isaac many pleasant surprises, and there were many more waiting to be unearthed. So, what about the Divine Spirit Book, which, like the Virtual Divinity, was also a product of Miracle Magic·God Sealing?

Isaac believed the Divine Spirit Book surely held many surprises waiting to be discovered as well. Therefore, in the coming days, he needed to craft it.

And that was where things got tricky.

Unlike the Virtual Divinity, which could be woven using only Divine Power, the requirements for weaving the Divine Spirit Book were much steeper. For instance, it required at least ten strands of Divine Power!

And they had to be strands of Divine Power from different Deities!

Furthermore, the other necessary materials varied depending on the attributes of the Divine Power used. The one silver lining was that the most common universal component—and the stabilizing agent used to increase the margin for error during the creation process—was the Soul Crystal.

Although Soul Crystals were considered a rare material, by a stroke of luck, before he entered the Endless Tower, the Terra Royal Family had given him a treasure in addition to the Miracle Lampwick—the Soul Mirror!

A wondrous treasure capable of creating souls.

And a Soul Crystal was the precipitated product of crushing multiple souls. In other words, for Isaac, this stuff was in limitless supply!

Isaac had this in mind when he chose it. Soul Crystals were a more versatile ritual component than flesh and blood.

And they served as excellent stabilizers, too.

The third topic was more intriguing. It was a research subject in the field of Alchemy: "On the Possibility of Popularizing ’Magical Treasures’!"

Magical Treasures—the kind of wondrous items from the novels of his past life that captured the endless imagination of readers. They went by different names in the works of different cultures, but the descriptions were largely the same: an item or weapon that possessed some kind of mystical power.

Interestingly, in this highly advanced Wizard Civilization, Isaac hadn’t seen anything similar. Or rather, such things hadn’t been developed, like Relics, for example.

Relics were clearly the "Magical Treasures" of this Western Fantasy World. Yet, Isaac had only encountered them when he was Tier One and Tier Two. By the time he reached Tier Three, they had all but vanished completely.

Isaac himself had gradually lost interest in them. He’d even tossed the evolving Relic his father had given him to the Three-eyed Goblin to use. His renewed focus on the subject was related to the Miracle he obtained after advancing to Tier Four.

The Miracle he’d chosen for his advancement was based on the story of the "Divine Enthronement." The personal Magic he gained from it was the ability to create the Virtual Divinity and the Divine Spirit Book. However, the reward for completing the Miracle Ceremony—the version engraved into the rules of the world—wasn’t the Virtual Divinity or the Divine Spirit Book. It was the Magical Treasures from the story of "Divine Enthronement."

This caught Isaac’s attention, because he felt this could be another path to greatness!

Yes, a path to greatness!

For the current Isaac, the path to greatness was no longer so mysterious. It could be summarized in a simple set of principles: to carry on the lost knowledge of the past, to give the people a new purpose, and to bring about an era of eternal peace!

As long as one could achieve such an effect, one was on a path to greatness.

This conclusion wasn’t hard to reach. Anyone could figure it out with a little analysis of the patterns. In fact, one didn’t even need to analyze—you could just copy what others had done. The examples of the Endless Wilderness and the Endless Sea were right there. If you could also create a domain that provided infinite resources, you too could become a Great Wizard.

But...

That was the hardest part.

And after some research, Isaac discovered that Magical Treasures, or rather, Relics, truly had the potential to become a Great Creation!

The reason was simple. After researching the history of Wizards, Isaac discovered that the decline of Relics was closely tied to the development of Wizards themselves!

Logically, as the Wizard Civilization advanced, wondrous tools like Relics should have advanced alongside it. But that wasn’t what happened.

As the Wizard Civilization developed, the scope of what Magic could accomplish grew ever wider. For the Wizards who wielded it, their personal capabilities naturally expanded as well. When faced with any problem, a Wizard’s first thought was always whether it could be solved directly with Magic.

Not to rely on tools.

This phenomenon grew more and more pronounced as the Wizard Civilization developed. It was what was colloquially known as an arms race.

It was as if every Wizard was expected to be a master of all trades, capable of handling any and every task alone.

Under these circumstances, the development of Alchemy became skewed, gradually shifting its focus toward Golems and infrastructure projects.

In the current Wizarding World, most Extraordinary Equipment consisted of various weapons and armor with extremely one-dimensional functions: they either boosted defense, enhanced attack, or increased one’s mana or mana regeneration. There was nothing particularly remarkable about them.

Moreover, even these were only used up to Tier Two. From Tier Three onward, only Knights had any real need for equipment; Wizards mostly relied on their own power.

Even with the rare, wondrous treasures like Francis’s Life Derivation Technique or the Soul Mirror, when one fell into a Wizard’s hands, their first thought was usually whether they could deconstruct its abilities into a spell they could master themselves...

...because that’s exactly what Isaac himself would do.

Not that this way of thinking was wrong, but... wouldn’t it be nice to have another option, to make the world a more interesting place?

Shattering the current paradigm of the Wizarding World would undoubtedly be beneficial for the development of the Wizard Civilization.

The credit for such a thing would very likely count as a great achievement. The only problem was that if he only initiated it, and the subsequent development was carried out by other Wizards, the credit probably wouldn’t fall to him...

Furthermore, his opening move would have to be stunning enough to capture the attention of the entire Wizard Civilization.

That would be a considerable challenge.

Of course, if it wasn’t difficult, it wouldn’t be a feat worthy of a Great Wizard.
