Chapter 399: Chapter 293: Wicked Solomon Imp, This Old Man Will Personally...

And the oldest kind at that!

’This guy’s probably got a few screws loose...’

That was why he was so wary when he saw Isaac. This was a madman—one who was not much weaker than himself. There was no telling what he was capable of. And what’s more...

He looked up at the Master of Blood, who was hovering half a step behind Isaac, a grave look flashing in his eyes. ’There’s no mistaking it. That’s a God!’

A True God, no less!

Just like that Staff of Deformation. Although he didn’t know why it was only Tier Four, its status was undeniably that of a genuine True God!

"I am Isaac Solomon. My apologies for the disturbance. I mean you no harm; I’m just here to find my test subject," Isaac said politely, cupping his hands in a gesture of respect.

’I have no choice,’ Isaac thought. ’This guy has mastered Mysterious Trace, which basically makes him invincible. There’s no need to make an enemy of him. A thief can strike at any time, but you can’t be on guard forever.’

’There’s no shame in backing down a little.’

’A test subject?’ Hearing this, the Wizard’s lips twitched. His eyes couldn’t help but fall upon the Master of Blood behind Isaac, and his mind was thrown into turmoil.

’This guy... he actually completed a God Creation experiment?’

’And it looks like he even succeeded in the enslavement part. How did he do it?’

Beyond his shock, the Wizard couldn’t help but feel a flicker of curiosity—a curiosity for Isaac’s Mysterious and wicked Knowledge. 𝘧𝓇ℯℴ𝓂

But this curiosity lasted only a moment before he forcefully snuffed it out.

Although he was also quite interested in the power of Deities and was conducting a fair amount of research himself, none of it was as insane as Isaac’s work. His brain wasn’t broken; he had no intention of becoming a Mad Witch.

Besides, by now, the God Creation experiments that had once stumped countless genius Wizards were no longer an insurmountable challenge. Even the methods for controlling the results of God Creation were quite well-developed. For example, some Legendary Mage Organizations kept two or three True Gods in captivity.

However, none of this could be done out in the open. If you were a Tier Six Mage, you could do whatever you wanted. Never mind God Creation and keeping Gods captive; you could capture a True God and use it as your personal fucktoy, and no one would dare say a word against it.

But clearly, neither Isaac nor he was a Tier Six Mage. Therefore, they had to abide by the contract established between the Tier Six Mages and the Deities, which forbade the private research of God Creation and related technologies for keeping Deities captive.

’Truly a Mad Witch...’

He took a deep breath and said, "My name is Jörmungandr Nois. The test subject you mentioned... is it a Deity?"

"Yes. The Staff of Deformation. Right now, its Divinity should be in the hands of a human, a native of this world."

Hearing this, Jörmungandr sighed. Since things had come to this, there was no room for compromise. He waved his hand, and a middle-aged man holding a Tumor Staff slowly emerged from the Void, staring at Isaac with a wary expression.

Yes, *him*!

Isaac was surprised to find that this man hadn’t actually become a Deity!

He had almost completely mastered the power of the Divinity, yet he hadn’t become a Deity and still retained his human identity. ’This guy... is interesting!’

"Is this your research?"

Although it was phrased as a question, Isaac’s tone was quite certain. ’As expected of a master who has touched upon [Mysterious] at Tier Four. He really has a few tricks up his sleeve!’

Jörmungandr noticed the surprise in Isaac’s eyes and couldn’t help but smile smugly. Clearly, Isaac’s shock was very satisfying to him.

"My apologies. I didn’t realize he was your test subject, so I took the liberty of making a few modifications." Although his words were apologetic, Isaac could still detect a hint of self-satisfaction.

Just a hint, of course.

After all, compared to Isaac’s God Creation and his enslave... domination of a Deity, Jörmungandr’s work was far behind in both skill and audacity.

"No problem, it’s not a big deal. But I am quite curious, how did you do this? Would you be open to an exchange?" Isaac asked curiously, stroking his chin.

He was genuinely curious. Although this technique was technologically inferior to his Miracle Domination and even shared the same risk of losing control as a Virtual Deity, he had to admit that it greatly expanded the strategic value of his Virtual Divinity.

It turned it from a super-sized Servant Demon into a plug-and-play superweapon!

The flexibility would be greatly increased. And if removing the Virtual Divinity wasn’t fatal, then Isaac could start bestowing Virtual Divinities upon his subordinates and allies. This would grant his faction an explosive boost in power!

Even if its removal was fatal, it wouldn’t matter. He could just give them to subordinates who had guaranteed loyalty but less potential. He could grant them an [Eternal] Virtual Divinity and instantly transform them from a complete nobody into a Tier Four True God!

That would be absolutely insane!

Unfortunately...

Faced with Isaac’s extremely tempting inquiry, Jörmungandr shook his head and refused without the slightest hesitation.

’Are you kidding me? An academic exchange with a Mad Witch?’

’I’d be afraid of becoming a Mad Witch myself by the time we were done!’

’My current path is working out great. No need to mess things up.’

Even without the Endless Tower, Jörmungandr could advance to Tier Five after a few years of normal Cultivation. With his talent, if he put in a little more effort then, he might even be able to attain the title of Demigod at Tier Five. Why would he be crazy enough to become a Mad Witch?

So, he chose to reject Isaac’s very tempting offer.

However, considering Isaac’s outstanding talent, he thought for a moment and didn’t reject him completely. An academic exchange was out of the question; he had no interest in Isaac’s filthy Knowledge!

But giving a one-sided pointer was not a problem. So, after some thought, Jörmungandr said simply, "Mysterious. I used the power of the Mysterious."

"Mysterious?" Isaac frowned, realizing things were not that simple.

A faint light swirled in his eyes as the power of his [Analysis] Authority wrapped around the Staff of Deformation and began to analyze its data.

Feeling that chilling gaze, the Staff of Deformation’s heart clenched. He subconsciously tightened his grip on the Tumor Staff and mobilized his Divine Power, trying to block the power contained within that gaze.

But to his horror, under this gaze, he found he was completely unable to mobilize any of the Staff of Deformation’s power!

This had never happened before!

He knew that even when facing the incredibly powerful Jörmungandr, the most he could do was reduce his powerful Tier Four Divine Power to the weakness of Tier One!

’Who is this guy?’

But soon, the Staff of Deformation vaguely understood. He noticed that only the Divine Power of the Staff of Deformation was being restricted; his own Superpower had not been sealed!

And so, driven by fear, the Staff of Deformation immediately activated his Superpower—Mysterious Sea!

SPLASH~~~

As the Staff of Deformation activated his Superpower, Isaac, who was in the middle of analyzing his data, suddenly felt the scenery around him change drastically. A sea breeze blew against his face, the sound of crashing waves echoed in his ears, and he abruptly discovered that he was standing on a beach!

"Is this... a Spatial Superpower? No, the Wilderness Dungeon has no ocean. An Illusion Technique? It doesn’t seem that simple..." Isaac wasn’t alarmed, instead sizing up his surroundings with great interest.

Because he could feel the aura of the [Mysterious] in the environment around him!

This must be the Staff of Deformation’s Superpower, and also one of the reasons he wasn’t assimilated by the Virtual Divinity.

Just a few glances after arriving were enough for Isaac to get a general understanding of this Superpower’s effect. It essentially sent a person’s consciousness into this mysterious Space and locked it away. The Staff of Deformation’s Divinity was also in here.

Getting out would be simple—at least, not difficult for Isaac.

It was like the old saying went: the Mysterious yields to a higher Mysterious!

Compared to Jörmungandr, the Mysterious that Isaac had mastered was hardly worth mentioning. But that was only in comparison to him. When compared to the Staff of Deformation, it was the Staff of Deformation’s Mysterious that was found wanting.

The only reason he had been caught was that the level of [Mysterious] the Superpower touched upon during its activation was extremely high, which was why Isaac was pulled in without any resistance. But that was limited to that single instant.

Since he could leave at any time and the Master of Blood was watching over his body outside, he might as well explore this place thoroughly. Perhaps he could even advance his own mastery of the [Mysterious].

With a hint of anticipation, Isaac began to explore the Mysterious Sea...
