Chapter 396: Chapter 292: The Evil God and the Evil God’s Dominator

The Erosion of Divinity was imperceptible. Even though Isaac’s methods of catalysis weren’t particularly sophisticated—so much so that the gnome noticed something was amiss several times—it ultimately dismissed these feelings under the influence of Divinity.

Just like that, three days passed in the blink of an eye. The gnome’s work was complete; the Blood Pool it resided in had been thoroughly Enhanced, becoming a genuine Divine Artifact!

This Divine Artifact did indeed fulfill the gnome’s desire to increase its strength. It could enhance the Master of Blood’s Divine Power output efficiency. Coupled with the inexhaustible nature of Divine Power itself, this meant its power had increased by a significant margin.

More importantly, the Divine Artifact itself could grow. This way, even if the power limit of the Virtual Divinity was locked, the Deity itself would effectively grow stronger as long as the Divine Artifact it wielded did.

Although the potential increase wasn’t substantial, it did indeed raise the Virtual Deity’s power.

In that respect, the gnome did have some talent.

A pity it wasn’t much.

Three days passed, and the forging of the Divine Artifact Blood Pool was complete. But in the process, the gnome itself had successfully transformed from Master of Blood, Gnome, Gabriel... into simply the Master of Blood!

Its Human Nature was completely supplanted by Divinity; it had lost its sense of self!

Deep within the Blood Pool, the moment the gnome fully became the Master of Blood, crimson Divine Power erupted from its body. It enveloped its expressionless form, and its entire body rapidly dissolved, transforming into a single, whirling drop of deep-red source blood.

Then, the deep-red source blood began to twist and stretch. A moment later, a crimson, cloaked humanoid figure appeared at the bottom of the Blood Pool.

Although this sanguine figure possessed a humanoid height and shape, its face was a complete blur. The hands hidden within its sleeves had no palms, but were instead wisps of slowly drifting blood-red mist.

Once the transformation was complete, the Master of Blood turned into a streak of crimson light and shot toward the sky. A moment later, it appeared before Isaac, standing silently, awaiting his command.

Isaac observed the Master of Blood before him, stroking his chin with his right hand and nodding thoughtfully.

’The experiment...’

’It seems the experiment is a preliminary success. My theory was correct. Once Divinity completely supplants Human Nature, I can indeed control the corresponding Virtual Deity by leveraging the special connection between myself and the Virtual Divinity.’

’The Master of Blood’s current form is proof enough.’

As a Deity—a semi-innate one—the Master of Blood actually has two forms. One is the form representing its Divine Authority: the drop of deep-red source blood it became upon devouring Human Nature. The other is the gnomish form of the Virtual Deity, Gabriel. After all, however artificial the process, it still underwent the ritual of Becoming a God.

Furthermore, as the first master of this Virtual Divinity, it was only natural for Gabriel’s image to be imprinted within the Divinity itself.

Under normal circumstances, if this Virtual Divinity were passed down, future Masters of Blood would, over time, gradually begin to resemble the green-skinned gnome in appearance.

If a successor could even manage to completely master the Divinity of the Master of Blood, then Gnome Gabriel would have a chance to achieve a true form of Undying!

In other words, future Masters of Blood wouldn’t just transform in appearance. Their personalities, souls, and even their wills would slowly change, until they eventually became that very same gnome from the past—Gabriel!

Of course, for a Virtual Deity, this is practically impossible.

The Master of Blood’s current humanoid appearance, however, was a manifestation of its loyalty to Isaac. Because Isaac was human, he had the highest affinity for the humanoid form.

Therefore, even without a direct command from Isaac, it would automatically assume a humanoid shape.

’But while the theory itself isn’t wrong...’

’it’s only a preliminary success. I’m still a long way from the ideal outcome. And the awkward part is, the ideal outcome...’

’...now seems impossible to achieve!’

Although Isaac had complete control over the Master of Blood, due to the unique nature of Divinity, its will had lost the capacity for "thought." The Master of Blood was now more like a machine under Isaac’s control than a subordinate capable of independent thought.

Isaac sighed.

He knew he had been too greedy. ’I wanted absolute loyalty, but I also wanted it to be able to think for itself. Where in the world can you find something so perfect?’

Freedom is the ultimate aspiration of all beings who possess a sense of self!

’Still, it’s not a complete failure,’ he mused. ’In terms of combat, at least, there’s no difference. It still possesses the fighting power of a Strong Tier Four, and it’s even more reliable than before!’

Because it has no self, there’s no need to worry about it slacking off during a battle, let alone stabbing you in the back. When fighting alongside it, you have no rear to guard.

’From that perspective, this experiment is still a great success!’

’Of course, this is just a single successful case. It doesn’t prove this Magic is without its flaws. More experiments and more data are needed.’

So, after briefly observing the Master of Blood and confirming its condition, Isaac willed it, and the Master of Blood raised its right arm.

In that instant, a river seemed to flow backward into the sky!

The crimson Blood Pool on the ground below swept toward the heavens, surging along the Master of Blood’s right arm. It gradually coalesced into a crimson sash that coiled around the Master of Blood’s body.

After recalling the Divine Artifact: Blood Pool, the Master of Blood dissolved into a streak of crimson light that flowed into the index finger of Isaac’s right hand, reforming as a Ruby Ring.
