But now, as the technologies supporting Virtual Divinity gradually improved, Isaac’s ambitions stirred once more. He simply hadn’t made a move yet.

But now, he had completely abandoned the idea. He was curious, to be sure, but he didn’t dare go.

From that brief message, he could deduce that the Great Wizard did not want any cross-world travel to occur. Isaac couldn’t guarantee he could resist the urge to study the principles of this new world while hunting Prince Norns...

So Isaac rejected the tempting mission outright, eliminating any possibility of him making a mistake at its source.

After Isaac’s refusal, a wisp of will departed from him.

"Hooo..."

Isaac let out a long sigh of relief. He casually put away the Evil Eye and wiped the cold sweat from his forehead. Looking at the ravaged ground with a mournful sigh, his figure transformed into a streak of light and shot into the distance.

Three days passed in the blink of an eye. Isaac’s figure slowly materialized above a Blood Pool. He looked down, sensing the state of the Master of Blood beneath it. A flash of surprise flickered in his eyes. ’Is this a coincidence, or is there some kind of rule at play here?’

The Demon that had fused to become the Master of Blood was merely a Gnome, a creature about the same size and strength as a goblin. It, too, had green skin, but a Gnome’s intelligence was slightly higher.

But only marginally so—just a bit more intelligent than a common beast.

Unlike the fantasy stories from Isaac’s previous life, the Gnomes of this world had always been Demons. They never had a great civilization and were perpetually weak—so weak, in fact, that they were nearly extinct in the Real World. Only the Truth Association still kept a few.

But that was what made this so strange. In terms of intelligence, physical constitution, and control over its own desires, the Gnome was far inferior to the Stone Dwarf. Yet, when it came to fusing with the Virtual Divinity, this Gnome was vastly superior!

Incredible!

’Could this be a case of hitting rock bottom and bouncing back?’

Isaac was surprised, but it wasn’t an outlandish thought. After all, he had a goblin under his command that had become a Legendary Mage, and that creature was even weaker than a Gnome!

They had simply received the favor of a Great Wizard, becoming a part of the Wizard and World Play, and in turn gained an unparalleled reproductive ability. That was why they grew like weeds, crop after crop.

’But this is perfect. It’s a great opportunity to test that new method. The Gnome’s better state should somewhat compensate for the difference in its base attributes!’

With that thought, Isaac extended his right hand. He tapped his index finger lightly in the Void, and an invisible ripple spread out. It slowly seeped down into the Blood Pool, silently merging into the mind of the Master of Blood—and into the whirring Divinity within.

"Hm?"

Deep within the Blood Pool, the Gnome, who was using Divine Power to enhance the pool, froze for a moment. ’Just now... did the Divinity just move? That’s never happened before. Could that Wizard be coming back?’

At the thought, a sense of urgency gripped the Gnome. It refused to go back to being that frail weakling that any random Demon could kill!

’I!’

’The Master of Blood!’

’Gabriel!’

’Am a God!’

’I will control my own destiny!’

As it thought this, a bloody glint reappeared in the Gnome’s eyes. It began to enhance the Blood Pool with even greater fervor. This Blood Pool was one of the methods it was trying to use to strengthen itself.

Over the past two years, as it gradually adapted to its own power, it had begun trying to enhance its strength. Yet, whether it tried to gather Believers and collect the Power of Faith like other Deities or perform blood sacrifice rituals, it had gained nothing. Aside from becoming more adept at using its power, there had been no other changes.

This was, naturally, not the outcome the Gnome wanted. The Blood Pool was its latest attempt. ’If I can’t improve the quality, I’ll just try to increase the quantity!’

’Yes, a Deity with a nearly infinite supply of Divine Power was researching how to increase the quantity of its Divine Power...’

’A very creative idea, I must say.’

’Almost there. The Blood Pool’s enhancement will be finished soon. Then, I’ll be able to...’

The Gnome’s gaze suddenly went vacant for a moment, but then it refocused with determination.

’Once the enhancement of this Blood Pool is complete, I can continue enhancing new Blood Pools!’

Wholly absorbed in enhancing the Blood Pool, the Gnome failed to notice that, silently, its thoughts had shifted. Its initial goal of controlling its own destiny and using the Blood Pool to fight the Mysterious Gray Robe Wizard had gradually devolved into simply building Blood Pools...

Even the strange tremor in its Divinity moments ago was forgotten within a few breaths. 𝑓𝑟ℯℴ𝓂

Above the Blood Pool, sensing the shift in the Gnome’s thoughts, the corners of Isaac’s mouth turned up slightly. This was, needless to say, his doing.

No, to be precise, it was only *partly* his doing.

As mentioned before, although a Deity’s Followers gain immense power and a long lifespan, their will gradually aligns with the Deity’s over time. This is the Divinity within the Divinity influencing them.

And this Divinity affects the Deities themselves as well. However, normal Deities—whether they are True Gods or Outer Gods—who achieved their status through their own Cultivation can typically reduce or even ignore the influence of this Divinity.

But Isaac’s Virtual Deities are different. They achieved godhood in a single step, directly obtaining immense power!

Initially, this immense power would cause the desires in their hearts to grow wild. Isaac later optimized that aspect, but there was one thing he couldn’t solve: soul strength!

No matter how Isaac optimized the ritual for Becoming a God, he couldn’t strengthen their souls to the point of ignoring the Divinity. Their foundations were simply too weak!

In other words, even with the optimized Virtual Divinity, as time passes, the [Divinity] of the Virtual Divinity will sooner or later completely dominate their [Human Nature]!

And this was the very problem the Gnome now faced. After all, it was using Isaac’s unoptimized version, which had little resistance to burgeoning desires, let alone to the [Divinity].

However, despite failing to resist the Divinity’s domination, the Gnome was in a much better state than the Stone Dwarf, who was supposedly skilled in the ways of the mind. That one was now almost completely dominated by its new identity as the Sovereign of Evil Thoughts.

But for that very reason, its value had increased—it would allow Isaac to experiment with his New Spell, Miracle Domination!

Miracle Domination was a spell that all Tier Four Miracle Mages had to research. Yes, *research*, not learn.

Because every Wizard’s Miracle is fundamentally different, the spell naturally has no single, unified blueprint.

Consequently, the effect of each Miracle Mage’s Miracle Domination was different. The effect of Isaac’s was simple: it allowed him to dominate the Divinity within the Virtual Divinity. In other words—to dominate the Deity itself!

As long as the [Divinity] within the Virtual Divinity completely replaced the Virtual Deity’s [Human Nature], then Isaac could, by relying on his high degree of control over his own Miracle Creation, attempt to dominate the Virtual Deity!

This spell was absolutely crucial!

Isaac’s current Miracle, Miracle·Divine Sealing, had a major drawback—he couldn’t dominate the Virtual Deities he created.

It was just like the saying: "The vassal of my vassal is not my vassal."

Isaac could only dominate the Virtual Divinity itself. Thus, he could arbitrarily revoke a Virtual Deity’s power or grant himself Immunity to it. But since the Virtual Deity’s power came from the Virtual Divinity, the Deities themselves were not subject to Isaac’s control!

Candidates Isaac had carefully selected, like Mephisto, were fine. They would obey Isaac’s commands, but only out of gratitude and a desire to repay his favor. It wasn’t because they were dominated by him.

But the likes of the Gnome and the Stone Dwarf were constantly scheming to overthrow Isaac and claim the Upper Position for themselves!

This was clearly a major hidden risk. And so, Miracle Domination was created to address it.

If the [Divinity] replaced the [Human Nature], then Isaac could perhaps leverage his high degree of control over the Virtual Divinity to gain control over the Virtual Deity!

Isaac had already completed the theoretical research. Now, all that was left was the experiment.

And so, under Isaac’s watchful gaze, the Gnome beneath the Blood Pool was slowly becoming—the Master of Blood!
