Chapter 366: Chapter 269: Advancement to Tier 4

"Just leave it here. Never mind it." Isaac glanced at the Star God’s corpse one last time, then beckoned with his right hand. A dark rift appeared behind them. "Let’s go, back we go. This place... is about to get dangerous."

Caesar was surprised by Isaac’s decisiveness. He’d thought...

’He thought Isaac would get greedy...’

’It seems Isaac has really grown these past few years...’

At this thought, a gratified expression appeared on Caesar’s face. To be honest, he had always been against Isaac walking the Path of the Mad Witch, because a gambler’s luck never lasts.

Even though Isaac had enjoyed nothing but smooth sailing so far, Caesar still worried that he would one day have a disastrous crash.

’Thankfully, Isaac has finally seen the error of his ways!’

Unaware of Isaac’s true intentions, Caesar held on to this joy as he entered the Dimension World with him, leaving the Star Sea behind. Just moments after they departed, several mighty forces descended from the heavens, opening a new battlefield to fight over...

Ownership of the Divine Corpse!

But none of that had anything to do with Isaac. After returning to his domain and parting ways with Caesar, he felt a great weight lift from his shoulders, his vengeance finally achieved. He returned to his old routine: moving his home, completing missions for the Sect, climbing the contribution rankings, and grinding for the Floating City!

The Floating City would become Isaac’s trump card after he advanced to Tier Four!

Beyond that, Isaac was busy researching a brand-new ritual for trading with Outer Gods—in other words, a new Path of the Mad Witch!

These days, simply plundering Outer Gods could no longer satisfy his needs. To put it another way, that level of power no longer provided the significant boosts it once did. At best, it would merely add to his foundational knowledge, perhaps aiding some future research or sparking a moment of inspiration.

Therefore, Isaac needed to up the ante with the Outer Gods.

However, this was no easy task. He didn’t even have a clear idea of how to begin...

Fortunately, he had plenty on his plate, so there was no rush. He could take his time.

...

「Three years passed in the blink of an eye.」

During these three years, Isaac fully embraced the art of laying low. He remained in his Mage Tower at virtually all times, never once stepping outside except to move it. He earned his contribution points for the Sect entirely by grinding, deciphering the techniques of Mad Witches and producing Magic Materials.

Of course, the primary source of his contribution points was deciphering the techniques of Mad Witches. As for producing materials... Let’s put it this way: Wizards represent not only high combat strength but also powerful production capabilities. When everyone has strong production, it’s as if you have none at all. Why toil away farming resources when you can farm contribution points with your fellow Mad Witches? It’s much faster.

That’s right, farming contribution points.

What began as a genuine battle of offense and defense instantly changed when Mad Witches from both sides entered the fray. The Mechanical God Sect and the Flesh Sect both simultaneously increased the contribution points awarded for these activities.

And so...

What happened next goes without saying...

The Mad Witches from both sides engaged in a back-and-forth, constantly deconstructing and countering each other’s techniques—or rather, "feeding" each other moves. They exchanged technical knowledge from a distance while earning heaps of contribution points. And among them all, Isaac was far and away the leader!

This was because, compared to the caution other Mad Witches exercised when dismantling techniques, Isaac’s method was exceptionally simple and brutal. One might even call it—insane!

Isaac’s method for breaking the techniques of other Mad Witches was quite simple: identify the Outer God used in their opponent’s technique, then trade directly with that Outer God to get the counter from It. Only Isaac would dare to use such a simple and brutal method.

And in the process, Isaac’s reputation as a Mad Witch began to spread.

That’s right. Among the Mad Witches, Isaac was also known as... a Mad Witch!

The Mad Witch among Mad Witches!

Of course, along with his insane reputation came the long-awaited blueprints for the Floating City!

The Floating City: the ultimate weapon of a modern-day Wizard!

The reason for the "modern-day" qualifier is that, compared to Floating Cities, Wizards actually possess many more unbelievably powerful weapons. However, the vast majority of them conflict with the rules of the physical world, like the Dimension World.

The greatest advantage of a Floating City is its unrestricted use in the physical world. Even the Little Worlds created by Travelers—Wizards who specialize in their creation—are not as convenient to use in the physical world.

This is because a Little World, unlike a Dimension World, lacks direct, tangible power. Little Worlds generally serve as logistical bases. In battle, their greatest function is to supply a Caster with a near-infinite supply of Magic Power. Beyond that, the only other thing you can do with one is drop it on someone.

But as for dropping it on someone...

Generally, no Wizard would do so. For one thing, the damage to the Little World would be immense; a single misstep could destroy it completely. For another, it’s an incredibly inefficient method of combat. A Wizard who possesses a Little World has countless other ways to achieve the same result without risking its destruction.

However, as powerful as a Floating City is, its operational requirements are quite steep. In addition to the immense difficulty and cost of construction, it requires a Tier Four Mage as the primary pilot and several High-level Mages for auxiliary control.

Note: High-level *Mages*, not High-level *Casters*!

In other words, although Lorna was already a Tier Three Witch, she didn’t qualify. He would have to cultivate new High-level Mages.

Fortunately, the Wizard Organization he had established was for Legendary Mages. With enough resources, a Legendary Mage’s advancement speed was slightly faster than an Arcanist’s. After all, compared to Arcanists, Legendary Mages below Tier Three emphasized practical application far more than theory. A small theoretical gap wasn’t a major issue.

Besides, Isaac still had the Privilege Magic he’d created to train Lorna, which was designed specifically for learning theoretical knowledge. As long as a few talented Wizards appeared among his subordinates, he was confident he could fast-track them to Tier Three.

Of course, this method of fast-tracking to Tier Three was different from creating a Dimension Apostle; Isaac wouldn’t have absolute control over them. Therefore, he would also need to test their loyalty. Conveniently, while he had finally ground out the blueprints for the Floating City, the actual construction was still a long way off.

For one, the blueprints still needed further optimization to be tailored to his own specifications. For another, the materials required to build a Floating City were so vast that everything he currently possessed was but a drop in the ocean.

Thus, over the past three years, besides grinding for the Floating City blueprints, Isaac had focused on three main tasks. The first was suspending his research into stealing the Divine Power of the God of Credit. The reason was simple: walls have ears, and word of his research had been leaked.

Under pressure from the True God of Credit and the Arcane Association, the Flesh Sect ordered Isaac to halt the project. They also made him sign a contract forbidding him from restarting the experiment in any form.

The second was to begin planning the arrangement of his Miracle—in other words, his advancement to Tier Four!
