Chapter 360: Chapter 263: Gallard’s Warning

Above the azure sea, an Angel with pure white wings was carving up the floating corpse of a Star Beast with a bizarre, black longsword. Wherever the blade passed, flesh and blood dissolved into strange black wisps that coiled around the sword, making it look even more sinister.

When Lorna arrived on her Flying Winged Fire Dragon, this was the bizarre scene that greeted her: a supposedly holy Angel engaged in such a sinister and strange act!

The sword in its hand, whether by the aura it emanated or the way it was dissolving and devouring the Star Beast’s corpse, was clearly nothing good.

Yet, despite witnessing such a bizarre scene, Lorna’s expression was rather placid. Beyond a faint hint of joy, no other emotion could be seen on her face.

It was because...

A holy Angel wielding the Power of Darkness was nothing new in this world. After all, a long, long time ago, a King of Angels had fallen completely into darkness, transforming from a lofty, holy Angel into the King of Fallen Angels—one of the most powerful Evil Gods!

Ever since then, it was no longer surprising to see an Angel wielding the Power of Darkness, as countless Wizards had tried to replicate that King of Angels’ Miracle. To go from a King of Angels who, while powerful, was by no means among the strongest, to the King of Fallen Angels, who ranked among the very strongest—the leap was immense!

Unfortunately, although many Fallen Angels had been created, none managed to replicate the original’s great achievement. Far from a great leap in power, the strength of many Fallen Angels not only failed to increase but actually decreased significantly.

But even so, in the Wizarding World, there were still many Wizards who were keen on corrupting Angels!

Mad Witches were especially fond of it!

Of course, the reason Lorna wasn’t surprised was that she had seen far more twisted and bizarre things happen around Isaac. A mere Fallen Angel...

...was nothing by comparison.

So where did Lorna’s smile come from?

Naturally, it was from...

"Tsk, tsk. To think it’s his Servant Demon. He’s pretty confident, isn’t he?" Just as the Flying Winged Fire Dragon reached its destination, before the Angel could even become alert, Isaac’s figure materialized from thin air behind Lorna. He appeared slowly, watching the Angel with the dark longsword in delight.

"Why are you out here?" Lorna turned and looked at Isaac curiously. "Done hiding?"

"No need. This Angel is his Servant Demon. If we kill it, we can use the corpse to lock onto his location directly."

"You can do that?" Lorna looked at Isaac, stunned. "Is it that simple?"

"..." Isaac looked at Lorna, momentarily at a loss for words.

Of course, it wasn’t that simple. While a connection exists between a Wizard and their Servant Demon, it’s usually one-way. The two-way kind is for a Magic Pet, which, like Isaac’s Divine Hand, has a completely different status. Therefore, it’s not easy to lock onto an enemy’s position using just a Servant Demon.

Otherwise, Wizards would have abandoned the use of Servant Demons long ago.

But again, "not easy" just means it’s still possible.

And Isaac, who had acquired a massive amount of Forbidden Knowledge from Outer Gods and learned a sea of knowledge through his Golden Finger and Authority, just so happened to know several spells that could reverse-track a Wizard’s location through their Servant Demon!

In fact, to guarantee its effectiveness, he had even developed a special spell precisely for this kind of situation!

But there was no need to explain these details to Lorna; she most likely wouldn’t understand them anyway.

Of course, while she might not understand the principles of the magic, she could understand Isaac’s words. And she wasn’t the only one; the Angel understood them too. In fact, it understood even more!

Although Isaac appeared to be just an Ordinary Wizard in its perception, the Angel knew this was merely an illusion. An Ordinary Wizard might be confident enough to say such words—after all, the world wasn’t short on arrogant fools.

But...

An Ordinary Wizard could never materialize so nonchalantly from thin air without it detecting the slightest anomaly!

This could only mean one thing—the gap in power between them was as wide as a chasm!

And obviously, no matter how it looked at the situation, it was not the stronger party.

So, without a shred of hesitation, the Angel’s pure white wings beat once as it prepared to flee!

As a Servant Demon, it shouldn’t have been so cowardly. Even when facing a powerful enemy, its duty was to sacrifice its life to provide its master with even the most trivial piece of intelligence.

It was a cruel reality, but that was the mission of a Servant Demon. Not all Servant Demons were as cherished as Isaac’s; most were just consumables.

Especially the Servant Demons of Mad Witches.

So, normally, it should have been charging at Isaac to fight to the death, using the connection between a Wizard and their Servant Demon to transmit intelligence back just before it died.

But the problem was that this situation was not normal. That Wizard seemed to be targeting its master, and what’s more, he could apparently use its corpse to lock onto the master’s location!

That was terrifying. It wasn’t sure if Isaac truly had such an ability, but it knew it couldn’t afford to gamble!

That was why it didn’t hesitate for a second, preparing to bolt immediately!

But...

The moment the thought formed, it was shocked to find that its body was completely frozen...

The gap between it and Isaac was even greater than it had imagined!

In the next moment, its consciousness ceased as well...

"Done. And now... huh? The one on Big Bro’s end is a Servant Demon, too?" Just as Isaac was about to cast his magic to finish off the Angel and turn it into material for tracking Gallard, he was surprised to discover—through his two High-Dimensional Apostles—that the target on his big brother’s end was also one of Gallard’s Servant Demons...

Seeing this, Isaac paused. With a thought, a pitch-black rift appeared. He picked up the Angel and stepped inside with Lorna.

Although he was confident he could lock onto Gallard with a single Servant Demon, this matter was too important. If possible, he didn’t want any mishaps. Two Servant Demons would be a safer bet.

By the time Isaac and Lorna passed through the Dimension World and arrived at Caesar’s location, he had already ended the fight. Like Isaac, upon discovering the Demon was Gallard’s Servant Demon, he hadn’t held back, killing it with a single slash of his sword!

Like Isaac, Caesar could also use a Servant Demon to lock onto the location of the Prank Master Gallard. Of course, unlike Isaac, he could only do so by using an Existence with a deep connection to Gallard, such as a Servant Demon; he had no other methods.

It just went to show that even for one blessed by a god, he was still a brute, unlike Wizards who relied on their wits.

Meanwhile, elsewhere...

Gallard, who was in the middle of reviving a Star God, felt his heart clench. He felt a sharp, squeezing pain in his chest, a sensation he hadn’t experienced in a long, long time!

A shadow fell over Gallard’s heart. Something had gone wrong...

"What’s wrong?" A Grey-robed Mage beside Gallard noticed his odd reaction, raising an eyebrow in curiosity.
