Wizard: Scamming a Demon God
Chapter 342 - 248: Grab and Go
Chapter 342: Chapter 248: Grab and Go
The sphere Isaac produced was the Infinite Demon God Armor, which he had stolen from Princess Philo. It was one of the legendary Ten Great Demon Gods Demonic Puppets and possessed the ability of nearly Infinite Evolution!
Donning this magic armor-type Demonic Puppet would grant one power on par with a Demon God!
Of course, that was a thing of the past. The current Infinite Demon God Armor had long since been wrecked. Forget its former might that rivaled a Demon God; it had even lost its most fundamental core ability, Infinite Evolution.
Perhaps this was also why Philo, who was only an Official Wizard at the time, was able to possess it.
And so, despite the item’s immense fame, Isaac had never used it after obtaining it. This was simply because it was too severely damaged, and as for repairing it...
’To be honest, Isaac didn’t have the ability to do so...’
Back then, he had wanted this thing mainly for two reasons. First, to spite Philo, and second, because he thought that with the Infinite Demon God Armor’s ability of Infinite Evolution, it could slowly evolve back to its original state, no matter how damaged it was.
’As it turned out...’
’Who the hell knew it would be so damn damaged!’
So, despite having it for so long, Isaac had barely used the thing. For an Official Wizard, it might have been a powerful asset, but because Isaac’s own power grew too quickly and the difficulty of repairing it was too high, he could only let it sit and collect dust.
The thought of having an Outer God repair it wasn’t out of the question, but he had never found the right opportunity. After all, the Outer Gods had far too many good things to offer. Compared to an external object like the Demonic Puppet Armor, he was more inclined to focus on improving himself.
It was only because this trade was a spur-of-the-moment decision that he remembered he had this piece of junk in need of repair, so he took it out.
Of course, in his trades with Outer Gods, the transaction itself was never what Isaac truly looked forward to. Thus, he wasn’t particularly concerned about whether the Infinite Demon God Armor could be repaired. What he anticipated more were the unwanted things left behind in the Mysterious Void.
"...This?" The Outer God’s tone suddenly became much more cautious as He looked at the somewhat familiar sphere in Isaac’s hand. However, Isaac didn’t notice any of this. As soon as the trading ritual officially began, he had already shifted most of his attention to the Mysterious Void.
"No problem!" Although His tone was a bit hesitant, the Outer God ultimately agreed to the request. He didn’t have the ability to restore it completely, but the conditions of the ritual never specified a full restoration.
Of course, more importantly, He *had* to repair it. That Demigod Emperor was currently at the height of his power and had a terrible temper. At any other time, it might be different, but right now, that person might actually come and kill Him in His own home.
Although He didn’t know this fellow’s true identity, it didn’t take a genius to figure out that even if this wasn’t the Eldest Princess, anyone who could take this from her and remain unharmed must have a deep connection with her.
’So it’s better to just do the work obediently.’
’But...’
He hadn’t even started the work when He suddenly sensed His own power inexplicably draining away. He was stunned for a moment, then immediately realized the identity of the bastard before Him!
Recently, a rumor had been circulating in the Endless Void where the Outer Gods resided—it spoke of the emergence of a Mad Witch with an old-fashioned style, one who particularly enjoyed stealing the power of Outer Gods.
Until just a moment ago, He had scoffed at it.
In this day and age, the path of the Legendary Mage had developed considerable depth. Furthermore, their living conditions had improved greatly under the influence of the Great Wizards, so they no longer needed to pursue power as madly as the Mad Witches of old.
Of course, even if there were a few rare cases with tragic backgrounds, or those who simply enjoyed the thrill, they had no need to walk this most insane path. They could just engage in simple trades and become a relatively ordinary Mad Witch.
After all, if it was just a simple trade, even though the risks were still high, the protection of the Gate of Legends made the success rate vastly higher.
But now, a living example was right in front of Him!
’That bastard!’
’He’s stealing my power right now!’
It had been a long time since the Deep Sea Corrosion, Unor Illvan, had felt this sensation!
’This detestable feeling!’
"Bastard!"
Unor Illvan roared in fury. He begrudgingly siphoned off energy to repair the Infinite Demon God Armor for Isaac while simultaneously pouring another portion of his energy into the Mysterious Void to struggle against him, trying to counterattack the bastard while preserving as much of his power as possible!
’Yes, *trying* to preserve it.’
Although they hadn’t truly clashed yet, He had no confidence in the outcome.
For one, the fact that this guy’s reputation had reached His ears in such a short time, and that he was still alive, meant he definitely had some skill. For another...
"This guy’s offerings were simply too much!"
The very thing that had made Him so excited before had now become the decisive factor that would settle this just-begun struggle in one fell swoop!
...
"Bastard! I’ll *********! ********! ***!"
In the Mysterious Void, Isaac glanced up at the massive and malevolent phantom of the Deep Sea Corrosion. Faced with Its profanity-laden tirade, he remained as calm as ever, offering a faint smile as he silently quickened his pace of collection.
BOOM!
Seeing this, the Deep Sea Corrosion flew into a rage. Terrifying Divine Power erupted from its body, causing the entire Mysterious Void to tremble. It was an utterly horrifying sight!
Fat lot of good that did.
This Mysterious Void was, in essence, an incarnation of the Deep Sea Corrosion’s power, so His every move had a massive impact on it. However, this impact could not be brought to bear within the Mad Witch trading ritual.
Under the influence of the Gate of Legends, the power He could use to stop or even kill Isaac was extremely limited—at least, extremely limited compared to His own true might.
Isaac, on the other hand, was practically cheating and could wield even more power, creating this unbelievable situation where he was completely overpowering the Outer God!
So, while the commotion the Deep Sea Corrosion kicked up in its fury seemed immense, it was actually completely useless. It didn’t even affect Isaac’s collection speed in the slightest.
And so, amidst the Deep Sea Corrosion’s impotent rage, the ritual gradually neared its end.
Of course, by "end," it only meant that the fault tolerance rate displayed by the Golden Finger was approaching the five-hundred-percent safety line. The ritual itself was still ongoing. For one, a lot of power from the offerings remained, and for another, He had not yet fulfilled the most basic condition of the trade.
Nor was it possible for Him to complete it.
One had to understand that a complete Infinite Demon God Armor possessed might comparable to a Demon God!
Let alone the fact that He might not even have the ability to repair it, even if He could, He’d have to be out of His mind to actually do it for Isaac.
However, the rules of the ritual were absolute. Not repairing it at all wasn’t an option, so the Infinite Demon God Armor did change a little.
Of course, the change wasn’t significant. At the very least, there was still no sign of its core ability, Infinite Evolution.
It was merely a slight improvement to its overall Ability Value. In the Deep Sea Corrosion’s estimation, He only needed to repair it to the level of Tier Three to complete the trade.
’At that point, I’ll be able to free up some power to show this little thief what it means to be a God!’
’The majesty of a God is not to be trifled with!’
However, just as He was meticulously plotting to strike Isaac with a vicious blow, He suddenly discovered that the little thief had actually retreated...
He actually left when at least half the power of the ritual still remained!
’Is this guy, who doesn’t even dare to take a gamble, really a Mad Witch?’
