Chapter 329: Chapter 239: Guidance from a Kindly Elder—Fall in Love, Kid! (Part 2)

Be that as it may, Isaac still obediently opened the Magic Book. ’It’s just as I thought—a powerhouse of this caliber has no need to scheme against me. The gap in our power is simply too vast.’

Even if they did want to scheme, Isaac lacked the power to even notice, much less resist.

So, he obediently opened the Magic Book. Isaac first chose the blood-red one, which looked extremely ominous. His intuition told him this might be some kind of exceptionally powerful Magic!

After all, Innis’s specialty was Flesh Deformation Spells, a fact hinted at by the Blood and Bone God he kept in his domain.

And with its blood-red cover, the theme of this Magic Book was unmistakable.

This Magic Book did not disappoint. The moment Isaac opened the cover, the large words that greeted him made his eyes light up—Record of Dimensional Life Creation.

’It’s actually Magic related to Dimensions!’

This was immensely helpful for Isaac. He possessed a fairly well-developed Dimension World, but he was facing a dilemma: he had no effective means of wielding its power.

Techniques like his Secret Skills were completely at odds with the status of a Master of Dimensions; they were merely a crude application of its power.

Isaac had tried to solve this problem before. Unfortunately, the subject of Dimensions was simply too advanced. So advanced, in fact, that even after his promotion to High-level Mage, he had been unable to acquire the relevant Knowledge from either the Flesh Sect or the Truth Association.

’As for researching it myself...’

’With my current abilities, it would require immense effort, and the results wouldn’t necessarily be satisfying. It’s not worth it.’

Of course, the most important thing was that Isaac could grow his Dimension by plundering Dimensional Demon Gods. ’If I can’t rely on technique, I’ll just rely on raw stats.’ As long as his Dimension World was powerful enough, even the most superficial Secret Skills could unleash impressive might.

For example, Isaac’s Magic Cannon series of Secret Skills.

But that didn’t mean he no longer needed it.

Seeing the delighted surprise on Isaac’s face, the smile on Innis’s own face deepened. It proved his judgment was as sharp as ever; he had chosen the perfect gift.

"Take a look at the other one." Seeing Isaac skim through a few pages of the Record of Dimensional Life Creation, Innis smiled and pointed to the other pink Magic Book floating in the air. ’Since that one was a good fit, this one probably isn’t a bad choice either.’

Isaac put away the blood-red Magic Book, then, filled with intense curiosity, he opened the other one—a strangely pink Magic Book.

SNAP!

He had only just opened the first page before he instantly snapped the book shut, his eyes wide as he stared at Innis, who wore a knowing, teasing smile.

"This... There are spells like this?" Isaac’s brow furrowed. He was completely baffled as he looked at the beaming Innis.

It was because the spells recorded in this pink Magic Book were... less than savory...

Unlike the first one, this pink Magic Book wasn’t a research record of a single type of Magic. It was a collection of various spells, and, to put it simply, most of them were magical versions of... aphrodisiacs.

Of course, Isaac wasn’t surprised by the existence of such spells. After all, where there was demand, there was supply, so it was inevitable. He even knew a few himself, since they were useful for breeding Demons. But...

This was the first time he had ever seen any that were this high-level!

"Hahaha!" Seeing the astonishment on Isaac’s face, Innis burst out laughing. ’Just as I thought. Isaac is a very traditional Wizard, with nothing but magical research on his mind. At least, for now.’

"Why shouldn’t there be? Since when is Knowledge divided into high and low, noble and base?" Innis retorted.

Hearing this, Isaac froze for a moment before nodding thoughtfully. He got it now. ’It’s true, there’s nothing strange about this. After all, there are Deities of love and lust, so it’s only natural for magical versions to exist. It’s just...’

"This... is it useful for me?" Isaac asked, confused.

After glancing at the Record of Dimensional Life Creation, although Isaac didn’t know Innis’s motive for giving him these gifts, he was sure of at least one thing: Innis believed they would be useful to him.

And the Record of Dimensional Life Creation had already proven that.

’So what about this one?’

"And to think you’ve written two fairy tales about love." Innis shook his head in exasperation at the baffled Isaac. His tone was one of disappointment, as if scolding a protégé for failing to meet expectations. "Don’t you know that love is a bond far deeper than friendship?"

Isaac paused, then gave the pink Magic Book in his hands a strange look. "Using this stuff..." he said hesitantly, "can you really call the result love?"

’What this stuff usually creates is lust, not love...’

"I’m not telling you to use everything in there. Just work in that general direction. Don’t you have the[True Love]Authority? You can try to make use of it. But you must remember: a Wizard is always rational. Knowledge and emotions alike are nothing more than chips in our hands. A gambler can never let himself be controlled by his chips."

Isaac’s expression turned solemn. He nodded gravely. "Yes. I will remember that!"

With that, he put the pink Magic Book away. ’Indeed, this is a viable approach. As long as it doesn’t turn into a yandere situation, love really is a deeper, more reliable bond than friendship!’

’Worth a try!’

’Besides, it doesn’t necessarily have to be *me* falling in love with that Deity. This is a two-person experiment, and Evans is still there, isn’t he?’

In any case, Isaac didn’t care much about the outcome of the experiment. He was only interested in the process.

After he put the Magic Books away, a Teleportation Gate materialized behind him. From the aura emanating from the other side, Isaac could tell it led to the Sect Dimension. However, he didn’t leave immediately. Instead, he looked at the benevolent-faced Innis, the words caught in his throat.

After their brief exchange, Isaac was fairly certain that Innis held no ill intent—at least, none that he could perceive.

’But... are there really such selflessly devoted people in this world?’

Isaac believed they surely existed, but judging others by his own standards, he didn’t believe such a person would ever appear before him. Nor did he think someone like that could become such a powerful Wizard!

"Heh heh. You’re wondering why I’m being so good to you, aren’t you?"

Isaac nodded cautiously.

"I told you, there’s no need to be so tense. It’s not some unspeakable secret. Many people know about it, and I’ve helped many Wizards—both inside and outside the Sect. The only difference is the extent of the help. As for why I help you, it’s very simple. You know of the title Great Wizard, don’t you?"

Isaac nodded pensively. If that was the case, he thought he was beginning to understand Innis’s motives.

Great Wizard, much like Demigod, was not a realm of power but a title. The requirements for obtaining them were simply different. One could only be called a Demigod by possessing combat strength on par with a Deity, whereas the title of Great Wizard required making a tremendous contribution to the Real World.

This contribution could be the creation of new rules, the modification of existing ones, or even something simpler.

For example, nurturing talent!

"It seems you understand." Innis nodded in satisfaction at the pensive Isaac. "That’s right. It’s just as you think. Nurturing more Wizard geniuses is one of my experiments in pursuit of the Great Wizard title. So, you don’t need to feel any burden. Continue to grow and develop. That will be the greatest reward you can give me."

"I understand. But... can one really become a Great Wizard this way?" Isaac was a little puzzled. Compared to the achievements of the other two he knew of, this seemed to fall far short.

"I may not succeed, but the path itself is viable. The Truth Mage—the creator of the Arcanists—became a Great Wizard through this very method, and subsequently stepped into the realm of the [Mysterious]." As he spoke, a look of yearning filled Innis’s eyes.

"..." Isaac’s expression was complicated. For a moment, he was at a loss for words.

After a moment of silence, Isaac gave Innis a deep bow, then turned and walked through the Teleportation Gate, leaving the Flesh Courtyard.

’This trip was more than worth it.’ Neither the two Magic Books nor the Knowledge of the Great Wizard’s Path were things he could have obtained at his current level.
