Chapter 327: Chapter 238: An Unprecedented Big Shot! Golden Finger Exposed? (Part 2)
That’s right, his research was stuck again...
After developing the Divine Birth Ceremony, Isaac understood that if he wanted to continue perfecting it, relying solely on the analysis data from a single deity’s corpse wouldn’t be enough. At least, not to the extent he desired.
The sample was simply too limited!
Isaac’s goal was to create a new deity, not resurrect the one he had studied, so he needed more data on deities.
And that was something the Sect certainly had.
After all, from what Isaac knew, the Light Sect alone had killed more than one deity...
There were several God Creation experimental plans as well. There was so much he could potentially obtain.
Besides, if Isaac wanted to write the Divine Birth Ceremony into his Self-Legend, he couldn’t afford to hoard it. Some things were destined to be shared.
Besides, the Divine Birth Ceremony was still in its most preliminary version. While his current store of knowledge was insufficient to optimize it, that didn’t mean he would never be able to. Therefore, he had even fewer reservations about sharing something incomplete.
CRACKLE~
Inside the Sect Dimension, Isaac stood before a large, glowing orb—the Tower Spirit. He watched it emit strange static and tilted his head. ’Isn’t this supposed to be the latest model? Possessing not only immense computational power but also wisdom approaching that of a Grand Wizard?’
’Why does it seem so...’
’...dull?’
"Is it not ready yet?" Isaac asked the Tower Spirit, his brow furrowed slightly.
Even in an ancient organization like the Flesh Sect, a High-level Mage was an invaluable asset, and thus held a very high status, especially where matters of knowledge were concerned.
For instance, when it came to contributing research materials to the Sect, no third party was involved besides the Tower Spirit and a strictly selected special review board. Even the head of the Sect had to pay a price to view such materials.
Fortunately, the Tower Spirit’s computational power was immense. Most of the time, it could handle the entire process of value assessment, contribution settlement, and archiving on its own. In many cases, the special review board was merely a formality.
However, today, as the Wizards of the special review board were leisurely sipping red tea in their respective Mage Towers, their long-dormant Magic Books suddenly sprang to life. Pages flipped automatically, displaying the details of a ritual before them.
’Huh? We’ve got a live one? Another newcomer? The new blood in the Sect has been impressive lately. I just finished processing that three-in-one Power of Faith project, and now there’s another... Let’s see... Hm? Divine Birth Ceremony? This is... God Creation. No wonder it was sent to me... Wait! God Creation?! From a newcomer?!’
PFFT!!!
In an ordinary-looking courtyard, an old, white-haired Wizard sprayed a mouthful of red tea, staring dumbfoundedly at the Magic Book before him. He remained stunned for a long while.
’What the hell... This is a newcomer?!’
’What the hell? A newcomer? God Creation? Did that old coot Donis secretly slaughter another deity? How could the Sect have such an absurd newcomer?’
’God Creation? A newcomer? Since when were the Sect’s newcomers this ridiculous?’
At that moment, while Isaac was still frowning at the Tower Spirit’s lack of response, powerful Wizards from the special review board—ranging from Tier Four to Tier Six—were reeling in shock from his achievement in places he knew nothing about.
"Hm?"
Just as Isaac was about to press the Tower Spirit for a result, he froze. Demon Claw Harmon emerged from behind his head, unfurling its palm before him. Nine Magic Books materialized within it.
Six of them were shrouded in specks of starlight, resembling entire star systems—some beautiful, others sinister. These were the Magic Books from Isaac’s time as an Official Wizard and Grand Wizard. Their pages were filled, and they had all accumulated a certain amount of the Power of Faith.
However, Isaac’s attention wasn’t on those six. Instead, he focused on the other three, which had appeared after his promotion to High-level Mage. Two were filled with writing, while one was blank.
The filled books were his Self-Legend and his Fantasy Legend. Although the Fantasy Legend was also filled, it remained dull and lightless, just like the blank one. This was for two reasons: first, its story had only just begun to spread and had yet to gather much Power of Faith; second, Isaac was preparing to establish his Self-Legend first.
So even if it met the Power of Faith threshold, it wouldn’t show any reaction until the Self-Legend’s period of mana instability had passed.
But...
Isaac looked at his Self-Legend, which was faintly emitting a golden light, a flicker of confusion in his eyes. ’Normally, the Self-Legend shouldn’t be reacting either. The effects of the Divine Birth Ceremony have been confirmed in principle, but it’s never been officially used, nor has it been spread. How could it be reacting?’
’Could it be...’
Isaac glanced at the Tower Spirit, his brow furrowed. ’Could it be that the special review board, composed entirely of these powerful figures, has reviewed the Divine Birth Ceremony?’
’If the data really reached those masters, then this would make sense. After all, the more powerful a person is, the more weight their belief carries, and the more Power of Faith they can provide.’
"Honorable Wizard Isaac Solomon, Lord Innis wishes to invite you to the Blood Remains Courtyard. Do you accept?"
Just as Isaac was frowning in thought, the Tower Spirit, which had been crackling for some time, finally stopped glitching. It began to speak, its tone suddenly much more respectful.
"This..." Isaac looked surprised. This wasn’t his first time dealing with the Tower Spirit, but it was the first time he’d heard it speak like this. It had always been completely devoid of emotion before; supposedly, it was the same even when addressing Tier Four Miracle Mages.
’Did it... glitch out?’
Of course, Isaac quickly dismissed the thought with a small smile. As the Sect’s Tower Spirit, it couldn’t be that unreliable. It must be that the value of the Divine Birth Ceremony—or rather, his own value for creating it—had been judged to be much higher.
And Isaac had heard the name Innis. His full name was Sager, Star, Master of All Phenomena, Innis. An incredibly powerful Wizard, one of the founders of the Flesh Sect, and also the master of the Blood and Bone God!
The master of a Dimensional Demon God—a truly supreme being!
Isaac sucked in a sharp breath, his expression turning grave. This was a heavyweight even more formidable than the Emperor!
"I accept!" Isaac nodded firmly.
’It’s not like he could refuse, anyway. When a figure of that stature wants to see you, the act of asking is a show of respect. To actually refuse would be to throw that respect back in their face.’
Sure enough, the moment Isaac nodded, the scenery around him changed abruptly. He had been instantly transported from the Mage Tower into a courtyard!
Isaac surveyed the ordinary-looking courtyard, his expression grave. As a Master of Dimensions, even a relatively weak one, he still possessed a discerning eye. He had left the Sect Dimension and arrived in the Real World!
’Such speed... such subtlety...’
"Heh heh. Don’t be nervous. I was just curious to see what kind of genius could devise a plan for God Creation at Tier Three," said the old Wizard, Innis, with a chuckle. His hair and beard were white, and his chest was spattered with red tea. "Sit. Would you be willing to talk about how you developed it?"
He seemed perfectly kind and amiable.
But Isaac didn’t underestimate the old man for a second. ’The Flesh Sect wasn’t exactly a benevolent Wizard Organization in its early days, and this man is no simple character. A Wizard who can keep a Demon God in captivity... his methods can’t possibly be ordinary.’
Besides...
’Looking at the chair that had just materialized across from the old man... if I’m not mistaken, that thing seems to be made from the corpse of a deity!’
The corner of Isaac’s mouth twitched. He cautiously approached the chair and slowly sat down, already trying to figure out what to say. ’In front of a master like this, the most crucial question is: has my Golden Finger been exposed?’
’Probably... not, right?’
Isaac hesitated.
However, seeing Isaac’s hesitation, Innis simply smiled, dispelling his worries. "Just speak freely, don’t be so nervous. Say what you’re able to say. You don’t have to mention that peculiar talent of yours. After all, you Mad Witches of the Old Faction all have some strange talents, more or less. Just tell me about your understanding of the Divine Birth Ceremony and your plans for the future. Nowadays, there aren’t many Wizards left who dare to research God Creation."
Hearing this, Isaac’s heart, which had just tightened in his chest, relaxed slightly.
