Chapter 313: Chapter 231: The 3-Eyed Goblin’s Ambition

The Three-eyed Goblin had ambitions of his own!

He was not content with being a Dimension Apostle forever!

Otherwise, he wouldn’t have worked so hard on his research. He did it all in the hopes of one day earning the favor of the Master of Dimensions, Isaac, and being allowed to stay by his side forever!

Just like...

...that rat!

So, even though sacrificing the three-eyed human would grant him greater power, he wouldn’t do it.

The Three-eyed Goblin knew perfectly well that the Master of Dimensions hated such behavior. It didn’t matter that the Dimension Apostles wouldn’t die from it, nor that the Master himself ordered them around without any regard for their lives.

But for Dimension Apostles to kill each other without any scruples was a line the Master of Dimensions did not want crossed.

So, facing the onslaught of Demons outside the canyon, the Three-eyed Goblin remained silent. He simply channeled his Magic Power, overloading the Demon Eye on his brow. He continuously summoned goblins from all over the world. The instant they arrived, he would infuse them with vast amounts of Dimensional Magic Power and the Essence of Life absorbed from the towering tree, drastically increasing their strength at the cost of their lifespan.

This wasn’t the normal consumption of sixty seconds of life for every minute that passed. Instead, it was a direct overdraft of several years of life, exchanged for immense combat power at the cost of a lifespan lasting only ten-odd minutes!

The Saint Master’s eye twitched as he watched the goblins emerge from the spatial fluctuations. The moment they appeared, these scrawny creatures looked like a gust of wind could knock them over. But in an instant, as if being inflated like balloons, they swelled from under a meter tall into muscle-bound brutes over two meters high!

Their massive muscles bulged like tumors, and they radiated an aura of madness!

’Sometimes, even I have to admit, that Three-eyed Goblin is a real fucking talent,’ the Saint Master thought. ’He’s a natural at researching biological mutations. To think he can enhance Non-Rank goblins to the verge of Tier Two, and even push them all the way to Tier Two with the help of the Magic Wand: Silver Moon Vine!’

’That’s Tier Two we’re talking about!’

’A level that 99.99 percent of goblins could never reach in their lifetime!’

’This level of biological modification isn’t something just anyone can pull off. Even our master, Isaac, might not be able to do it, because goblins are just fundamentally too weak.’

’Most life modifications are based on overdrafting potential. But the prerequisite for overdrafting is... you need to have potential in the first place.’

’And what fucking potential do goblins have?!’

’Of course, the Three-eyed Goblin’s feat relies on the unique properties of Dimensional Magic Power. But the fact that he can leverage those properties at all speaks volumes.’

’As a professional thief who steals from Demon Gods, the Saint Master considered himself an expert on the subject.’

’Too bad the Three-eyed Goblin’s looks are...’

’...beyond words.’

’He’s already ugly, but the bizarre, evil, dark-green Demon Eye staring from his brow makes him even more hideous.’

’Otherwise, with his personality and talent for research, he might have actually earned a permanent spot by Isaac’s side. His status might even have been higher than mine.’

’A pity there are no "what ifs"~’

At that thought, the Saint Master couldn’t help but lift his head and let out a light hum.

’Good looks, now *that’s* for life~’

"ROAR!"

Just as the Saint Master was reveling in his own vanity, a roar suddenly echoed from nearby. The oppressive aura of a High-level Demon washed over them in an instant, and everyone’s attack faltered!

The Three-eyed Goblin instinctively looked up at the Saint Master. ’A High-level Demon. This is beyond what we Dimension Apostles can handle. It’s his turn to act.’

’He didn’t just come along to be a glorified stand for the Infinite Expansion Decree.’

The Saint Master understood this, of course. But right now, he was in a foul mood. How dare this mongrel, a creature without even a will of its own, ruin his good mood!

"ROAR!!!"

In response to the unknown High-level Demon’s roar, the Saint Master answered with one of his own. As he roared, he began to transform!

As he roared, the Saint Master’s already massive frame swelled even larger. The dark-gold scales covering his body multiplied and thickened. Simultaneously, dark-red magic patterns, like glowing cracks, spread across his skin!

Within these patterns, ferocious Magic Power churned like molten lava!

This was the power from the Purgatory Demon God!

In addition to his increased size, thicker scales, and the crack-like magic patterns, the Saint Master’s claws grew sharper, and menacingly sharp spikes jutted out from his elbows!

"BOOM!"

Once his transformation was complete, black Purgatory Flames erupted around the Saint Master. The cliff he stood on exploded, and he launched himself into the air!

"RUSTLE~~"

Nearby, the Three-eyed Goblin slowly emerged from a bundle of dark-brown, twisted roots. He glanced at the several roots that had been shattered by the falling rocks and the mass of the Goblin Tree’s roots now exposed by the destroyed cliff. His ugly face scrunched up in a frown.

’This barbarian...’

’He possesses the most potent Dimensional Magic Power in this world, yet he only uses it for such crude acts. It’s a disgrace to the Master of Dimensions’ efforts, and a waste of his exceptionally pure Giant Dragon Bloodline.’

’He could at least use it to fire a Magic Cannon.’

’If he did, this Three-eyed Goblin might even consider it a tribute to the Master of Dimensions.’

"Such a~ crude fellow~" The Three-eyed Goblin shook his head. With a wave of his Magic Wand, the exposed roots of the Goblin Tree writhed wildly and burrowed back into the earth.

Once the Goblin Tree was firmly rooted again, the Three-eyed Goblin nodded in satisfaction. He then resumed waving his Magic Wand, overloading the Demon Eye on his brow and combining the channeled, immense Dimensional Magic Power with the Essence of Life drawn from the Goblin Tree to ceaselessly produce Muscle Bully Goblins.

Although the Muscle Bully Goblins were far weaker than the Deceitful Wood Goblins, their advantage was that they didn’t consume the energy stored within the Magic Wand. As long as he had enough Essence of Life, he could create them almost infinitely.

They were the Three-eyed Goblin’s most suitable bioweapon for large-scale war.

Meanwhile, the Saint Master didn’t care about the cliff he had destroyed. He didn’t even care if the Three-eyed Goblin lived or died. Dimension Apostles were consumables, after all. Right now, he only cared about the bastard that had ruined his good mood!

"ROAR!"

Streaking through the air, the Saint Master locked eyes with the High-level Demon Wolf rampaging across the battlefield. His lips peeled back into a savage grin, revealing teeth that glinted coldly. Even before he reached it, he spat a massive, dark-red fireball at the High-level Demon Wolf!

The High-level Demon Wolf let out a questioning growl. Sensing the Saint Master’s powerful, rapidly approaching aura, its instincts detected the faint threat he posed, despite its mind being dominated by the Wilderness Will. It let out a roar, and a jet-black Magic Beam shot toward the Saint Master!

"BOOM!"

The jet-black Magic Beam collided with the massive dark-red fireball in midair. The fireball shattered instantly. Though significantly weakened, the Magic Beam had overpowered the Saint Master’s attack and continued straight for him!

Seeing this, however, the Saint Master’s grin only widened. He wasn’t bothered in the slightest that his fireball had lost to the Magic Beam.

’Because, just as I thought, the High-level Demon Wolf didn’t use its Authority!’

’Any creature, any Transcendent, will naturally awaken an Authority the moment they reach Tier Three. That’s the very reason why anything at Tier Three is given the "High-level" title.’

’So even a High-level Demon Wolf raised in the Wilderness, with intelligence far below that of a normal High-level Demon, would still awaken an Authority. Against any creature below Tier Three, that Authority would give it an overwhelming advantage.’

’So when a High-level fights a lower-tier being, they’d normally lead with their Authority. But this stupid wolf started with a simple magic breath attack.’

’This was exactly what they had predicted. While under the control of the Wilderness Will, these creatures can’t activate their own Authority.’

’In other words, the core mechanic of being a High-level Life form has been disabled. Now, it’s a competition of pure stats!’

’And as for stats...’

’Heh~’

’To put it bluntly, when it comes to stats alone, even among other High-level Creatures, I—with my Giant Dragon Bloodline, the power of a Purgatory Demon God, and the Evil God White Whale Talent—am in the absolute highest tier!’
