Taking the list from Caesar, Isaac glanced over it. His pupils contracted. ’So generous? What does this mean? A truce?’

The list was long, containing everything from Gold Coins and wheat to even slaves. It had all the resources a developing domain might need, and in considerable quantities. But these were all just bonuses. The only truly important items on the list were two things: the Boundless Breathing Method and the Boundless Furnace Technique!

The Boundless Breathing Method and the Boundless Furnace Technique—from the names alone, it was clear they were inextricably linked to the Boundless Authority that had been stolen from Caesar.

The Breathing Skill and the Furnace Skill were Cultivation Skills for Knights. While possessing these two couldn’t guarantee one would cultivate the Boundless Authority, it did drastically increase the odds.

Besides, even if one failed to obtain the Authority, these were high-quality Cultivation Skills. After practicing them, a Knight’s strength would far surpass that of their peers at the same Level.

After finishing the list, Isaac looked at Caesar. He said nothing, but his eyes said it all.

He wanted to ask Caesar if he had abandoned the plan.

This was undoubtedly a signal from the Empire. The Emperor was dying. Before the next Demigod emerged, the Empire would pull back on all fronts, doing everything possible to mitigate conflict.

Take the issue between the Empire and Solomon, for instance. First, they would try to de-escalate. If that failed, only then would they resort to arms. They intended to nip the crisis in the bud before the Emperor’s death.

So, in truth, Caesar had no choice. He first shook his head, then nodded, his expression grave.

Seeing this, Isaac’s expression showed he understood.

Caesar’s meaning was simple. Since the Empire had made its move, they had to play along and bury the hatchet for now. Solomon’s power was on a completely different level from the Empire’s; crushing them would be as easy as squashing an ant.

So, Caesar had no choice.

But the conflict between Solomon and the Empire was about more than just the "bone-digging." The incident had also indirectly led to their mother’s death. A grudge like that couldn’t be erased by a simple exchange of benefits.

So, this current compromise was merely an act of forbearance. A War between them and the Empire was inevitable.

Because Caesar had no choice.

Isaac didn’t say anything more. He just nodded and handed the list back.

From the moment he chose to become a Mad Witch, his path was destined to diverge from Caesar’s—in his future, and in his revenge.

Caesar understood this as well, so he didn’t press the issue. He just gave Isaac a long, deep look, sighed, and left after a simple, "Be safe."

After Caesar left, Isaac sat in his chair, staring at the Infinite Expansion Decree in his hand for a long time. After a moment, he put it away. ’Now isn’t the time to use this.’

His Anchor Points in the world had only just begun to stabilize; it wasn’t the right time to start dealing with the Outer Gods. According to his calculations, he would first need to at least complete a Self-Legend appropriate for the High-level Mage stage.

At the High-level Mage stage, a Self-Legend couldn’t just be about widespread renown like before. It needed tangible achievements—something that had, at minimum, a certain degree of impact on the world.

An achievement like the Ten Thousand Dragons Potion, for instance, which represented one of the ultimate pinnacles of a school of Magic.

On this front, Isaac was still hesitating over which path to choose for his Self-Legend.

Currently, he had three research projects that qualified to be woven into his Self-Legend. The first was God Creation—it didn’t need to be fully completed, just reaching a milestone would suffice. The second was stealing the Divine Power of the God of Credit; the unique nature of the Casting Technique known as ’Prerogative’ perfectly fit the requirements for a Self-Legend.

Of course, both of those goals were still distant, and it was impossible to know how long they would take to complete. Therefore, Isaac had another research project on hand, one that was, in fact, very close to completion: the Giant Dragon Bloodline Purification experiment.

This project would be easy to accomplish with the help of his High-level Curses.

But as for Giant Dragon Bloodline Purification...

Isaac wasn’t keen on using it. For one, its scope obviously couldn’t compare to the other two. A Pure-blooded Giant Dragon was still a tier below a Deity. For another, many people in the Sect were already researching this topic. While a Self-Legend didn’t possess the near-absolute exclusivity of a Deity’s Faith, there would still be some interference.

So, if possible, Isaac much preferred to use one of the first two options for his Self-Legend. ℴ

Thus, after briefly considering his next steps, Isaac turned and headed back to his Mage Tower. The delivery from the Truth Association had arrived.

This was one of the perks of Isaac’s promotion to High-level Mage: many of his purchases were now delivered immediately.

In the time it took to speak with Caesar, all two hundred Crystal Balls had arrived!

It was time to get to work.

As for the new domain...

That wasn’t something he needed to worry about right now. Caesar wouldn’t kick him out over it, and besides, he had no interest in managing a domain. If he were to move, he planned to do it all in one go—straight into a Floating City, to save the trouble of relocating multiple times.

Then again...

Hmm, a Floating City was still a bit of a challenge for Isaac. Beyond his insufficient technical expertise, his financial resources were also lacking. Moreover, as the greatest instrument of war in the Magic Realm, it couldn’t act with complete autonomy like a Mage Tower; it required a crew of Casters to operate.
