Wizard: Scamming a Demon God
Chapter 301 - 225: The Empire’s Mission (2)
Chapter 301: Chapter 225: The Empire’s Mission (2)
Of course, being infinitely close to Tier Three was not the same as being Tier Three. Therefore, Liu Li and the Saint Master still had to remain behind to guard the territory.
Isaac glanced at Smith, who had landed and was now standing silently behind him. Sensing the ever-burgeoning life force radiating from his subordinate, Isaac nodded with a smile before turning his gaze back to the Water Tornado descending from the sky.
The current of the Water Tornado was exceptionally fast. Before long, it had carved a massive pit into the ground. An endless stream of water poured down from the heavens, gathering rapidly to form a murky lake.
"Let’s go. Time to see the sights of the Endless Sea~" Isaac chuckled. As his Magic Power surged, a thin Magic Barrier enveloped both him and Smith. Then, the two of them plunged headfirst into the Water Tornado connecting heaven and earth, ascending with the current.
Feeling the chaotic and swift torrent of water, Isaac raised an eyebrow. ’A current of this intensity...’
’Looks like the entry threshold is quite high. It would be difficult for anyone below Tier Three to get in. Neither a Wizard nor a Knight could pass directly through this Water Tornado. But Tier Three is already a respectable combat force in the Real World. Sending Tier Three experts to explore the Endless Sea is obviously too extravagant.’
’So, Transcendents below Tier Three can only travel by ship.’
’Of course, even Tier Three experts would basically need a ship, because the other side is an ocean!’
’To be sure, Tier Three powerhouses are capable of sustained flight, but no matter how well they can fly, their strength will eventually run out. The power of a Tier Three alone isn’t enough to look down on the vast sea.’
’But not only is the Water Tornado’s current swift, it’s also extremely chaotic. This places high demands on the ships. The shipbuilding industry is about to experience a wave of rapid development.’
’What a pity. I learned this information too late. I have no standing to enter this market. Shipbuilding, especially for ships in the Magic World, is a highly skilled and capital-intensive enterprise.’
And so, Isaac could only sigh.
SPLASH!
Passing through the Water Tornado, Isaac and Smith emerged above a vast ocean. Gazing into the distance and looking down at the churning undercurrents of the sea below, Isaac narrowed his eyes. ’Is this the might of a Great Wizard?’
’It feels exactly like a real ocean. It’s truly unbelievable that such a world could be created by man...’
’However...’
Staring at the endless horizon, Isaac frowned. This place was even more vast than he had imagined. Furthermore, to return to the Real World, one had to find a Water Tornado here and go back through a node.
’Of course, the return trip is much more convenient, since you can freely choose your exit node.’
Realizing this, Isaac’s eyes narrowed slightly. ’This seems like something I could take advantage of...’
’All it would take is two Water Tornadoes in the Real World and one in the Endless Sea—three in total—to create a simple connection for the rapid transport of goods.’
But again, it had absolutely nothing to do with him.
Isaac might not even be able to hold on to the one Water Tornado he had, let alone three.
So, Isaac simply lamented the changing times for a moment before opening a pitch-black rift behind him. One by one, figures shrouded in evil and profound Magic Power flew out, speeding off in four directions—left, right, behind, and below—to scout for him.
He himself took Smith and flew straight ahead.
However, they hadn’t flown far before the Lord’s Book in Isaac’s hand once again sprang to life. Information about a set of coordinates appeared before Isaac. Clearly, this was a tip from the Empire.
"Here? Then let’s go!" Seeing the coordinates on the Lord’s Book, Isaac raised an eyebrow. Without much hesitation, faint spatial fluctuations materialized behind him. A goblin then flew out of the pitch-black rift and was devoured by the spatial fluctuations.
Isaac, of course, was not that foolish. The Empire was clearly not on his side. Even if they were maintaining a certain level of harmony for now, Isaac wouldn’t take the risk. What if it was a trap?
’It’s always best to be cautious!’
But soon, sensing that the Three-eyed Goblin was unharmed, Isaac no longer hesitated. He and Smith were swallowed by the spatial fluctuations, heading for the coordinates the Empire had provided.
「The scene shifted.」
Isaac and Smith arrived on a deserted island. Upon Isaac’s appearance, the short Three-eyed Goblin immediately bowed respectfully to him, then dissipated into black smoke, returning to the Dimension World.
This was Isaac’s arrangement. There were others from the Empire here, and if they saw him traveling with a Dimension Apostle, everything would be ruined.
The moment he set foot on the deserted island, Isaac understood the Empire’s plan.
They did want him to compete for a Divinity for them, but the method was a bit different.
He wasn’t meant to snatch the Divinity directly, but to participate in a massive ritual, win a certain stage for the Empire, and contribute to their efforts to claim the final Divinity.
’How should I put this...’
After processing the information in his mind, Isaac couldn’t help but scratch his head. ’Is it... that simple? Is there nothing else?’
Isaac blinked, finding it hard to believe this was what the Empire wanted him to do. But unfortunately, according to the information he received, that was indeed the case.
Shaking his head, Isaac sighed. ’Does the Empire... trust him this much?’
Isaac slowly stepped forward. A faint ripple of Magic Power spread out as his eyes glinted, and an invisible Force Field instantly enveloped the entire island!
"Authority Magic: Arrogant Turtle!"
In that instant, drifting leaves froze in mid-air and swirling dust solidified. Except for the flowing air, the world stood still...
This was Authority Magic, a Technique that could bring the power of an Authority to its absolute peak!
"Go. Finish them," Isaac said, turning his head slightly to command Smith behind him.
Smith nodded lightly. Golden-red Magic Power erupted from his lean body as faint Dragon Scales emerged. His already exuberant life force instantly turned berserk!
He gently drew the Longsword from his waist. The moment the blade was fully unsheathed, Smith’s figure vanished. Isaac, meanwhile, strolled leisurely toward the island’s interior.
Although the Authority Magic, Arrogant Turtle, was powerful, it couldn’t guarantee victory against all Tier Three opponents. For example, on the island right now, there were at least four individuals who had not been immobilized by Isaac’s Authority Magic. Isaac would have to deal with these four personally.
However, Isaac had only taken a few steps before he stopped. Four figures had already appeared before him. Looking at them, Isaac narrowed his eyes. A glint of light flickered in his pupils, and in a moment, he had a firm grasp of their details.
The one on the far left, bare-chested, was the only High-level Knight who hadn’t been immobilized. His body contained an extremely scorching Solar Power. The moment the power of Arrogant Turtle wrapped around him, it was burned to nothing by the intense Solar Power.
The fact that he could stand before Isaac as a Knight was a testament to his strength. He wore an expression of extreme arrogance, his head held high, his eyes filled with disdain.
This posture, this power, couldn’t help but make Isaac think of that man—Escanor, the Sin of Pride.
The second and third individuals were High-level Mages. One wore a gray robe, while the other wore a Wizard Robe formed from coalesced black gas, giving him a very strange appearance. Of these two, one held the Authority of [Demon Domination] and had controlled a swarm of tiny Demons to counteract the force of Isaac’s Authority Magic. The other held the Authority of [Shadow Realm] and had completely dissipated the spell’s power.
The last one was neither a Wizard nor a Knight, but a Priest—a Priest who wielded Divine Power!
This was very strange. Why would a Deity covet a Divinity that didn’t belong to it?
Isaac narrowed his eyes. His understanding of Deities was now extremely profound. They couldn’t simply devour the Divinity of other Deities to increase their power. No Deity would do something as self-destructive as drinking poison to quench thirst.
