Wizard: Scamming a Demon God
Chapter 300 - 225: The Empire’s Mission
Chapter 300: Chapter 225: The Empire’s Mission
Of course, they weren’t *actually* sending Isaac to find a Divinity. If he truly found one, Isaac couldn’t even guarantee he’d hand it over to the Empire...
So, the Empire’s intention was likely just to dispatch him to the Endless Sea in the Empire’s name. There was probably some deeper meaning to it, but Isaac’s knowledge of the Endless Sea was too limited at the moment to accurately judge their true objective.
However, two things were certain. First, the Empire didn’t want Isaac to seize a Divinity for them, as they claimed—at least, they didn’t want it ending up in his hands. Second, they weren’t just trying to get him out of the way so they could do something else.
After all, at this stage, nothing was more important than pioneering the Endless Sea!
WHOOSH!
As Isaac was speculating about the Empire’s motives, a monstrous wave began to swirl rapidly above his castle. Then, a Water Tornado slowly condensed and reached down toward the ground.
At the same time, a piece of information surfaced in Isaac’s mind: this Water Tornado descending from the heavens was one of the nodes connecting the Endless Sea to the Real World. It was the only way to get there!
This was also one of the reasons the Empire wanted him to go to the Endless Sea.
After all, even within the Empire’s borders, only about twenty such nodes existed. Each passage represented unimaginable profits!
Naturally, the Empire would never allow Isaac to control such a passage.
Of course, it wouldn’t be simple for the Empire to take it back. Isaac’s territory, after all, had been granted by Solomon and was located deep within Solomon’s heartland. Only a fool would give up such a location.
Thus, the Empire would certainly have to negotiate seriously with Caesar, which was another reason they wanted Isaac out of the picture.
A Mad Witch, from any perspective, was not an ideal negotiating partner.
Still, that was likely just a secondary motive. The Empire’s true reason, he feared, was buried much deeper...
Gazing at the descending Water Tornado, Isaac’s expression was unreadable. He glanced toward the Imperial Capital and chuckled softly before flying toward the vortex. At the same moment, the utterly evil Magic Power of Liu Li and the Saint Master surged, blanketing the entire territory!
One was Advanced, the other infinitely close to it, and both were utterly evil!
Beneath the weight of these two auras of Magic Power, the few residents of Isaac’s territory stared in terror toward the Mage Tower. Inside the tower, the newly joined Wizards were also filled with fear.
They knew, of course, that Liu Li and the Saint Master belonged to the territory, but in the face of such overwhelmingly evil Magic Power, their fear was instinctual!
Anyone whose Magic Power was lower than theirs would be dominated by that fear!
"ROAR!"
Immediately after, a Dragon’s Roar, accompanied by powerful Sword Qi, erupted from the territory. A potent aura—evil, yet tinged with a hint of the sacred—shot from the land straight toward Isaac.
As Isaac’s figure descended from the sky to land beside the Water Tornado, a Half-dragon Man landed right behind him.
It was Smith Hank, the butler who had followed Isaac from his home, a staunch human supremacist. Well, a former one.
Now, as Isaac’s power had steadily grown, some of Smith’s own beliefs had quietly changed...
He once vehemently opposed Isaac’s inhuman self-modifications, but now...
...he himself had almost completely shed his human form.
Although it had been a while since Smith had been the focus, Isaac had actually been paying close attention to his progress. In fact, with Isaac’s current resources, it would be quite easy to help Smith advance to Tier Three.
The Path of the Knight was certainly out of the question; he had neglected it for too long, a gap not easily bridged. However, Isaac had implanted him with a Giant Dragon Bloodline long ago—and a Pure-blooded one at that.
Therefore, advancing to Tier Three should have been easy for him. All he needed to do was raise his Magic Level, which, for a Smith who possessed a Giant Dragon Bloodline, simply required constantly devouring resources rich in Magic Power.
But that kind of Tier Three was not what Smith was aiming for. As Isaac’s power grew, Smith’s own ambitions had expanded. The once-unattainable Tier Three no longer seemed so important to him now.
Now, he wanted to ascend to Tier Three only as a Pure-blooded Giant Dragon!
Only then could he continue to stay by Isaac’s side and continue to serve him.
That was why, recently, he had been using Isaac’s High-level Curse, [Transform into a noble swan from an ugly duckling!], to purify the Giant Dragon Bloodline within his body.
Simply put, he no longer wanted to be human!
That was why he was still only Tier Two.
Of course, while his tier was low, the Pure-blooded Giant Dragon Bloodline within him had been purified to a considerable degree. His combat prowess was quite formidable, and the few Dragon Language Magic spells he had awakened were equivalent to Privilege Magic!
And unlike Privilege Magic, Dragon Language Magic relied on the Giant Dragon Bloodline and didn’t have a long casting time. Only a few Dragon Language Magic spells, those comparable to Authority Magic, had any wind-up period at all.
This was one of the reasons Pure-blooded Giant Dragons were so powerful.
Thus, the current Smith, much like Isaac when he was at Tier Two, could guarantee a win against any High-level Knight. At this level of strength, there was little difference between him and a Tier Three.
