Chapter 269: Chapter 205: Advancement to High-level Mage

Isaac then spent three days copying the contents of the Demon God’s Magic Book into his own Magic Book. After taking some time to get in the right state of mind, he officially began the long-awaited advancement ritual—the ritual to become a High-level Wizard!

For many Grand Wizards, even after completing the nine augmentation procedures and three preliminary rituals, they cannot immediately perform the ceremony to become a High-level Wizard. This is partly because rituals with high success rates are held by the major powers, and partly because the preceding nine procedures and three rituals are bound to have flaws.

After all, even machines break down, let alone people.

Therefore, even a Grand Wizard who manages to obtain an advancement ritual must spend some time preparing themselves and stabilizing their condition.

Isaac, however, had no such concerns. Every step he had taken was flawless, with success rates that were off the charts. ’How could it be anything but perfect?’

Of course, despite his confidence, Isaac still gave himself three days to prepare. During this time, aside from initially copying the Magic Book, he set aside all research and study. He spent his days simply wandering around his domain with either Liu Li or Lorna.

Though his domain was not large, Isaac was able to relax his mind and body to the fullest.

On the top floor of the Mage Tower, Isaac took a few deep breaths. After checking the ritual one final time, he slowly walked to the center of the Ritual Array, the eyes of everyone behind him fixed upon him.

Behind him stood Smith, Shushu, Liu Li, Lorna, the Saint Master, and even Eira, who usually roamed the dreamscape but had made a rare appearance. They all knew Isaac was undertaking something of immense importance. If he failed, death might be the least of his worries...

They knew Isaac was confident. They knew he had never failed a ritual. They had absolute faith in his talent...

But now that the moment had arrived, they couldn’t help but feel nervous.

In contrast to their worries, however, Isaac was far more relaxed. After all, the ritual’s margin for error was a full one thousand percent!

This was a standard advancement ritual, not some dark pact with an Outer God. With such a massive margin for error, even in the one-in-a-million chance that his luck was so abysmal that a world-shaking cataclysm caused the ritual to fail, he could still escape the backlash completely unscathed.

And so, without any hesitation, Isaac activated the ritual with a single thought.

Unlike the rituals for dealing with Outer Gods, the fluctuations of Magic Power from this advancement ceremony were open and pure, making one feel as if they were basking in a gentle spring breeze.

Of course, that was only for those outside the ritual.

For Isaac, who stood within the circle, it was a completely different sensation!

And a completely different sight!

Once he activated the ritual, he found its power coalescing above his head, forming a rainbow-hued palace. Its name: the True Divine Hall!

The instant the prismatic palace appeared, a terrifying pressure descended upon Isaac, threatening to crush both his body and soul!

*CRACK...* Even though he had expected this, when the force truly descended, the pressure was enough to twist his face into a pained grimace. The Golden Finger only guaranteed the ritual’s margin for error; it didn’t mean the advancement would be painless.

But even as his features contorted in pain, a flicker of joy appeared on Isaac’s face.

The advancement was proceeding smoothly. He could clearly feel the immense pressure crushing the foreign traces within his augmented tissues, grinding them down and merging them into his own body.

In a daze, faint sounds echoed in Isaac’s ears: the calls of great whales, the roars of Dragons, the whispers of Elves, the murmurs of Angels...

This brought another wave of joy to Isaac, and the pain wracking his body seemed to lessen.

This meant the advancement ritual was halfway complete; all foreign traces within his augmented tissues had vanished. But Isaac didn’t dare let his guard down for even a moment, because the next step was just as critical.

Legendary Wizards transplant tissues from other High-level Life forms to sublimate the "self," not to transform into some bizarre Magical Creature.

The most important part of this step was the "self"!

Even a Dragon Witch, who specializes in transplanting the tissues of Giant Dragons, must focus on their own self at this stage. The goal is to fully integrate the Dragon’s power, not to become a Dragon oneself.

While that path also leads to a successful advancement, one would not become a Tier Three High-level Wizard, but a Tier Three High-level Magical Creature!

Isaac, of course, would not allow himself to suffer such a fate. So, decisively, he released his resistance against the pressure from the True Divine Hall.

POP!

As Isaac dropped his defenses, his entire body instantly exploded!

!!!

Seeing Isaac suddenly explode within the circle, the onlookers’ eyes went wide. They held their breath, fists clenched in absolute tension.

Isaac had explained the advancement process to them in detail beforehand, so while they were shocked, they didn’t panic. Instead, they all stared intently at the cloud of blood mist within the Ritual Array.

Or rather, at the blood-drenched spinal column floating in its center!

Soon, driven by the Ritual Power, the dispersed blood mist began to converge upon the spinal column. It was absorbed completely, along with any trace of blood on the bone itself.

Before long, only a snow-white spinal column remained floating in the center of the ritual. If one looked closely, they could discern incredibly faint, silvery magic runes etched upon its surface.

Seeing this, everyone finally breathed a collective sigh of relief. They knew that reaching this stage meant Isaac’s advancement was a success.

Just as they thought, in the next moment, the materials that formed the ritual array shattered, transforming into streams of pure Magic Power that surged toward the snow-white spine. After absorbing enough energy, the spine began to emit a unique radiance.

As the Magic Power continued to pour in, the light grew brighter and brighter, until...

A handsome young man emerged from the brilliant light. He wore a gray Wizard Robe and a wide-brimmed Wizard Hat, a faint smile gracing his lips. In his hand, he held a silver Magic Staff that stood taller than his head.

High-level Wizard. Advancement complete!
