Chapter 80: Chapter 80: Magic Power Specialization and the Dragon’s Secret Treasure

Here, there was no risk of death. One could communicate and spar with creatures from different Planes anytime and anywhere, broadening their horizons and facilitating the flow of information. The Great Wizards were also more than happy to have different races enter the Spiritual Space. More Spirit Links meant more data, more samples, and more iterative Materials. The Celestial Net grew slowly amidst the spiritual fluctuations of countless living beings, becoming increasingly massive, precise, and closer to the impossible state of "omniscience."

Chen Shang looked at Surtr in the Temperature-Controlled District. The little fellow’s brows were slightly furrowed; he was likely engaged in a fierce battle with someone in the arena. Of course, he didn’t expect Surtr to earn any money. However, sparring with others to train his combat skills couldn’t hurt.

The Golden Crow darted in from outside. He also glanced at Surtr before whispering, "Boss, can he make money fighting in the arena?"

"Hard to say. All sorts of messy entities exist in the Spiritual Space. A Magma Giant doesn’t have any racial advantage." Chen Shang shook his head. Surtr would only gain an edge once he fully mastered Three Heads and Six Arms and the Samadhi True Flame.

The Golden Crow fell silent for a moment. "Then how about I go fight too?"

"You? You’re not even as good as Surtr. Finish memorizing the Runes for the Samadhi True Flame first!" Chen Shang said, rejecting the Golden Crow’s proposal. Arena fighting wasn’t just about combat prowess; it also had a performative aspect. Otherwise, without an audience, where would the profit come from? If a Magma Giant was a warrior-type creature, then the Golden Crow’s race—the Dream Crow—was definitely a Mage-type creature. He had absolutely no talent for close-quarters combat, so naturally, no one would watch him fight in the arena.

Early the next morning, Chen Shang arrived at the breeding garden on time.

Recording the data was simpler than he had anticipated. Every creature’s food intake, Energy conversion rate, and metabolic data... each item had standard measurement methods and recording formats. He scanned them once with Life Perception and double-checked with the instruments, completing the data collection. In less than an hourglass, the data for all the creatures in the front area had been fully recorded.

But he didn’t leave in a hurry. Recalling the data he had just acquired, he pondered another question. The volunteers Hathaway had selected weren’t recruited at random. Each creature possessed a unique Energy metabolism method, yet every single method pointed in the same direction: how to generate, store, and convert Magic Power more efficiently. She was researching "Magic Power" itself, attempting to extract universal laws from the energy cycles of different species to build the foundation for her own Magic Spring.

Chen Shang opened his interface and activated the Blue entry, [Magic Spring]. This wasn’t Witchcraft; it was an innate talent born from Spiritual Power Specialization. However, relying on his Golden Finger, he had obtained this talent ahead of time, even before completing his Spiritual Power Specialization.

Within his Sea of Consciousness, the main Crystal Core sat right in the center. His Sea of Magic Power had originally spread out around the Crystal Core, but now it had split in two, collapsing into two Nebula-like entities—one large and one small. The smaller one was the Second Magic Spring. Together with the main Magic Origin, it slowly rotated around the Crystal Core.

A thought rose in Chen Shang’s mind. "Since I have two Magic Springs, can I use one of them specifically to contain the Samadhi True Flame?"

The Samadhi True Flame was too strong and too volatile. Chen Shang hadn’t yet found an Element of the same Level compatible with it; forcibly combining it with others would only cause an explosion. But if he placed it alone in a Magic Spring, letting it sit by itself without mixing with other Elements, wouldn’t it be easier to control? That way, the Main Magic Spring would handle normal Elemental Witchcraft and daily consumption, while the Secondary Magic Spring would exclusively supply the Samadhi True Flame. He could call upon it directly when needed without worrying about compatibility issues.

Chen Shang closed the interface but didn’t immediately begin experimenting. For one, experimenting within the Sea of Consciousness was no laughing matter. For another, he had only ever heard of Spiritual Power Specialization, not Magic Spring Specialization. He had to be extremely cautious.

After finishing the data recording in the front area, Chen Shang walked around to the back of the breeding garden and swiped his card to enter the prison area.

The lighting within the high walls was much dimmer than in the front area. Individual cells lined both sides of the corridor. The death row inmates were very quiet today. They stood obediently within the monitoring zones, cooperating with Chen Shang to record the data, even forcing smiles onto their faces. Chen Shang ignored them, methodically completing each record—Energy fluctuation peaks, Magic Power residue concentrations... He had no interest in the death row inmates; his mind was entirely occupied with the matter of the Magic Spring.

This idea was tantamount to adding an attribute to the Magic Spring. If this path proved viable, it might just pioneer a completely new project. After all, very few Wizard Apprentices possessed two Magic Springs before completing their Spiritual Power Specialization. He repeatedly deduced the feasibility of this plan, while his hands barely paused in their recording work, entering the data into the Crystal Plate item by item.

By the time he reached the last few cells, the heavily injured Sub-dragon from yesterday was looking slightly better today. The bleeding wound had already formed into a fleshy lump. But upon seeing Chen Shang approach, he immediately backed up against the wall, his already tense expression becoming even more unsettled.

In truth, Chen Shang was deep in thought and didn’t pay the creature much mind. He opened his Crystal Plate and began recording data without any extra words or expressions. The Sub-dragon looked at his face, fear rising in his heart like a rising tide. He felt he had to do something.

"My Lord... I will definitely cooperate with your experiments. If you are truly short on money, I am willing to offer you my treasure."

Chen Shang finally snapped out of his thoughts. He looked up at the Sub-dragon. "Oh? What kind of treasure do you have?"

He looked the Sub-dragon up and down, his gaze calm. "Let me tell you, shiny baubles like gold and diamonds are worthless to me."

The Sub-dragon hastily shook his head. "Not gold or diamonds, but the armor and weapons of some warriors, as well as Magic Gemstones I’ve collected. They’re all good items!

"The armor and weapons have Enchantments on them, and the gemstones are even more precious. They have Elemental Energy sealed inside and can be sold for a high price!

"I originally planned to use these things to make a comeback, but I never expected to be captured and sent to the Wizard World..." he added, swallowing hard.

Chen Shang didn’t speak, simply observing him quietly. Not daring to hide anything, the Sub-dragon poured out everything.

"The items are in my secret underground vault. The Plane designation is Balman No. 7, and the coordinates are High Tower Grid 1357, located beneath a wasteland.

"The entrance is a giant red rock. Take thirteen steps west from its base, and you will find a groove in the ground. Drip my Dragon Blood into it, and it will open."

Chen Shang noted the Plane designation and coordinates on his Crystal Plate, then closed it. "What’s your name?"

"Saphiron. My Lord, my name is Saphiron." A fawning smile appeared on Saphiron’s face.

"Alright, I’ll remember you."
