Wizard: I Add Points and Hunt Monsters
Chapter 521 212: The Method of Source Fusion
Wei'en raised his wine glass and downed the red wine in one go.
"Mr. Leonard, I was wondering if Origin Power can be used for Magic?"
"To amplify Magic?"
The Joker's lips curled into another grin. With a playful glint in his eyes, he said, "I'm sure you know the essence of Magic better than I do. Though I'm not one of those Wizards who clamor about pursuing knowledge and researching truth, I'm well aware that your power is built upon runes and the Gonzalez language."
"Of course, that's just what I've heard. For me, the simplest, most direct methods are always the most effective. And your specialties—runes, Alchemy Magic Patterns, and the Gonzalez language—are like rats hiding in the cracks of a wall: you can't see them, and you can't touch them."
'Alchemy Magic Patterns… So those bizarre symbols have a technical name.'
Wei'en gazed thoughtfully at the worn-out wooden table. Carefully parsing Leonard's words, he realized it was true—the Magic he had learned was indeed a combination of runes and the Gonzalez language.
Whether it was the Ghost Soul School, or the Mechanical and Blood Spirit Schools, they all primarily combined Spiritual Power with the Gonzalez language to activate runes and complete the casting process.
It was just that the Ghost Soul School's Meditation Technique simplified the process of chanting incantations, using a subsidiary body of Origin Power to complete the mental triggering of the runes.
'But during the casting process, there doesn't seem to be any basis for using Origin Power to amplify the effects of Magic, is there?'
'Whether by fusing Origin Power with Spiritual Power, or infusing it into the Gonzalez language, the final effect of the Magic still came down to the runes.'
'Or what if I attached the Origin Power directly to the runes?'
Wei'en silently made a mental note of this idea, thinking he would test his theory later, after he had advanced his studies in runes…
The Joker watched the pensive Wei'en. 'Is this kid thinking about some bit of Wizard lore?'
'I can't figure out what he's thinking at all.'
With that thought, the Joker poured another glass of red wine. His scarlet eyes remained fixed on Wei'en, reflecting his image: medium-length black hair, a plain face, a pair of crimson eyes filled with contemplation, and slightly bronzed skin, which all gave the young Wizard a sharp air about him.
'Sharp?'
As the impression surfaced in his mind, the Joker pursed his lips. 'Dull would be more like it.'
But he also had to admit that Wei'en was outstanding—
A young Wizard like him, with a less-than-exceptional background and bloodline, had managed to grow so strong so quickly, and all of his abilities showed great potential…
Of course, the most crucial part was—he was able to invade a god's domain!
The Joker was impressed by all of this, especially that last point. Even in his own era, a god's domain wasn't something just anyone could invade.
Even a slumbering god would have defensive boundaries set up in its consciousness. If an enemy invaded its domain, the god could awaken instantly from its sleep.
That was why he had just stepped in to save Wei'en's life.
'A young Wizard this lucky and this interesting was bound to bring some change to this wretched world. And that would certainly be more fun, wouldn't it?'
Wei'en, lost in thought, had no idea what the Joker was thinking.
If he had, he probably would have consciously used the Shadow Step Technique less to reduce the risk of waking the god.
Right now, all his thoughts were focused on how to master the Origin Power fusion that Leonard had just taught him.
He knew that compared to conventional Magic, which could only be strengthened by leveling it up, the path of the Blood Spirit Mage was the best way to maximize his power right now.
Other schools of Magic required time and a vast accumulation of knowledge.
'As for the method of Origin Power fusion… Hmm, according to Leonard, it's the complete opposite of the process of death?'
'I remember the passage in the Gonzalez language Leonard wrote—death is a wondrous journey. The separation of body and Spirit erects a wall of confinement around the soul, causing the Origin Power to lose its feelers. As the body withers, the Spirit and soul merge, and the soul and Origin Power become even more tightly connected. Finally, when the body's flesh and blood have completely vanished, the Origin Power dissipates…'
'So if it's the opposite, does that mean condensing Origin Power, weakening the connection between it and the soul, and fusing the body with Spiritual Power?'
"Pfft… Hahahaha…"
As that vague guess surfaced in his perception, the Joker burst into uncontrollable laughter, each chuckle dripping with mockery.
"You—Mr. Leonard, did you…" Wei'en caught on; the Joker must have snooped on his thoughts again. "Um, so what is the method for Origin Power fusion?"
"The meth-method… Hehehehe…" The Joker's shoulders shook as he covered his wide mouth with a white-gloved hand, laughing hysterically.
Wei'en: "…"
'What the hell is so funny?'
'Was my guess wrong?'
"What you were thinking… is very… very right, hahaha…"
'So he knew!'
Wei'en asked helplessly, "So, what is the correct method?"
"Let's… let's not talk about 'correct.' I just think if you tried fusing Origin Power that way, something very… interesting would happen… Haha…"
"What?"
The Joker laughed hysterically for a while before he finally calmed down. When he looked at Wei'en, his eyes were still brimming with mirth.
"It's the separation of body and soul, you idiot!"
"Huh?" Wei'en froze, then recalled his theory about the fusion method. "Is it because the connection between the Origin Power and the soul is weakened?"
