Wizard: I Add Points and Hunt Monsters
Chapter 492 - 203: A Miss Zombie Like That Must Be Top-Tier
However, this approach was inadvisable and shouldn’t be overused. If certain beings in the Undead World discovered it, contracting Undead Creatures in the future would become difficult.
Just then, a Mutated Mage standing beside Escobar, who had clearly augmented himself with some corrupting feature, grinned sinisterly, tentacles writhing around his neck. "Compared to this place, I imagine what they’d really want is to invite Senior Teresa to join their research institute, don’t you think?"
"I wonder if Wizard Wei’en will come to Feng Enliso when he sees an institute like this." The tall Witch, Oshana, glanced at the short-haired Witch walking ahead. "Senior Teresa, this is the outcome you were hoping for, isn’t it?"
"You’re all exaggerating. Building this research institute only cost a million gold pounds."
Teresa feigned ignorance of the question, but a smile played on her lips. It was clear she very much hoped to see Wizard Wei’en standing inside this institute.
Just then, a wizard at the very back, his figure obscured by a black Wizard Robe with the hood pulled up, spoke coldly, "I just want to know if he’ll reveal the runes for those two Magics."
"Adolph, what do you think?" the Mutated Mage asked, turning around. All five of his eyes fixed on the Black Robed Mage as he grinned, revealing a mouth full of sharp fangs.
"Wizard Ausel, please don’t turn your face toward me. It makes my companions nervous," said the Black Robed Mage, Adolph Boyer, his tone as indifferent as ever.
"Companions?" The Mutated Mage stopped walking, his tentacles whipping about more rapidly. He let out a bizarre cackle. "So, you’ve already seeded yourself with those plague toxins?"
The Black Robed Mage also stopped, tilting his head up just enough to reveal a chin covered in pustules. His voice turned raspy. "You want to try?"
"Plague toxins don’t work on me, Adolph..."
"Enough!"
The smile vanished from Teresa’s face. Beneath her gold-rimmed glasses, a murderous glint flashed in her dark green eyes. "If you two don’t want to die, shut up!"
"Ohoho... Senior’s angry. Are you two going to continue?" Oshana chuckled, covering her mouth. She watched the scene with keen interest, as if hoping for some excitement.
"My apologies, Senior," the Black Robed Mage said with indifference, reaching out from under his robe with two blood-stained fingers to tug his hood down, wrapping himself more tightly.
Meanwhile, the Mutated Mage behind Teresa bowed repeatedly in an exaggerated display of apology, his tentacles drooping to the ground. "My apologies, Senior Teresa," he said, his voice full of remorse. "I promise it won’t happen again."
"Th-that’s more like it..." Escobar stammered, taking a step forward. He noticed the tips of his shoes peeking out and hastily pulled his feet back.
"Hmph! I expect you all to refrain from causing trouble in the institute. If you so much as dirty this place, I will make you regret ever coming here!"
Teresa’s tone was laced with displeasure. The eight heads circling above her stared unblinkingly at Escobar and the others with eight pairs of bright eyes, silently awaiting her command.
"Senior, I’m sure they understand the consequences now, so you can stop being angry..." Oshana said, her gaze fixed on the eight heads, her eyes narrowing.
"They’d better!" Teresa snorted, turning and striding deeper into the castle. Her voice drifted back, "And another thing. Whatever your reasons for coming here, Wizard Wei’en’s research project takes absolute priority. If I find any of you trying to pull some shady business..."
"Death."
Hearing her words, Oshana and the others exchanged a look before quietly following her.
"Senior, there’s something I don’t quite understand," Oshana said after a few seconds of silence, a thoughtful look in her eyes.
"What is it?"
"It’s about the Director. Why did he choose such a research topic? His runology is so strong. If he were researching Magic, I’m sure he could quickly surpass Dean Josue and become the head of Feng Enliso."
"I don’t know either," Teresa said, shaking her head after a moment’s thought.
"Dean Josue didn’t tell you anything about it?" Adolph asked, equally curious.
"No," Teresa said, reaching the end of the hall and pushing open a large door inlaid with two fist-sized Gemstones. "The Director has his reasons for this choice. All we can do is help him complete his research."
Hearing this, Oshana and the others asked no more questions, silently following Teresa through the doorway.
"This is our research lab. I’ve already requested a full set of equipment and materials from the school. If you need anything else, let me know, and I’ll submit a comprehensive request to the Director."
"How extravagant..." Oshana murmured, surveying the brand-new equipment with a smile. "For the school to be this generous... it seems the higher-ups have great expectations for our institute."
"It is," Escobar said excitedly, his gaze fixed on a massive sphere in the center of the lab. "Is that an Alchemy Dynamic Instrument? The school even approved a device like this for us?"
Teresa followed his gaze. "Oh, that? The school didn’t provide it. I bought it on the black market. I thought it might come in handy."
"One of this size must have cost a million gold pounds, right?"
"No. About nine hundred and twenty thousand gold pounds."
"..."
’It must be nice to be rich!’
Escobar stammered, "I’m sure of it now. If the wizards from other institutes saw all this, they’d weep with envy."
