Wizard: I Add Points and Hunt Monsters
Chapter 483 - 201: He’s So Heartless
"Tina Lilith Leonard?"
An image from that night in the Caster City State surfaced in Wei’en’s mind—the massive, shadowy figure standing behind Tina, the black lightning that crackled down, and the magma on the ground that seemed to cheer for her arrival.
’A being like that has its eyes on me?’
’Is it because of the white-haired girl, or the Calamity Origin that came after?’
"It is her,"
Leonard toyed with his wine glass, a nostalgic look in his eyes. "The Lady of Calamity, mistress of flame and thunder, ruler of misfortune... She was already a main player on the stage back in the Third Era."
"The time that left the deepest impression on me was when she had just obtained the authority of Calamity and was about to carve out her own realm. Both Earth and the Sun tried to stop her, but even together, they couldn’t prevent her ascension."
"Although I don’t know what happened... after that, which resulted in her being confined to the Realm of Calamity, I know one thing for certain: if she wishes it, she absolutely has the power to influence the course of any person or event in this world."
"Anyone she sets her sights on will be plagued by constant misfortune. Any matter she interferes with will turn out for the worst."
"Especially since that girl is the vessel she prepared for herself. She won’t let things go smoothly for you two."
Wei’en nodded silently. With a being like that targeting him, anything could happen.
And the Realm of Calamity... If it was a world like the Realm of Death, then perhaps he and Tina were already within that woman’s line of sight.
At this thought, Wei’en flinched. It was as if, in some unseen place, the Lady of Calamity was just like the clown, holding a wine glass and lounging on her throne, watching him and Tina with great interest...
"So, what should I do?"
"There is no better way," Leonard said bluntly. "The only thing you can do is increase your own strength as quickly as possible."
"Mm."
Wei’en took a deep breath. He knew his emotions were in turmoil, not just from the clown’s words, but also from the shock of seeing the Realm of Death. It made him realize just how insignificant he still was in the face of such beings.
"So please, the Abyssal Creatures you summon are very important to me, Mr. Leonard."
The clown: "..."
’Damn it, there are so many ways to get stronger. Why did he have to fixate on those lovely Abyssal Creatures?’
’Besides, that bastard, the Lord of the Abyss, isn’t hibernating. If too many of them die, he’s going to get angry.’
He glanced at Wei’en and put down his glass. "You should go back now!"
"Huh?"
Before Wei’en could say another word, the clown had vanished from sight.
Leonard looked around the empty wooden cabin, his eyes falling on the window.
Darkness shrouded the outside, silent and still. It was like a lighthouse in a lonely world, quietly waiting for something.
"Lilith..."
As he murmured the name, the candlelight in the cabin flickered violently, casting a hideous, terrifying shadow that stood behind the clown with its claws bared.
FZZT.
The candle went out, plunging the cabin into darkness.
Meanwhile, Wei’en reappeared on the theater stage, still in a seated position.
Pavla stared at the suddenly-appeared Wei’en, particularly his posture, and asked uncertainly, "You... What was that?"
"It’s nothing!"
Wei’en stood up straight. He glanced at her and noticed the white-haired girl in her arms. "Give her to me."
"Oh, oh, sorry, I... I don’t know which room is hers..." Pavla hurriedly and carefully placed the girl on a chair.
"Mm."
Wei’en picked up Tina, along with the silent clown doll and teddy bear, and carried them to the rest area. After tidying up a bit, he closed the door and left.
"A-Are you going to eat? It’s... it’s already cold."
"Oh."
Wei’en thought for a moment, then walked over, pulled out a chair, and sat down. He picked up the food on the table and started eating. He was indeed a bit hungry; he had just been through two fights, and his resilience level had increased again.
Pavla stood by the dining table and asked, puzzled, "What was that just now? That girl’s situation is a bit... Is there someone else hidden inside her body?"
"You’re very concerned about this?"
"No, no, no, no, I’m not concerned at all..."
Wei’en gave a noncommittal nod. "As a subordinate servant, it’s only right to show an appropriate amount of concern."
"..."
’Servant?’
Pavla muttered indignantly, "I am not your servant!"
She would never let herself become another kind Hilia. If she were to be a servant, it would be in devotion to the great Dawn, or the great and benevolent Angel, Amiraguli Xiaolong Laitening.
"You don’t like being called a servant?"
"I don’t!"
"How about ’Maid’?" Wei’en said calmly. "You need to be clear about your position. Here, bringing up the Dawn Church will only make me think less of you."
’Do the True God Churches really exist for the sake of the world?’
He didn’t quite agree with what the clown had said. Perhaps it was because he had seen too much of the Dawn Church’s dark side while living at the bottom of society, which made him subconsciously want to reject the idea.
Then again, he didn’t truly understand the so-called True God Churches either...
Pavla glared at him, her cheeks puffed out, looking like she wanted to take a bite out of him. But when she thought of the Dawn Believers who might be killed by the Evil Mage, she could only say resignedly, "Oh, I understand."
"Leave the rest for them."
Wei’en finished his simple dinner and pointed to the training area between the audience seats. "Of course, you could also choose to take it to them yourself. I imagine that’s what a proper Maid would do."
